My husband and I were excited to go to this bar, shoot some pool and watch the drag show. We were on one part of our honeymoon. We ordered drinks and left the tab open - indicates we were going to stay a while. We each got watered down drinks, tasted like bad flavored water. There wasn't much that had our interest. After realizing we couldn't handle another drink like that we decided to go to the Stars Club where there was another show. There for $3 less we got the same drinks that were excellent. The show was great. The DJ played a very good mix of music.
Review Source:Have visited third coast many times on the weekend. I'm a straight woman, so this is not a typical review for a gay bar. I have always have a great time and have always been warmly welcomed. I have actually brought many of my straight male friends who were apprehensive at first but left with a brand new outlook/attitude. They always have drag on Friday and Saturday and that is so much fun. Â If you have never had an opportunity to watch one, come to third coast!
Review Source:We visited during a Thursday night when things were fairly slow. Â As a result, we spent most of our time visiting with our bartenders, Nick and Blake. Â Very nice, welcoming guys. Â Blake kept us laughing and Nick pours a mean cocktail, so prepare to have a good time if you visit too! Â (And please tip appropriately, as some of the other patrons at the bar were apparently rather - ahem - cheap. Shame on you guys...)
The bar itself is reasonably clean and comfortable. Â Dance music would get you moving on a weekend if there were more people around, but the night we came in featured karaoke which just got going as we left at around 10.30pm. (Located on Post Office near 24th, just a few blocks from The Strand)
Nice location right on the coast, with a roof-top view overlooking the Gulf. Â Friendly shirtless staff (who gave me a super-size bonus drink for no cost!). Â Locals a little TOO friendly, we were leapt upon by the oversexed (and why is it always the lesser attractive) members of the crowd. Â Be warned, hapless visitors. Â Seems like a friendly place overall, just reminds me why I hate going to bars in the first place. Â Poker games in one corner, QAF overhead, and country music (hack, gag) pummeling the ears.
