Service here is pretty good but it is noisy as heck in here. Part of it's charm I'm sure but the burgers are pretty good. They cook all of them Medium well so if you're not a fan, go somewhere else.

I have had their chili cheese fries, their fried alligator and wings and I have to say, it's good, but not great. And for some reason I always end up there when they have some cover band playing music, which is entertaining for about 30 minutes but after that it gets annoying that you can't have any sort of conversation with the people you want to go have dinner with.

I know this is an FSU Staple but I mean, there are better Burgers in town. Go for lunch, and do have their mixed drinks though, very delicious.

I visited the Tomahawk for a little R & R and expected your typical bar-food-beer-joint but was pleasurably surprised to see gourmet burgers and other atypical food on the venue. I am a hamburger nut and opted for a "build it myself" burger that they didn't flinch at.

My girlfriend ordered the wings and after taking a bite insisted that I try them, too. Yadzooks they were good! My medium burger was cooked perfectly for me but she prefers well-done, so she didn't take a bite.

We washed the food down with a couple of beers, watched part of a basketball game on tv, and back to the hotel for some shut-eye before completing our trip.

I give this place five stars because the food was great, service was good, atmosphere was exactly what I wanted, and the prices were reasonable.

Went to Tomahawk last night not expecting much and was still disappointed. There is one simple thing wrong with the restaurant: Everything is frozen. I felt like Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares picking through my food just noting how awful it was. We asked the waitress what the vegetarian wings were she said "Oh you know just a bunch of vegetables. like all the vegetables we have." when she walked away i said "I'm sure they are frozen morningstar tvp wings" sure enough that's what they were. The waitress recommended the chipotle black bean burger and I had that. It was definitely frozen only moments before, came with no lettuce and tomato, frozen sauteed mushrooms and some teriyaki sauce that was so salty that I didn't even want to eat it. My side salad tasted like it'd been sitting on a shelf all night which I'm sure it had. This meal with 2 rolling rock cans (which were sent to the table with dirt all over the top of the can) was about $40. This is about what I would expect from the joker that used to own "Big Daddy's". If you're looking for better food at a better price try Birds, Parlay, the freezer aisle at Publix, Disney World, or a trash can.

Decided to check this place out because, I heard they had a lot of vegetarian options. I thought that was cool for a bro-y sports bar and wanted to see what it was all about.

Yes, there are tons of fun sounding options for vegetarians (burgers, "wings," hot dogs). However, it is just Morningstar products dressed up. At prices like that you could buy your own ingredients and feed 4 people for the price of 1 at Tomahawk. For a sports bar geared towards college students it was very expensive. Also, everything was extremely salty.

Overall: I would choose Tomahawk over other chain sports bars for the veggie options but would never just choose it.

I came through here on Thanksgiving day it met the two criteria I had, it needed to be 1) Local and 2) open. It was a pretty typical sports bar limited menu but lots of TV's. They seemed really proud of their burgers so I ordered one and some chicken wings.  The burger was . . . ok. . .  they do something to the meat to give it a funny texture and it was, in my opinion over cooked. They didn't ask how I wanted it but I like a burger medium rare this was well to medium well. They do have a lot of interesting burgers on the menu so maybe I ordered poorly.  If creative interesting burgers are your thing you might like it more than I did.
Where the place shined was the WINGS . . OH.... YES Not breaded (like say Hooters original wings)  Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside I got the honey bbq and the sauce was also very good. I'll be back for a PILE of those wings. So yeah give them a go and order a burger if that's your thing but DON'T miss the wings.

I went there about 6 months ago or so.  I ordered a bacon cheeseburger.  I was the only person in the restaurant, and it took over 30 minutes for me to receive it.  When I did, it was disgusting.  It was super greasy, and all the vegetables on it were wilted and soaked in the same grease.  It seems they took it straight out of the freezer and put it on the grill.  Greasy and tasteless.  I returned the burger after taking one bite of it and got a refund.  Haven't been back since.

Full disclosure, I was here maybe a year ago, but I've never gone back because of my experience. It took literally 2.5 hours to order, eat and get the check for a hamburger and beer for 2 people. And the kicker: we were the only people in the restaurant and we asked for the check right when we were done eating. I was truly shocked at how long it took for absolutely everything to happen at this place. To add insult to injury, the food was greasy and bad.

Best Mac and cheese! Try it on a burger.

I went a couple of nights ago for the UFC fights, the place was packed but our food came out pretty fast and we had a great time! Plus there was no cover for the fights and it was the only bar/grille in town showing them. I can't wait to go back and try the Nachos and watch some football!! Two thumbs way up!

Great selection of beers, above average staff. The bartenders are cool and the wait staff does their job well. The place is kinda small though, but you can tell how packed they are by the parking lot. If it's full, The 'Hawk is packed. The main drawback for this place though is the food. Simply put, the food here is TERRIBLE! Of the sports bars on Tenn. St. (A.J.'s, Zingales, Varsity, Cancun's), this has the worst food by far. The burgers are awful! For a couple of bucks more you can go over a few blocks to Bird's Oyster Shack and get a far, far better burger. The wings are awful! Unless you like biting into a bloody mouthful of undercooked ckicken, that is. The pizzas are awful! Actually the pizzas are rather tasty, but unless you get them during the happy hour special they are horribly overpriced. I picked one up on a 2am food run once and the damn thing was $18, for a grocery store deli heat-n-eat quality pie. Meanwhile, every major pizza joint in town has a $10 or less special for an invariably superior pie. That's a steep price to pay for waiting so late to get some 'za. The nachos are a giant pile of awful! The hot dogs are awful! Lessee, what else have I eaten here? I can't remember anything else I've tried to eat here, but if there is anything else it's probably safe to say it was awful!!

Went to this spot for the UFC fights a while back. Very small and very crowded. The food was a tad overpriced in my opinion. They do have some good drink specials. Overall to drink i would go here. Now for dinner I would probably not make the trip here. Though I saw someone order the loaded nachos and it looked like a huge portion of food. I got a burger and it was alright. Not bad but not special.

Arrived Sunday before any of the football games and sat at the bar. Had to wait well over an hour for a personal pizza and some sliders. When we finally got the food, it was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary for bar food. Beer selection is average. An okay place to go watch football games that aren't on cable, but I wouldn't go back for any other reason than that.

I came here with my daughter and a friend of hers.  The service was nothing out of the ordinary but nothing to complain about, either.  The food was about average - typical bar and grill-type food.  Understandably, this place is largely catering to a college-aged crowd so serving bar food makes sense.  We enjoyed the food we had there and would consider visiting Tomahawk again.

As a bar, this place is actually pretty good. It has a good selection of beer on tap and in bottles. Also, the fact that they were showing the UFC fight when a lot of other places were not is a plus as well. However, it quickly ends there. The food is/was absolutely terrible. They try to make it seem like the food is prepared fresh but I would bet all of my money that it is not. We ordered Sweet Potato fries and Beer Battered Mushrooms to start with. The fries weren't too bad, but the mushrooms were awful. They were frozen and soggy and tasted like absolute mush. I definitely do not recommend those to anyone.

The party that I was with ordered a little bit of everything for entrees. I ordered a simple thing: a bacon cheeseburger - which was terrible. It's like they just bought a Bubba Burger frozen patty at Publix, threw it on the grill and tried to pass it off as a burger. It was disgusting. The rest of my party were in general consensus about what they ordered as well - that it was not worth the money.

So, in summation, the only good thing about this place is the alcohol. If you go expecting a good meal, be warned. It is simply not worth it.

The Tomahawk is owned by the same guy who used to own Big Daddy's across the street. It's a sports bar, has a decent selection of beers and a pretty solid menu.

I have two reasons that I love the Tomahawk:

First, they serve their nachos in an XL pizza box. The nachos are 9 bucks, but they're pretty friggin huge so unless you're in some sort of Man vs. Food scenario you most likely won't finish.

Second, they're open to 3 am. That adds The Tomahawk to the Tallahassee late-night lineup of food joints open after last call. The Tomahawk is right there on the Tennessee strip and it fills the hole that formed in my heart after the Diner on campus closed, because it has basically the same type of drunk food the Diner had but without the 2 hour wait.

It's also a great place to buy a burger & sober up after Bull's or whatever, for those of you who like to avoid DUI's.
