Have to mark Tobacco Road sports cafe down a bit. I still think it is a great location and the food is typically pretty good. Not great, but better than most sports bars. I wish they would expand their menu a bit more some. Add some new entrees perhaps.
Most recent visit I sat on the patio with two friends. It was hot and their was a Bulls game later in the evening that we had tix too. We were sat at a very small rickety table right near the front of the patio in the hot, hot sun. When we inquired about the larger tables in the shade we were told they were "reserved". I ordered the fish gorditas. they were good and filling. I had an appetizer of chips and pico de gallo. The pico was good, but the chips didn't taste fresh (almost stale). Not worth the five dollars.
Service was a bit slow. I know they were busy and our waitress was occupied with some of the other big tables, but our wait for our check ended up making us late to the game. Also, this isn't their fault, but I wouldn't recommend sitting out on the patio during batting practice. You really have to pay attention or a ball might fly onto your plate, knock over your beer or hit you in the head.
P.S in my first review I praised this location for having a live band outside, but I don't think they do that anymore?
