This place is currently located at 404 Highway 28, only a mile or so off I20-59 in Livingston, AL. I tried to add a new location, but it appears to not have been accepted by Yelp.
Anyway, dining choices in this part of the state are limited to fast food or the rare non-chain restaurant. We had some business planned in Emille, AL, and this was the closest restaurant that didn't involved hot dogs on rollers.
I almost drove past this place because it wasn't where Yelp or Google Maps said it was, but rest assured, it is open. Just keep your eyes open when driving down 28.
Host was friendly, and service wasn't super fast, but adequate in speed for our needs.
Both the corn chips and salsa were good. Salsa tasted hand made, as it had no metallic or preservative flavor typical of salsa from a can served in so many Mexican restaurants.
I ordered a taco, burrito, and chili relleno from the Lunch menu. While nothing was stand out excellent, all were above average. I would fully recommend this place to anyone driving through this part of Alabama for lunch or dinner. Given it's location, a solid 4 Star restaurant!
Live in Mobile, AL. Went by and ate there this past Monday, 7/18/2011, and it was really, really good. I had the Crawfish Quesadilla Lunch special, and I'm a 230 lb. guy and it completely filled me up and it was only like $7.89. The crawfish quesadilla was excellent......Sweet tea is good there as well. I give it 5 stars......
Review Source:We were driving south and got off at Livingston looking for food other than the fast variety-it was this or pizza hut. We opted for tres hermanos. This is a clean place with friendly 'realmexican' employees. The portions are adequate and the food is pretty good. I would give this place a three but it earned a star for being original. I had fajita taco salad - Â it was ok. The beans and rice are really good - and they have free chips and salsa. The chips are served hot and the salsa served with it had good flavor even though it is very mild. Â Lunches for under $6 and dinners around ten.
Review Source:Ok, so you're driving north or south on I-20/59 between Tuscaloosa, AL and Meridian, MS and you need a quick, cheap, decent meal and don't want to get stuck at yet another chain restaurant.
Well, good luck finding any restaurant in that area that isn't a gas station or a fast food place. But Tres Hermanos is less than a mile off the interstate on the Livingston exit. I know cause I live there.
It is basic Americanized Mexican food. Service is fast and friendly and the kitchen is consistent. The locals love it for lunch and dinner. But watch out because the margaritas come in three sizes and the biggest will make it impossible to continue down the interstate without being busted for a DUI.
