Talebu is a newer place, and I am a fan. I have tried the sandwiches, smoothies & a decaf caramella latte. The sandwiches and smoothies are really good, the sandwiches come with fresh fruit. I have tried the turkey sandwich that has pesto on it, and it was so good and really reasonably priced. They also have a couple breakfast sandwiches, I can't remember the name of it but the sandwich I got had pesto on it (can you tell I'm a fan of pesto?) and it was the perfect egg sandwich to wake me up. I've tried a few different smoothies here, but my favorite so far has to be the Starburst. It actually tastes like a starburst, imagine that ;). I am pregnant so I have yet to experience there real coffee, so for now I can only get the decaf carmella latte but you bet your booty I will be trying one of those delicious looking caffeinated beverages once I have this baby. The carmella latte is a tad too sweet for me so that is my only complaint. I do love that they have a drive thru, it makes it extremely convenient for 8 month pregnant women like me who really don't want to get out of our car and have to be in this disgusting heat. The employees have all been really friendly, especially who I'm assuming is the owner. They also have a whole punch card for there drinks, awesome! I believe they do double stamps on Saturdays.
Review Source:I see great things for this coffee shop. First off, I am a big fan of non-corporate coffee shops that make it feel welcoming to hang out and enjoy their space. And this place has plenty of it... SPACE, that is. I was tempted to simply go through the drive-thru to sample their coffee, but I had to check out the interior of the store. They have a relaxed vibe, interesting art displayed on the walls, and the coffee is delicious. I am intrigued by their dessert-like offerings (the cheesecake in a cup looks deeee-vine!), but I tend to restrain myself from the sweets if I am strong enough.
This place gets an extra star for the inclusion of a drive-thru window. I haven't found that in most coffeeshops I frequent around Phoenix. The proximity to my home will make this my on-the-fly must-have-caffeine destination. I can only hope that I will check out the evening entertainment here and continue to patronize an original coffee venue that is doing things right. Good on you, Talebu!
Finally got around to trying this place two weekends ago after grocery shopping next door. Desperately needed a pick-me-up after a non-stop month of family and friends in town.
When corporate coffee (coughcoughSTARBUCKScough) frequents every corner in the Valley, it's always great to support local business!
Nice, open atmosphere, no cookie-cutter décor in sight. That's refreshing! This reminds me of a toned-down version of a coffee shop I used spend a lot of time at in Colorado. Homegirl Extraordinaire Missy F. will know exactly which one. ;) Â
Very friendly barista that didn't hesitate to chat with me about how my day was going, etc. Also told me about Open Mic Night Thursday and Live Music Friday. All ages . . . will definitely have to check this out, and bring my teenage sister! Â She also gave me a coupon for a beverage if I came back on Friday when a band was there.
Normally, I just get an iced toddy or Americano when I go out. Not so keen on frou-frou "coffee" beverages, but the barista convinced me to try a Mexican Mocha.
While it tasted great, it was rather watered-down. I love a coffee that punches me in the face, not a half-assed attempt at waking me up. Â
Tip: Don't forget the check-in offer. $1 off any 24oz espresso bar drink!
Will I be back? Most likely. It's a new business; have to give it a chance, will definitely experiment with some of their other beverages and come back when I need a change of work venue.
Happy to have fresh, local business right down the street from my house! Looking forward to seeing this place grow!
