Last night was our first time eating here  we started with the chips and salsa. Chips weren't very good however there salsa was great. I got the chicken nachos and the chicken was really dried out and they only gave you a small amount of sour cream for a large portion of nachos. My husband got the burrito and really liked it. I would give it another try and order something different but I was let down pretty quickly this trip.
Review Source:The husband and I were on the way home from Ocean City - he's a bit petrified of the Bay Bridge, so we went around the long way, through Delaware, and ended up on Route 40 going back. Â We were absolutely starving by this time and were looking for a place open on Memorial Day - turns out there's not much. Â We didn't want fast food - what to do? Â Pull up Yelp, of course. Â Tacos Tijuana popped up as an option - okay, we're starving, we'll take a chance and see if they're open.
They were. Â Manna from heaven. Â At this point, I'll eat even if it's bad.
Luckily for us, it didn't turn out that way at all. Â Tacos Tijuana is one of those hidden diamonds in a cubic zirconia bracelet!
Tacos Tijuana is at the end of a little strip mall in the heart of Edgewood, of all places. Â It's a little small, but they have ample room for tables and chairs, with a television tuned to Telemundo. Â The proprietor (I think maybe it was the owner, not sure) was warm and welcoming, so much that the husband started automatically conversing in Spanish (not usual for him to do so without prompting). Â We ordered quickly and with little fuss - I had a chorizo burrito and a pupusa de queso, while he ordered an enchilada plate with a pupusa de queso y frijoles. Â The most delicious homemade chips and salsa were provided as we waited - so good!
The food arrived - wow, that's all I can say, this is freaking awesome. Â The burrito was so big that I ended up taking leftovers home, I could only eat half. Â The chorizo was perfectly seasoned, with plenty of beans and rice stuffed into the sides. Â But the pupusa, oh-em-effing-gee - this was easily the best one I've ever had. Â Perfectly fried, with hot, melty cheese oozing out of the sides. Â AWESOME!!!!
They will make it as spicy as you want at your request. Â And when you make it TOO spicy, they will provide some crema for you to kill the burn. Â :D
The husband loved it too, and he also had so much food that he brought home leftovers as well. Â Would have loved some Inca Kola, but I didn't see any (I did ask). Â They have Mexican Coca-Cola, though. Â
The prices were mind-blowing. Â 27 dollars for two people? Â Not bad at ALL!!!
It's a crying shame that we just don't get up this way - we would have to make a special trip to come out here. Â Which we may just do. Â This place actually rivals Tela Mares in the city, or Tijuana Tacos in Patterson Park. Â In some ways, it's actually better.
If you're on 40 going toward Harford County or coming back - stop here! Â I promise you, it's worth the drive. Â SO DELISH!!!!
Recommended highly.
Tip for Diabetics:
One thing about this place as compared to other Mexican places, however - for some reason, the food here DID spike me a bit, which was rather a disappointment. Â The tortillas for the pupusa may have been responsible, as the burrito's casing was thin, which shouldn't have caused a lot of damage. Â As we know, diabetes is one of those things where you simply cannot predict too clearly what a certain item will do, so please keep that in mind. Â

Not in the best location, but no hole in the wall places are. Real authentic Mexican food. Burritos are amazing as well as the enchiladas. Prices are really cheap. I wouldn't recommend eating in, because it only has a couple of tables. It looks similar to a Chinese restaurant inside. Take out is always great. Definitely try this place over the other Mexican places in the area.
