GREAT dive bar....was here s. bowl sunday and they were doing thier annual chili cook off contest...abt 23 entries...we had a ball!!! after they voted (which i still think #22 should have won even though he got 3rd) they let the crowd sample all the diff. ones....some lady brought in two lg. pans of desserts...i know it had broken up heath bars and whip cream in it and it was one of the best desserts i have ever had by far!!
the coors were cold, friendly staff (met the owner....very nice) friendly people , love the peanut shells on the floor....we had  such a good time went back every nite this week...
they don't have a kitchen but you can bring in NY style pizza from across the parking lot which is very tasty.....chk it out....my favorite bar in s. lk tahoe

This is a fun little dive bar in Tahoe. Warning! Don't patronize this establishment if you have any form of a peanut allergy, you could go into anaphylaxis!

With that being said, there's definitely an older local crowd here. Nice, cheap stiff drinks with affordable deals! I came here once on a bingo night and won $50. Was a good time!

Super friendly bartenders and great service along with cheap specials keep bringing me back!

Located in the same plaza as the Artemis Mediterranean Grill, we chilled here at this divey, local bar until our seats were available for dinner.

I thought it was called The Peanut Bar based on signage outside.  Plus there are peanut shells all over the floor.  Nice divey, sports bar feel, with plenty of TVs showing motorcross, hockey, etc.  Plus a couple of pool tables.

Drinks are your standard fare although they do have a nice beer selection.

Okay, here's the thing: I LOVE dive bars. I love them the way some people love puppies and baby seals. Or maybe the way some people love kimchi and ugly children. Take your pick.

Turn 3 is (in my less than humble opinion) the best dive bar in Tahoe. It's small. It's dark. It's got peanuts all over the floor. It's got enough shite plastered on the walls to give you a migraine. It's got a pool table smack dab in the middle of the route to the bathroom, so going for a pee can be like running an obstacle course.

And two words every dive bar needs: CHEAP. DRINKS. (doubly so during happy hour). Whether it's silly drinks after work with friends, or FTW plasteredness, Turn 3 is the place.

This is a fun bar that my friends and I come to when we're all looking to go grab some brews and chit-chat. The decor is racing themed and the floor is covered in peanuts, which might bother some people but I think adds a lot of fun and character! The staff has always bee friendly and helpful every time I've been in. Definitely a place to check out if you've never been before.

Definition of a "Dive Bar". Free Peanuts for all! Specials from time to time and 2 nice pool tables. This is where you will find some of Tahoe's Finest Locals...and drunkest! Good times though. Wear your wife-beater and truckers cap here!

The Turn is exactly what it should be, and what it wants to be...a solid local dive bar with cheap drinks, great TV's with sports on, peanuts and popcorn, and a pool table to boot.  It's not the place to impress out-of-towners or have a romantic evening with the SO, but again...it's not trying to be that.  It's true to its identity, and I really like that in a bar...

The NASCAR bar.  I like it.  Pool tables, multiple sports on at once, and great prices.

$2 Coors!  Free peanuts.  Take away the TVs and turn down the lights and they'd have an actual little legit dive bar.  Never had a bad time here and yet never had a great time either.

There are two dive bars in South Lake Tahoe and neither are very friendly. Turn 3 is where the older locals go.

This bar is also known as The Peanut Bar because there are giant piles of peanut shells all over the ground.

The bartender was nice but the customers seemed kind of cliquey.

vikki must be the rudest person i have had the unfortunate experience in meeting. now i see why everyone i talked to about her rudeness, 100% of them who are local, don't go there because of her. it's not hard to be polite, especially if you work in a hole in the wall. to the owner your sales will go up if such a rude person didn't work there. her attitude is the worst of anyone at anyplace i have been in almost 10 years of living in south lake tahoe.

I really enjoy this bar... My fave bartender is Vicki.  I must admit I don't make it in there often during the winter, however, I typically visit once a week during summer time on my bike rides!!! Stop in for an excellent bloody mary and some great local conversation! See you all soon

    Total Dive, but totally great!

I love the fact that I can get as sloppy as a hobo and not kicked out!

I went into Turn 3 just the other week while visiting Tahoe with some buddies.  We told the guy at our hotel that we just wanted to pound beers all night and not change out of our ski clothes.

He told us to go to Turn 3.

I loved it.  I think I even like NASCAR now.

We were in South Lake Tahoe in a rental with no tv and the 2010 Olympics were starting. We had to catch a few events and why not do so over a beer? Billed as SLT's only Nascar bar we were not sure what to expect. At least there would be plenty of tvs and a better chance to catch a few events. Turned out to be great. Sarah was great fun to chat with and put Olympics and a few NHL games on (beginning of the games so the NHL was still playing that day) for us. All around it was a friendly atmosphere and the non-stop peanuts were a plus.

Best Bloodys. Real people bar-tending.  Pool tables. Way better than Brothers.

My favorite bar in SLT and I was lucky enough to live stumbling distance.  With that said, this is my biased opinion.  Free peanuts, popcorn, and sometimes hot dogs.  Every once in a while there will be a chili cook-off too.  Two pool tables and on one day of the week (can't remember what day), it's free pool night.  TV's all around if you want to solo drink and/or watch a sports game (Fuel TV is always playing).  Good selections and good deals.  $2 PBR and Coors Original all day everyday.  Correct me if I'm wrong but it's also $3.50 for a Bloody Mary and a Coors early Sunday afternoons.  Bartenders can be very generous with their pours.  Usually not too crowded.

Turn 3 is absolutely the perfect dive bar. I loved the atmosphere with multiple TVs, peanuts on the floor and a very liberal pour from the bar tender.

You know it's a good spot when the locals in a tourist trap town come and hang out.

Fun place, good people, great prices and watch out for the heavy pour!

LOVE THIS DIVE BAR!  As an out-of-towner I felt at home here.  I really wanted to see the San Jose Sharks play while I was in town.  I was not disappointed with this place.   Loved the free peanuts and the great bartending.  I am going back in two nights for the next Sharks game.  I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a comfortable environment to watch an out of town game since they have at least the NFL Ticket and NHL's Center Ice!

order a $1.50 PBR, grab some peanuts from the bin, throw the shells on the ground or use them to reserve your space at the pool table--then repeat. sometimes the pool is even free. dice games for money have also been known to happen, and last time i even won enough to pay for my PBR!

great local crowd and the tattooed, guy bartender is fantastic. by far my favorite place to grab a pint and just relax. if you are looking for a break from the casino madness this is it

Do not be afraid by the old men sitting at the bar who all know each other.  It's the locals joint for locals only.  But we'll let you stop by anyways.  Pacman, a couple pool tables, and all the peanuts you can eat are here for your enjoyment.  It's also the only good sports bar in town, with 6 full flatscreens.  They even turned the tour de france on for me all summer, despite the fact that I'm the only local who cared.  Hoorah!
