Went with a party of 6 to eat last weekend and the food was great. Â Josephine's fav pizza was a table favorite as was the seafood special and fried chicken. Â The menu includes the local sub/pizza fare, but also has upscale food for dinner (crab special was great).
They had drink specials too.
We saw the new sign with "PIZZA" displayed and figured it was time to stop in again and see how the Pizza stacks up to others. Â The only disappointment was the Brick oven is not yet complete so we had to settle for a standard pizza oven. We decided to try 3 different pizzas and a Stromboli (photos attached). Our favorite was the Margarita pizza, but all were good. 3 cheese garlic and the BBQ chicken all had good flavor. Â The meat in the steak Stromboli was very tasty. All us us would order these items again. The crust was well done but just a tad and I do mean tad on the tough side. But this could be due to the late hour and close to closing time. This in no way diminished our experience. We are really looking forward to seeing the brick oven in action!
Review Source:After being 95 most of the morning, I wanted a lunch that was not fast food. The server was very nice and good. They had just put in a pizza oven and went with a pizza on the recommendation of the server. I was not disappointed, since I was very tasty. If I am on 95, in this area again and in the need of lunch, I will stop in for another meal.
Review Source:I eat out quite often and enjoy many types of food. but timbers Food is way overpriced, broccoli was mushy, they forgot condiments for sweet potato and the blackened tilapia is not teal blackened fish, just baked with some seasoning thrown on top. They have no competition  So i guess they dont have to adjust anything, but if they ever get competition in the area they will have little business
Review Source:This was my first visit after the change in ownership. Just as a note the first owner did a pretty poor job all around. I had gone twice and decided that it would never happen again.
I can honestly say Timbers is on an upswing now. Even though appearances inside are the same the menu is new and the good was pretty good. I didn't like my veggies (cut supper thin oily and less than half an actual serving) but I did like the rotisserie chicken. I will give them another try based on thelast visit. I understand there will be more changes to the restaurant over all as time comes. Also as a courtesy I'll drop them a suggestion about the veggie side dish situation.
We visit The Timbers every once in a while because we live nearby. This, however, may be the last time. I chose the prime rib that was on special for $22. To my disappointment, as I am a prime rib junkie, the prime rib was not off a fully rib roast, instead it was grilled like a regular steak and was really tough. The only saving grace was our server Monica who was really sweet and very attentive!!! I would never again pay so much money for such sub-standard food again. They need to re-evaluate their menu and pricing before we would consider another visit!!! Â Also there was an upcharge for the side salad that we were not notified of at the time it was ordered.
Review Source:The food is not good. The nachos were pushed on us and there was more lettuce than cheese. I got the flounder for my entree and it was just weird. The service was decent, but for $14 you should be able to put together a decent plate. I will not be back, probably not even if it was free.
Review Source:We had heard the food was bad, but went anyway. We ordered nachos to start. I am not sure I can paint a picture to tell you how bad they were.  They came with the usual stuff pluss runny watery yellow water  stuff in the bottom of the plate .  They were terrible! I mean how can you screw up nachos! We left.  The waitress seemed surprised. Why? If they can't do something simple....then why stay?
Review Source:Holy crap. Â This is the single worst dining experience I have ever had. Â Everything that could have gone wrong did. Â Appetizer never showed up, Â food took a long time, the tickets were all wrong, and most frustratingly, when the manager stepped in to correct all the bad tickets, he forgot about them and we were left waiting for a ridiculously long time. Â Don't go here. Â Ever.
Review Source:My mom lives close by to the Timbers and so the last time I visited, I decided to take her out to dinner since the reviews seem to be great for this place. Â Living out in the country doesn't offer too many choices in the way of decent dining so I thought it would be a great opportunity for a new place for her to go and enjoy herself on something other than fast food. Â When we were seated, I noticed that the table wasn't very clean. Â It appeared as though the plates had been removed from the previous seating but the table not wiped down. Â Not a great first impression. Â We started with the fried shrimp appetizer with thai chili dipping sauce. Â When it arrived at the table, it was steamed shell on shrimp covered in the thai chili sauce. Â We told the waitress who quickly removed them. Â We shared a salad while we were waiting since my mom's meal came with a salad and mine didn't. Â The salad was plenty big for the both of us and was quite good. Â When the shrimp arrived, we'd eaten a couple each when our dinners came out. Â I guess it was too late to hold our dinner orders after the mistake on the appetizer. Â I got the fried chicken. Â It was ok. Â It lacked seasoning and the mashed potatoes were barely warm. Â The mixed veggies were a pile of mush. Â I mostly snacked on the shrimp which were small and fried a bit too long (so much so that I didn't even realize they still had the tails on them and I'd been eating the whole shrimp not realizing it). Â My mom got the lasagna. Â It looked very cheesy and when I asked how it was she said it was ok. Â Her complaint was that there was hardly any pasta in it so it was basically a bowl of melted cheese and a bit of sauce. Â Since this was a celebration (it was Valentine's Day), we each got a piece of cake to take home. Â We got the carrot cake and chocolate cake. Â The chocolate cake had to have been from the previous week. Â It could not have gotten any drier. Â When it was poked with the fork, it crumbled. Â Really gross. Â The carrot cake however made up for it. Â It was awesome. Â The best part of the entire meal. Â Too bad the Timbers just doesn't cut it. Â I'd rather go into town than to give them another try.
Review Source:I-95 can be a food desert. So we found this spot on Yelp and stopped on a Sunday afternoon on our way to points distant. This very nice place couldn't be more convenient to both 95 and Rt.1.
We sat in the comfortable bar area where 5 flat screens glowed. Service was friendly and fast. Rotisserie and fried chicken dinners with baked sweet taters appeared. Fried beats rotisserie, which was a bit overdone, but tasty. The star of the meal was the sweet baked potato, crowned with the house special topping which made it taste like pumpkin pie! A nice surprise. Â Just 31 dollars for Sunday dinner,
To top it all off the restrooms were spotless.
Next time I might try a sandwich, but I'd definitely get that sweet tater! Tasty food that's good fer ya.
What a lucky find! Â My company hosts a Kings Dominion event every year, and every year, I stop for dinner while driving north. Â The options off of I95 from Kings Dominion until the Occoquan are pretty bad... until we stumbled upon the Timbers a few years ago.
The restaurant is a few years old, but the management keeps the place so clean that the building still looks and smells brand new. Â The service was 'north east' responsive and 'southern' friendly. Â I have three young kids and the staff was incredibly understanding and accomodating.
I am used to DC-metro prices, so entres at just over $10 is a pleasant surprise for me, and the quality of food exceeds that of any chain restaurant you might see in this corridor. Â The salads are massive and fresh (I and my wife had spinich salads and my mother had ceasar). Â Vegetable of the day was sauteed still crisp. Â Chicken was very tender, kiddie hambergers were ok (but better than other kiddie meals I can recall), and my tilapia was a little small but cooked to my liking.
The little things stand out to me. Â The cole slaw is fresh made with large chunks of vegetables and a light seasoned coating mayo. Â The kids had plenty of milk with their kids meals, and my sweet potato came with a brown sugar butter on the side. Â Note that bread is not served with the meal.
The restaurant is easy to miss as it is off a rural, wooded exit (Ladysmith Rd), but I recommend stopping by.
