Tiki Bar

What an odd place.

I was driving thru Margate and I saw this Tiki Hut sitting in front of a bar. I've always wondered what type of bar this was and I don't remember there being a Tiki Hut built out front. So WTF, I decided to stop in. When I walked in, I knew right away this was a hardcore drinking saloon. The lights are low, the TV is playing a game show, and a bunch of dudes shooting the $hit, drinking beer and no chicks except for the bartender. Reminds me of places I used to drink at while in the Marine Corps.

The decor is all tiki stuff and the bar is a bamboo hut. What I also noticed right away is that this bar is very clean. I mean not your regular clean I mean spic and span clean. The floors were spotless, the counters dust free, everything well organized including the running tabs of dudes that owe money. I have to say I was pretty damn impressed with cleanliness of the joint. I ordered one draft beer and it was ice cold. The bartender was very friendly. My only issue with this place was I didn't feel welcomed at all by the patrons. I almost felt like I was trespassing in their private clubhouse or something. It's was odd and very creepy.

If you like dives I would check it out at least to say, "yeah I've been there." lol. Not sure if I'll venture back again because of the strange vibe. Remember to tell them that the guy who invaded their space sent you and Stay Hungry!
