I can't say enough good things about Uncle Jack's BBQ. Friendly staff, fair prices, and GREAT barbeque! Worth the drive from Salem any day of the week.

We got here late, just before they were closing and we were hungry.. They had ran out of almost everything that they made that day.
We got some burnt ends, chicken, ribs and smoked prime rib..
All of the food was really good. We'll go back when the place isn't getting ready to close so we can try out their pulled pork and other tasty treats!

We found Uncle Jack's in Amity today and became fans!  I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was really good.  The brisket looked fabulous -- all meat, almost no fat.  I'll order that on my next visit.  I thought the beans to be just okay but our riding partners thought they were great.  The slaw was tasty and I'm told the mac salad was as well.

Really good food, good service and friendly owner.

Stopped by after a wine tasting trip. They advertised tri-tip as their special of the day. Apparently it's not on the regular menu, but they try to do it every Tuesday and Saturday.

I ordered the tri-tip. It is fine. Just fine. In fact, I will be returning, that's how fine it is.

The best surprise though was the BBQ sauce. They have regular (tasty, but boring) and a spicy BBQ.

This "spicy" BBQ rocks. It's not ghost pepper craziness, but it is indeed hot and spicy.

Joint was small but nice atmosphere. Employees were nothing but courteous. I go through this area frequently, and have actually gone out of my way now two more times to order from them. Good food, and GREAT portions. The loaded mash potatoes are a particular favorite. Assuming you like bacon. If you don't like bacon, then we have nothing more to talk about.

My husband and I are both huge fans of the pulled pork sandwich with the spicy barbecue sauce! We love the small town atmosphere and the quick service. My husband especially loves the basket of peanuts they provide at each table, but he especially like that they let you throw the shells on the floor!

We drove to Amity to give Uncle Jack's a try for the first time. It's a tiny corner eatery with massive log furniture and big tubs of peanuts on the tables. Yup. You throw the shells on the floor. It's bright, clean and cheery.

All the Que items sounded good, so I just splurged on a $21.95 Sampler Basket. The Chicken Hind Quarter was amazing; smoky, juicy and tender. The Pulled Pork was moist, lean and tender and the Rib Meat fell off the bone and was smoky, moist and flavorful. I thought both Pork Meats were saltier than I would have liked, but I'm overly salt sensitive. The Brisket, I thought, fell on its nose a little. It was fatty (Always the luck of the draw with Brisket.) and was sliced with the Meat's grain. These meaty delights came with a Soft Dinner Roll, house-made Baked Beans (Great Northern, Kidney, Lima, and Garbanzo) which were fantastic and sweet home-made Slaw.

This spread is designed to feed two or three people so I was nowhere near being able to put it all away, but I wanted to try everything.

Two BBQ Sauces were available; one sweet and one tangy. Both were good but I leaned toward the tangy.

SWMBO had a Brisket Sandwich sans Sauce and Chicken Chili. Lettuce, Tomato Onion and Pickles were on the side. Her Brisket was sliced with the grain also which tended to pull out of the sandwich with each bite. (I've found that when Brisket/Corned Beef/Pastrami type Meats, slicing it across the grain makes for much easier and more enjoyable eating.) She liked the Sandwich and loved the Chili. She also thought my BBQ Chicken was some of the best she'd tried.

The folks here were friendly and the service was just fine.

Uncle Jack learned his craft in BBQ competitions and by "trial and error". Wherever he picked it up along the way, we think he got it mostly right.

Note: Could have done without the loud sports event on TV.

Been there twice in the last 30 days.  Spare Ribs are falling off the bone yummy (a bit salty, but tasty!), the half chicken was good too.  Nice side sauces (spicy and regular).  The BBQ beans were NOT runofthemill, and oh-so-good, and even had chunks of meat in them.  Eat in or out, call ahead.  They smoke/bbq the meat right there. Great portion sizes.  Nice cozy place with historical photos on the walls and shell some peanuts while u wait.  They do catering too.  Help a great and local small business!
