The first thing you notice when you pull in to the strip mall where this bar is located is the old sign that is a torch above the bar. Â It wasn't very appealing to look at in the day but I bet it'd be awesome to see it lit up at night, if it lights up that is.
So I came here to visit a friend that got a job as a bartender and I must say that it was worth the drive. Â Bring your nightvision when you first enter the bar though because you will be blind for a good five minutes. Â It is SO dark in there! Â And one of the reasons that I don't give five stars for the Torch Room Lounge is my eyes felt funny/strained for about the first hour that I was there.
Drinks are priced extremely reasonably and if you go on a Thursday during the daytime you'll love Deb! Â No jiggers here folks. Â All the cocktails are freepoured....STRONG.
The local customers are entertaining as well, although a bit strange. Â Some guy came in and ordered a bud light on the rocks? Â Wtf lol. Â Well, until yesterday I never saw a person drink beer over ice but yeah. Â Wow. Â And this old guy was bothering my girlfriend I guess because he wouldn't shut up but I actually found him to be interesting to talk to.
I got a look at the price list and they actually have VSOP congac for only $8.00 a glass. Â I will be back for that for sure. Â I really don't like the regular VS stuff that most bars carry but I would be interested to try some VSOP again because I had a rather good experience with it last time.
Besides what I've already said this is pretty much your standard dive bar. Â Two pool tables, some golf game, a jukebox (which is actually really hi-tech) and plenty of tvs. Â Oh yeah, and the seats at the bar are quite comfortable-none of that bar stool with no backrest bs.
Well, until we meet again Torch Room.
this place look horrible from the outside... you get inside and it doesn't look much better.... but after spending some time here. i've decided i actually kinda like the spot. Â outside from the 80 lady sitting 2 seats over. Â the regulars are fairly common man and the bartender is usually the most charming aspect of the place.
Review Source:I used to work down the street from Torch Room and I had many a fun drunken nights with co-workers. Cool music on the box and a pool table. Friendly service and it almost feels like you have walked into a bar in a clint eastwood movie ha ha. Reasonably priced pitcher of beer as I recall it...
