This review is strictly for the Avery Ave location.
I've had their pizza plenty of times. In short, it's a great pie. I favor this locations pizza over the others.. not sure but I think it's the oven. It just tastes better here.
We've dined in the restaurant a few times and for a very casual place they serve some great food. We had multiple apps, baked ziti and meatballs, pasta and vodka sauce and wine. Lots of food and all for under $50. Really can't beat it for some good comfort food.
On a road trip from Canada to Philly we turned to YELP for dinner suggestions. Â With 2 kids our options are limited, so a family restaurant that specialized in pizza was ideal. Â The food was fantastic. Â We got the pizza/wings special and both were delicious. Â The decor is your classic family owned and operated Italian restaurant: wood paneling, non sensical decor, random white Christmas lights, etc. (I'm Italian so I am allowed to say that). Â Our server, Holly, was outstanding- SO NICE to our kids (and our 3 yo could not have been more badly behaved.... She brought over a tub of lollipops at the end of dinner, so sweet). Â For a no frills, yummy, laid back dinner GO TO TWIN TREES!
Review Source:We just moved to the area (im originally from LI) and wanted some pizza, beer and wings. Not knowing where to go we checked out yelp and am super glad we did. The inside is dated but the staff was super friendly. We ordered one of the many meal "deals" they offer. We got a large onion and pepper pizza, two dozen wings (bbq and hot) a pitcher of beer (you can do soda too) and a medium (but feed 4 hungry adults) anti pasta salad. All for 36.99! Â Pizza was good, doughy, but most pizza up here is made like that. Sauce was sweeter than I normally like but was fresh tasting. We like our wings crispy and they were perfect! The anti pasta was delicious and feed all four of us with some to spare. The pizza slices are cut into slim rectangles which i have never seen before but it still tasted good. They offer excellent deals everyday of the week and mon-thurs special. All and all we will be back!
Review Source:To me, this place really embodies what syracuse is like as a whole. Â It's a family style place with italian food. Â I've only been to the north syracuse location, but we always leave there full to beyond capacity and ready to give birth. Â They have a great salad bar and food is good, but probably nothing you can't make yourself. Â Dishes are also geared towards gaining weight, expect a lot of oil and butter. Â I really wish they'd have a whole wheat pasta option. Â But overall, worth the visit when you are starving. Â Prices are also good for the quantity of food.
Review Source:IMHO, best location is in East Syracuse. This is one of the better local pizzerias in general.
Pros: Fantastic NY Style pizza, great subs, very reasonable/competitive prices.
Cons: Their slices are square! As a pizza lover, this offended me, but I bounce back pretty quickly. The building(s) at most locations are slightly dumpy.
This place is average. Suppossed to be the best Pizza around. Only lived here a year when we ate here and already had pizza in the area that was better then this place. Gotta give them the benefit of the doubt since so many people have different taste for pizza. Reasonable prices. Atmosphere was very dated and old looking. Can't think of much that I would be excited to tell someone about this place.
Review Source:The best locations are the North Syracuse and Solvay ones. Â Their pizza rocks! Â The pizza pies come in long, thin, rectangular slices. Â Salad bar is very clean and packed with fresh ingredients. Â Wings are good, especially the garlic ones. Â Not a fancy place, a clean, family restaurant with good service and no frills. Â Whole family loves this place.
Review Source:This is my favorite pizza place in Syracuse by far. Â Although they don't sell slices, when you're in the mood for pizza, I highly recommend Twin Trees. Â The one we go to is on Route 57 in Liverpool, but I've been to a few of the others and they never disappoint. Â In fact, even when we lived almost a half hour away we would travel to TT to pick up pizza at least once a month.
Give them a try!
Apparently this place wins "best pizza in Syracuse" yearly. I don't know what that says about the quality of food in Syracuse. Like so many restaurants in Syracuse this place also had faded green cloth napkins and decor from 1983. I think it's supposed to feel homely.
The pizza was okay. Nothing special. And the rest of the portions of food were gigantic. My friend ordered a side of gnocchi and we were pretty certain that the dish contained at least a week's worth of calories. Everything was pretty heavy and greasy.
On the positive side, the staff were exceptionally friendly and pleasant and in a very genuine way. I felt like I was being served by a real person. We had a large party and some pretty complicated (ie, exceedingly fussy) orders and our waitress  was in great spirits about it--she joked around with us, seemed to really enjoy what she was doing. It was nice! After dinner I wanted to give her a big hug to say thanks!
After skiing at Song Mountain all day my parents took me to Twin Tree's Restaurant. Â There are several Twin Trees in the Syracuse. Â I have both order pizza and ate at the Twin Trees II location on Milton Ave but this is the first time I have been to the Avery Ave location.
In the Syracuse area Twin Trees is considered the best pizza. Â I actually think that this is some of the best pizza I have ever had. Â There is just something about pizza in Syracuse.
People come to Twin Trees for the pizza but it also has a full menu. Â I would describe the menu as Italian Diner fair. Â Lots of home pasta as well as meat, chicken and fish items prepared either Italian or Americana style.
The atmosphere is neighborhood sports bar with full service restaurant. Â
We ordered two small pizzas (one garlic and one cheese with pepperoni). Â We almost ordered 1 small and 1 large but we changed our mind and made them both smalls. Â This was the right thing to do since we had plenty to eat and still had lots leftover for the next day lunch. Â
Since the pizzas were coming later than usual the server offered to bring out bread. Â This contributed to a carb over load that we probably did not need. Â I also order the small chef salad with crumbled bleu cheese dressing (a Syracuse standard) which is home made italian dressing mixed with crumbled bleu cheese.
In the end it turned into a great night out with my parents. Â Not a bad way to close out a full day of skiing.
Twin Trees is always crowded so expect a wait on Friday and Saturday evenings. Â Especially the early dining hours.
