A cute bakery up on the hills. Delicious almond croissants and earl grey tea lattes. Had soy milk option, which is appreciated!! Very welcoming service.

    Soooo yummy.

This little bakery in the middle of nowhere has delicious espresso and treats. Lovely women run it. Its been in business for ten years.

Go early. Pastries fly away fast. We got.there sbout 10:20 and got the last of a few things. A crowd came in about 11 and got the rest.

We had an almond croissant, a chocolate croissant, a cinnamon sugared morning bun, and a heavenly slice of ham and gruyere quiche. Omg the quiche...fluffy egg, flaky crust....awesome. All the treats were wonderful.

    Perfect mochas.
By the register the delicious morsels of macaroons dipped in chocolate tempted too much.  $5 for a bag of six. Mine!

Go. Go early. You won't be sorry.

I want to share that Twofish bakes wonderful delights.  Their bread is out of this world, sticky buns are delish, and croissants are flaky as much as they are tasty.  The pizzas they offer on Friday and Saturday nights are equally fabulous.  However, customers should be aware of the caveat that too often accompanies a trip to Twofish.  Their bakery items and pizzas are wonderful, IF they are available.  Neither their website nor at the store is there information that sandwiches and pizzas are technically completed by special order.  Locals know to pre-order these items, but many potential customers leave the store frustrated that bakery items are no longer available.  I was there this morning at 9:30 and there was only one scone and three almond croissants available.  While there (enjoying one of the croissants with out-of-town friends), within 15 minutes we witnessed six people arrive who left after noting there was very little left to eat.  In the past, I arrived at noon to get a sandwich, only to be told (complete with condescending attitude) that "we are out of sandwiches, you have to call ahead of time to get one". I attempted to get a pizza on a Friday at 6 p.m. and was told "we are out of pizzas".  Out of breakfast items at 9:30? Out of lunch items at noon?  Out of dinner items at 6 p.m.?  I do not understand why a bakery would run out of items during the peak time customers are seeking their goodies.  I took a chance this morning since I had out-of-town guests but we were all equally disappointed at the lack of product.  This place needs some serious competition!

Two Fish is ok and probably the best option at the south end of Sea Ranch if you dont mind waiting until a late 8:00am open. After all the fuss, I was expecting something special but really just a small selection of family baked goods: croissants and sticky buns. I'm not sure why they don't offer a wider selection of baked goods. Many of my favorite bakeries elsewhere are much smaller kitchens with staff of 1 or 2 but offer dozens of pastries and breads.  The customers were mostly adled city dwellers excited about a latte.

Definitely worth a visit if you are at SR on the days they are open for business.

Oh my gosh, the quiche was to die for!! Fluffy, custardy, creamy, and so decadent, it was pretty sinful. So yes, the lines are long, and you better get in one because otherwise you won't get to enjoy their breakfast delights, but oh so worth it! We loved everything we tasted at this wonderful little local spot, and cannot wait to come back and enjoy their breads and pastries again.

This place is as good as the Yelpers say! So impressed. We tried the turkey sandwich and an Italian meat sandwich. So tasty, the bread so fresh, the other ingredients also so well incorporated. We love love loved their lemon bundt cake- first shared a slice, it was sooooo good and fresh, we went back to get a slice each of our own! We also tried their oatmeal cookie and peanut butter cookie. Hands down some of the tastiest and freshest cookies we ever had!

We highly, highly recommend this little bakery. What a gem in the little town.

The suggestion to make reservations for certain items is highly recommended. They do run out of items- QUICK!! We happened to beat two families into the store, grabbed the last two sandwiches- the second family after us were left only with baguettes and some ice cream- sorry!

Lastly- the ladies who own and run the place are so nice and funny. We love Twofish Baking Co. Can't wait to go back!

We've been coming to sea ranch or 20 years and one of the things that we had always wished for was a good local bakery/coffee shop/patisserie type of place.  I'm not sure when Twofish opened for business but we recently stopped by and the reviews are on the money.

The pastries are outstanding, from the sticky buns to...well, I don't know the names of all the morning pastries, but we're working our way through them. I happen to not be a fan of pastries as a general rule since they give me heartburn. So far, no heartburn with two fish baked goods. It's likely because of the quality, unprocessed ingredients, but whatever it is, it tastes great.

We also had pizza last night ...a veggie and a Hilla's thrills (soppressata and hot honey). My wife loved the hilla's, especially the hot honey (I don't eat meat pizzas so I took her word). I lived in New York for a long tome so I'm partial to the basic NY style pizza (grimaldis, in particular) and the two fish style pizza is more towards a typical California style (think cheese board in Berkeley). A damn good pizza, for sure.

The vibe is perfectly sea ranch, the quality high. I hope they continue to thrive and would love to see them branch out with a cheese shop and maybe a local produce market...

I was lucky enough to eat lunch AND dinner here in the same day! Well, go figure that this is one of the only restaurants in the whole town.  The restaurant space is bright and airy, something all the architects in Sea Ranch would appreciate.

First, the turkey and cranberry sandwich for lunch was heavenly. Caramelized onions put it over the top. It could have used a little cream cheese though for some contrast. For dinner, the Italian pizza was good. Definitely not anywhere near the best I've had, but for a small town place, it satisfies.

I may not remember the sandwich or the pizza years from now, but the one sour thing I took from this restaurant experience were the elitist patrons. This was my first visit to Sea Ranch, and although the rest of the town was friendly and welcoming, the crowd here at dinner was strange.  The communal table in the restaurant is meant to bring people together and enjoy the food.  Sadly, with open seats next to my party, people that came in afterward were offered the open seats by the waitress, but they declined, and stood waiting for other tables to open up.  The slap in the face was when people on the other end of the communal table finished and left - THEN the new customers proceeded to sit down, as far away from my party as possible.  This happened twice.  And it wasn't that they were trying to have a private, intimate dinner; they were younger groups of friends.  Last I checked it was 2013.

Just updating this review based on our annual trek to Sea Ranch.  Pastries are still just amazing - we had chocolate croissant, sticky bun, ham/cheese croissant.  Pre-ordered/picked up some baguettes which made great sandwiches for lunch today.

The owners are very friendly, even to non-locals.  However, their staff need to be better trained on taking large, multiple-item orders; the staff person that took my order on Saturday completely missed my order for two pizzas, much to the sadness and dismay of my group (granted, this staff person looked like she has trouble counting past the number 10, so maybe it was Help-Out-The-Local-Village-Idiot Day).

Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area.  Fresh baked goodness.  Friendly staff.   We ordered the sticky bun even though I am not a fan.  But, now I AM!

I LOVE Twofish! Every Saturday starts with a Morning Bun and Americano (made by Hilla). We then hike 7+ miles and return to Twofish for lunch. Typically I get there veggie sandwich or tuna sandwich but everything they make is delicious! If you are counting on lunch I recommend you place an order in advance. They often sell out.

Twofish has been an excellent addition to our local community. I highly recommend them! They truly are the real deal when it comes to quality and taste! Not to mention they are just all around good peeps too!

The baked goods and their pizza are first rate. Everything tends towards the high calorie, high fat end, but you are on vacation so why not splurge. The service is pleasant and professional. Seating is quite limited, so it's best to plan for takeout.

My one complaint is the limited schedule--they only open Thursday thru Sunday and only make pizza on weekend evenings--and the fact that they are so popular they run out of product early. The best breakfast pastries can be gone by 9am.

Try the morning buns or the sticky buns, you won't regret it!

Sure Sea Ranch is a small town, but they sure know how to do it right. In addition to breakfast sweets, Twofish makes bread, granola, scones and, on special nights, pizza! They also serve coffee, beer and wine.

We took a half dozen combo of the ginormous sticky buns and morning buns, took it back to our crew of 8 and they were gone within an hour. They're just that good.

    I know my sticky buns.

I know the quality ones from the lackluster ones.

I can tell which ones have been stirred with care, and which ones have been kneaded and rolled with good intentions.

Twofish Baking Co's sticky buns are heavenly and overw-flowing with positivity.

    They're the real deal.

I don't normally indulge in sugary things of late - but after glimpsing the cardboard box full of Twofish decadence - still warm out of the baking oven - I just had to do some sampling.

My tastebuds somersaulted. My tongue danced.

They were unbelievable - and well worth the sugar rush which resulted afterwards.

If you happen to be relaxing up in lovely Sea Ranch don't skip a visit to Twofish.

Love in every perfect pastry bite.

    Trust.

A nice surprise in a sleepy community. My lovely lady friend and I drove her flashy new orange Prius over to enjoy some Java and breadstuff. We had to wait a little while to put in our order but enjoyed gawking at the stacked array of beautifully baked goods. I ordered, for the first time, a London Fog Latte which is Earl Grey tea with a splash of Vanilla syrup and foam on top. Not only was my drink made to order but the cup they served it in seemed like the ideal container for this particular drink.
If your in the area and craving a New England feel coffee/bakery then definitely stop in. These bakers & baristas are very good at what they do.

Just want to weigh in here.

We arrived at 12:30 for lunch and took the last 2 of the most delicious turkey and cranberry sandwiches I've ever had.

Get there early if you want more selection, but it was a wonderful spot and definitely worth the visit.

In the short span on a few hours (near the end of our most recent Sea Ranch vacation), we two hungry grown-ups tried (1) a cinnamon sticky bun, (2) a cinnamon bun, (3) a currant-orange scone and (4) a veggie pizza.

What can be said that hasn't been said?  Well, since it's been established that EVERYthing served there is skilful, inspired constructions of only the best ingredients (yes!), may we urge you to remember that the offerings and the hours are decidedly eccentric.  I'm not sure it's clear that they don't serve everything at all hours of the day.    For example, the cinnamon buns are available on Friday and Saturday only, and you better get there at 8:00am or you'll miss out.  And the sticky buns (a gorgeously gooey treat) is available Weds and Thurs only at 8:00am.

And pizza.  They start taking orders at 5:00pm, Friday or Saturday, and it helps if you call in your order.  It'll be ready in 20--35 minutes.

It may also be available on Weds and Thurs.  Heck, just call 'em.

Sorry this is kind of scrambled.  I'm just trying to make sure you understand that they run out of stuff real fast.  But that is the only disappointment we've had with 2Fish.

PS.  To get there, you drive to the southern end of Sea Ranch on Hwy 1, looking for Annapolis Road --- connects with hwy 1 about 1-2 miles NORTH of the Sea Ranch Lodge.  Turn onto Annapolis and head East up the ridge, and a short mile, at the top, where the airstrip is, you'll find Verdant View, coming in from the right. You're several driveways from pure joy.

Stopped here to get a sandwich and had to buy a loaf of bread for the road. So good.

We also bought a dog biscuit, and I wouldn't be surprised if the dog never wanted anything else.

We have always enjoyed the fine quality of the bakery goods.  Recently we enjoyed their pizza.  It is all about quality, and Two Fish has always delivered for us.  Newcomers should be aware of the popularity of this establishment and their loyal clientel.  This sometimes translates into occasional long lines and running out of favorite items.  Most everyone believes it is more than worth the wait, and having to try something new is usually a blessing in disguise.

Absolutely wonderful and delicious bakery.  We are so lucky we got to try their pizza on our most recent visit.  My daughter LOVED the "white pizza" which is a huge compliment, as she is 4 and 1/2 and very particular.  Thank you, Margaret and Hilla!

PIZZA, BEER, WINE AND MORE...Fridays 5 to 9PM at TwoFish! Absolutely the best Italian pizza I have ever tasted. That was all I had. Can't wait to go back for the warm olive appetizer, the salads, everything! Seating is sort of family style. Be prepared to meet new friends. Or call in and take it home.

Great place.  Wish more independent high quality places like this in the area, but I know it's hard to sustain a business here.  Sticky bun (A), morning bun (A-), croissant (B+), lemon scone (A), cappuccino (B+), staff (A+).  This place was wonderful to find on a Friday morning.  My young daughter offered a huge smile when we opened the door to the beautiful smell, warm interior and friendly staff.  I can't wait to try their sandwiches, pizza and challah bread.  Thanks for getting up at 3 a.m. 5 days a week.  You are appreciated.

Really great coffee and tea drinks. Awesome baked goods. Bummer they're not open Mon-Wed, but understandable. Go here to get coffee as Trinks can be bitter and sour. The only thing that would clinch this spot over Trinks would be free wi-fi. An easy upgrade to encourage folks to choose them over Trinks. However, it doesn't seem like they are struggling in the least.

Two Fish consistently makes THE BEST margerita pizza!  The dough and crust are delicious, the toppings are fresh and of the highest quality, the flavor and consistency are simply outstanding.  The best way to do it is to call ahead and order them, let them know you'll be in around noon to pick them up.  We frequently bring them home to eat.  For a place that is best known for its SPLENDID morning pastry treats (the best on the north coast), their pizza sure is fabulous TOO.  I can't recommend Two Fish ENOUGH!

There's a Stepford-like vibe to Sea Ranch that honestly spooks me a bit every time I pass by those identical-looking upscale houses and especially that 1970's-era ram's head logo emblazoned on the public buildings. The ram horns curl up in what looks like eyeballs stalking your every move on the property. Creepy. Such was the feeling Jamie W. and I had as we were driving up Annapolis Road looking for this bakery. You turn a corner and end up at the strangest-looking strip mall with yes, that ram's head logo staring at you (see photo). But alas, the bakery.

Before walking inside, I was worried that we would be greeted by women with glazed-over faces and Princess Leia hairdos that mirror the ram's head logo. But no, we were greeted warmly by a female crew that looked to be cleaning up after a morning rush on their goodies. We were there around 1PM, so there wasn't much left. But what was left was cherce. We decided to try two goodies for about $4 a piece. We tried an Apricot Window Pane, a lovely cookie-like pastry with a gloss of fresh apricot preserve that indeed looks like a window pane (see photo).

But the showstopper was the most simple, a slice of their Lemon Cake, which was unbelievably moist and amazingly not heavily citrus in flavor (see photo). Unlike Franny's Cup and Saucer, which we would visit later that afternoon, Two Fish is not so much focused on sweet confections with frosting but more the breads, granola and pastries you like to wake up to if you didn't have to consider the consequences of the carbs later. It may be worthwhile to stay overnight in Sea Ranch in order to try a bigger selection of their specialty baked goods. Even if it does mean I have to join the ram's head cult that must exist here.

    BAKED GOODS - 5 stars...delicious, buttery...someone stop me!
AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...the bakery is huge, the seating is mostly outside
    SERVICE - 3.5 stars...certainly friendly enough
TOTAL - 5 stars...that lemon cake lingers on my palate

Actually I have to give an incomplete grade. We got there at 11:00 am on Sunday and there were only 2 things left in the display, a cookie and one piece of bread pudding. I wasn't feeling either one. My wife ordered OJ, and they were out of that as well. I guess you do have to get there early, but come on I am on vacation 11:00 am is early. I guess when the average age of the locals is 72,  11am is almost bed time, or at least nap time. Come on.. I am just joking....kinda.

Wow, who would have thought there'd be such an AMAZING bakery in the sleepy town of Sea Ranch?!  The pastries here were absolutely delish!!  Flaky yet crispy, sweet but not too sugary, and buttery but not too rich...perfectly balanced flavors and textures in each luscious bite!  I was in breakfast heaven as I gorged on their almond croissant (my fave), scone, and cinnamon roll.

Good thing I can get my pastry fix at Tartine Bakery in SF, otherwise I'd have to brave the treacherously windy roads up to Sea Ranch more often!

Delightful bakery at the Sea Ranch. We had a scone, chocolate croissant and also got a loaf of the sourdough. Also one of the yummiest chai lattes I have had in a while.

The are open the latter part of the week and weekends, so it's worth calling to confirm they are open. There was a line out the door both days I was there and you could tell it was a place were everyone was welcome. Super friendly staff and all the customers are chill and patient. Can't wait to go back once we make our move up north and try the lunch items!

I really like Two Fish Bakery.  It has charm, uber friendly staff and a real sense of community.  Pick something out of the case, order a warm drink and go sit on the patio and enjoy the morning sun before an action packed day.  You can get sandwiches from here as well.

We had the coffee cake and the lemon olive oil cake this time around.  Coffee cake was okay, but the GF makes a coffee cake that puts it to shame.  I love olive oil baked goods, and the lemon cake was no exception!

-1 star for never having breakfast stuff.  Unless you want to wake up at the butt crack of dawn and get there as soon as they open between 7 and 8 a.m.  Which I would rather not, since I am on vacation.  Why don't they just bake more!

We rented a place in Sea Ranch for a few days & ended up fairly close to this place.  In a word - super tasty.

We never bought the same thing twice.  Partly because they run out of stuff early, partly to try a few different things.  The whole grain bread had just the perfect crust and great flavor, the chocolate croissant is simple and only mildly sweet (which is the right way for a chocolate croissant), and my girlfriend is already mourning the loss of her granola - even though she went back for a 2nd bag before we left and has not run out yet.

It really is that good.  If we're ever passing by that part of the coast, I could easily see us taking the long way and stopping in at Two Fish.

I found this place quite spontaneously over Labor Day when they put a sign on Highway 1 and so I drove up Annapolis Rd. and found it. Very cool bakery with amazing products from homemade granola to pizza to bread to coffee. A cozy little outdoor dining area and the people that gather there are great fun to talk with. I've made it a new 'regular' stop whenever I'm passing through the neighborhood.

Don't come here. I don't want you here. Don't buy that brioche. Stop eyeing that morning bun. That's mine. Get away. Put down the brioche and no one gets hurt.

Seriously if you find this place? Keep your mouth shut. Tell no one. This is just between us. Too many people already know as it is! Sometimes there is NO BRIOCHE AFTER 9AM!!!!! 9. A. M.!!!!!!

You normally need an elaborate system of blaring sirens and winches and pulleys to get out of bed any time before 9 AM.  But when you're spending a lazy weekend up on the north coast, you actually wake up bright and early simply because you're too excited by the natural world around you to wallow in the sheets.  You wake up mentally and physically hungry, and you want the best food to accompany the sweet, pungent air and the amazing views all around you.

So you head over early to Twofish Bakery, and you pick up amazing croissants, rolls, baguettes, and whatever other baked goods you fancy that morning.  You take them back to your little secret coastal getaway, fix yourself up a mug of warm green tea, and go to town as you stare at the waves.  You are a good citizen of the environment and eat every last crumb instead of letting them drop on the ground where deer or birds might come across them.  That's what you say to yourself, but we all know it's because you can't bear to waste a single tasty morsel.

That's how my mornings on the north coast are, thanks to Twofish.

It's been awhile since I hit up this bakery, but if they're still selling the Sea Ranch Lodge Cookbook do grab it.  An old-school, spiral-bound cookbook by locals that focuses on seasonal coastal produce, it's a great find for any foodie.

They offer up delicious freshly baked goods daily.  Be sure to get their early, as the other review states, because they do run out quickly.  Their bread is amazing, especially their baguette .  It is crisp, chewy, and extremely flavourful - it's one of the best that I've ever had.  As for drinks, their espressos are pretty good.  Their sandwiches are pretty tasty as well, but they run out very quickly.

Two Fish has quickly become a Sea Ranch institution in the few short years that it has been operating.  You can't beat its convenient location in Sea Ranch - it's the only place for breakfast and lunch besides the Lodge in Sea Ranch.
