This place is as good as it gets! My wife and I enjoyed a night there for her birthday in early September and we were overwhelmed with every aspect of the place. The environment is so cool, quaint tables lining the dining room and a hand crafted bar that held a deep array of spirits. The food was down right awesome , I had thick cut pork chops and farm fresh vegetables. The meat was tender and juicy and prepared in a way that I have never tasted. It is very obvious that the chef has his patrons in mind every step of the way. I had a dirty gin martini that to my delight came with aged blue cheese filled olives ( what a great and tasty surprise!) My wife enjoyed laughing with a very witty bartender "Mike," and an even more fun hostess ( and wife of the owner and chef Pete) named Vivienne. The place is a gem and we look forward to returning to the Catskills even more now that Tavern 214 will be part of our trip!
Review Source:We went there on a Saturday night sat at the bar for dinner. Â Very nice atmosphere. Â It took easily 15-20 min to get our drinks. Â We ordered the tuna appetizer and the duck quesadilla appetizer. Â After about 20 minutes we were told that they were out of tuna, really it took 20 minutes to figure this out. Another twenty minutes go by and we finally received our appetizer, which was good but not worth the wait. Â We continued to wait and now we were starting to get impatient with the wait and actually we were just about to leave without our dinner because it was going on almost two hours to get our meals. Â The bartender had no explanation as the chef is the owner. Â The burger and lobster Mac and cheese were very tasty but the wait really destroyed our experience. Â We will not be back
Review Source:Best dining experience in Phoenicia...hands down! Â Very friendly staff; from the moment you walk in the door until you leave, they take great care in ensuring you have a pleasant experience. Â Upon first glance at the drink menu, I was immediately happy with the wine selection and my fiance (the beer drinker), was extremely impressed with their German beer selection. Â The food was amazing! Â I am some what of a lobster mac n cheese connoisseur. Â Best. I've. Ever. Had. Â Must try! Â The lobster was cooked to perfection, noodles were al dente, and the cheese sauce was to die for...As for the mains; we had the rib-eye and trout. Â Both superb. Â We can't wait to go back!
Review Source:Absolutely wonderful place to eat. The house burger was amazing and the lobster mac and cheese outta this world. The prosciutto wrapped figs to die for. Great craft beer menu with 33 beers. Wine selection good too. Met one of the owners Vivian as she went from table to table to make sure everything was great. Can't wait to go back.
Review Source:I was "wow-ed" by this place in Day 4 of it being open. I can't wait to see how it'll evolve over time!
We stayed next door at The Graham & Co. and figured we'd try Tavern as it's right next door.
First off, the hostesses were great and seated us immediately (even with a few dinner suggestions along the way). The owners are in house - working as bartender and head chef. And, they've assembled a knowledgeable, friendly and generally awesome waitstaff to look after you.
Drinks were great from the Hendrick's Martinis w/ Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives to the Blackberry Mojitos. For dinner we had the Quesadilla with Smoked Duck Breast, Spinach/Goat's Cheese Salad and the burger. All three were delicious. The burger was cooked to perfection (med rare) and the sherry onions and side offering of roasted potatoes - put it above and beyond.
Oh, and, big-ups to the music selection. The Portishead was very much appreciated.
