Been coming here for year's, it has a very nice environment. Â Mostly college students from the university come here to socialize and study with the free Wi-Fi. Â Its a nice place to meet up with friends and just relax and enjoy your evening. Â Its a good place to bring friends even a first date if you want someplace that you can carry a conversation. Â There's even convenient restaurants next door that you can get food, I suggest to anyone to give it a try!

Tried a mixture of flavors and it was great.On top of that, he didn't charge extra for mixing.
The atmosphere is very laid back and chill, not too noisy but not quiet enough to where it is awkward. Â If you're into blowing o's and doing tricks I would not recommend you to sit outside since it is windy in Riverside.:)
It is also next to various fast food places and Starbucks, making it a very convenient location.
Will definitely return to try more flavors!
LOWDOWN:
Visited Riverside and near UCR is this really cool hookah lounge. Apparently everyone from the area loves to chill at this place. I'd love to come back again and try different flavors!
FLAVORS:
MINT, LEMON & ORANGE- you may think it's too citrus-y but it's perfect. The shisha did not get harsh at all. This combo adds a kick and a "cooling sensation" to every hit you take without ice. Tasty flavor too.
TROPICAL PARADISE- got harsh and got over the flavor farely quickly.
SERVICE/VIBE:
The guy with coal is always around checking up on you. The staff is definitely friendly and down to give suggestions of flavors. I only have issues with the ambience. There were weird music videos playing on the flat screens. It was a little too quiet. I usually like good music  bumpin' throughout the place while I'm 'halin.  Overall comfortable couches and very clean bathroom.
PARKING:
There's a parking structure and lot in the back. You can enter through this way as well.
TIPS/NOTES:
- You can mix 3 flavors in one Hookah!
- If you become a regular the staff will notice you and can give discounts!
I go to all the hookah lounges in Riverside. My first visit here was great, specially when I needed to escape and relax in a great atmosphere, while I work on some projects on my laptop. Free wifi and a great selection of sheesha. Manny is a very great host, owner and friend. Always tending to customers when they walk in. Everyone is greeted and handed a menu, I always ask for recommendations for sheesha, NEVER disappointed. The coworkers are great as well, always tending to your coals. I always recommend friends and family to come here for a local hookah experience.

First of all if your into blowing clean o's and tricks , not the spot. Very windy.
Came in with five people asking if we can just get one hookah.
They said its gonna be 5$ each person.
Two people werent even gonna hookah but it didnt even matter. so we were forced to get two hookahs.
Hookah wasnt as milky as expected.
They came to ash it and one of the workers blew the ashe at me. I made a little motion as some hit my hand and arm.
Worker didn't budge to saying anything. Hence one star.
Never planning on coming back again.

Great great great. Nice date night go me and the hubby. Even when the place got busy, still felt cozy. The flavored were great and prices more than fair. The owner was cool and explained a little hookah etiquette to us, kindly. Even though we live an hour away we wiill definitely go back!!

Awesome atmosphere, nice music, specially the arabic style..... U can relax  after a long day at school, do ur homework, and chat wz friends . U can also grab ur food from nearby and enjoy it here.... They don't mind sharing a hookah, and the prices r so reasonable.

After surviving a drive from SD to Riverside with the kids that I KNOW secretly take shots of Mountain Dew when I'm not looking... I decided to establish my hookah lounge for our Riverside visits. Â
My perfect hookah experience involves double apple, coals always checked on, with a variety of background music (that STAYS in the background) and some kind of basketball or soccer game playing on multiple screens. Â Must have comfy seating, cards available, oh...and tables. Â So, my first check-in I comment "nice lounge, could use some tables". Â Not more than one hour later, the owner is next to me offering an explanation of not having tables out on Saturday night (it's not a big study time). Â But offers kindly to grab a table for me from the back area. Â Now, that's customer service.
With all items checked above, I can say University Lounge is a fantastic hookah experience. Â The vibe is good - a girl with her newspaper can be left alone OR you can sit with a circle of friends conversating away while playing a game. Â Wish they would play more Arabic music (for me it compliments the hookah experience). Â Â The owner makes his own hoses, pays attention to customers request and is very friendly. Â Shisha hits good and the flavor is perfect...if not, they will fix it promptly. Â And the pricing is GREAT (catch them on a Ladies Night...$8 hookah!!).

I love this place, and the owner is delightful.
So close to UCR, just a short walk away even. Couldn't get a better location! The atmosphere here is wonderful, it's more intimate than some hookah bars that I've been to (and I've been to several). The prices are more than decent, and as far as I remember (since I quit smoking, I've been trying to stay away from hookah as much as possible... sad) they have specials and deals often, including a ladies' night! I used to go here in undergrad with friends a lot, and we had fun always no matter how big the group was.
The servers are helpful and attentive, and really nice! Comfy couches, too. If you like to smoke hookah, and especially if you live in Sterling OR are stuck in the dorms without a car, PLEASE check this place out... you won't regret it!
P.S. Waaaaaay better than Mediterranean Palace, down the street... do yourself a favor and pass MP right up and come here.
The owner really know their Hookah and really tries to get to know their customers, their taste and how to make them comfortable. Normally, I find Hookah lounges rather tacky, like a cheap Las Vegas Hotel. Yes, bitch and complain there is nothing to do around UC Riverside, but get a small group and spend a few hours on a Friday night at University Hookah. If you have never smoked it before, this is a wonderful place for the first timer, just remember to puff and pass and don't get your salvia all over it.
Review Source:Good hookahs decent prices, Staff is attentive, never had to wait for coals,  they never burn your bowls like most other places.  The apple hits like apple should , clean strong, not like camel shit, they keep apple hookahs seperare from the fruit loop ones, i believe. Music is not popping my ear drums, i can have a conversation with my company  without being interrupted with the words " f*ck" or "muthf*ck" or " muthaf*cka" we go eRlier in the night around 7 to avoid the big crowds later on. Never been on a weekend though, im sure it gets crowded. Judging by the pics, ill stick to the quiet weekday nights. Cus a quiet hookah joint is close to extinction as a black rhino
Review Source:LOVE this place soo much! The staff is attentive and very friendly, the atmosphere is ideal and the hookah is the best I've probably ever had. Hits amazing, best smoke and taste and the owner puts a personal touch on his product. Egyptian Dessert is the bomb but if you don't know what to get, just ask and the owner will even special mix stuff personally. Don't go here if you plan on visiting another place and expecting it to measure up!:)

My wife and I are on vacation and hit up a few of the local hookah spots and this is by far the best. Â On out second visit the owner recognized us and remembered what we had on our previous visit. Â We tried the "Pineapple Express" and "Red Gumball"...both amazing! Â The furnishings and atmosphere are both amazing... Check this place out!
Review Source:I bet this place is the chillest place to be at in Riverside. Come on in, take a seat, get a menu, get your hookah, and talk forever with your friends. When I come here sometimes, I'm like sitting there for like 3 hours just seriously enjoying my time and talking with friends. I mean its only 12 bucks per hookah. You can bring in your own food and drink in here, so stop by Rubios, Taco Bell, Los Jilbertos...and enjoy it there. They do have music playing the whole time, but its not blaring and its at a comfortable volume, and anyone can come up to the laptop and change the music.
The owners are realllllllllllllly cool here. When we don't know what flavor to get, we ask them, and he tells us some crazy combo of flavors he just experimented with and he thinks we will like it. They come by often to switch out the coals, and you will always find them sitting somewhere chilling and smoking too.
I would consider myself somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to hookah in Riverside and this place is hands down, my favorite. The prices are always reasonable, the bowls are always long-lasting and full of flavor, and most importantly, the owner isn't trying to impress anyone by trying to turn a local spot into a  bogus club. Its a good place to relax, hang with some friends, or even catch up on some homework.

Without a doubt the best hookah lounge in Riverside/near UCR. Â The owner (Hanny S.!) is super friendly and you can tell he works really hard to provide the best hookah experience for all of his customers. Â My friends and I are pretty indecisive, and he always concocts some amazing mixture of flavors for us. Â The bowls last a long time and they're really good about coming around with fresh coals.
I like how relaxing and laid back University Lounge is. Â They have a YouTube playlist up for music videos and anyone can go up and change the song. Â The couches are comfortable and you'll usually see the same group of familiar faces in there. Â I also like that you can bring your own food/drink in (seriously, Los Jilbertos carne asada fries + University Lounge hookah = BOMB, but I digress...)
At $12/hookah, the price is incredibly reasonable for us college students. Â The service is quick and friendly, the shisha is delish, and I always have a great time when I come here. Â It's the only place near campus worth going to--definitely recommend it! :)

The owners/workers are very personable, attentive, and generous... that's what I like most about this place. Makes me feel like I'm treated as a friend rather than just as a consumer. Prices are great and the flavors I've tried (don't remember the names) have all been wonderful. Decor may be kind of plain but somehow the clean and simple look works for them. I like how you could request songs but I'd like for them to have a playlist or something instead of playing songs on youtube (if they're still doing that).

If you like quality for a great price this is the place to be! Super chill place to hang with the friends. Best thing about the hookahs are the mixed flavors my favorite are the pineapple express and the blue mist. Ive seriously puffed on a hookah for 1 and a half hours.

Finally a hookah place that isn't trying to be a club as well. Where you can sit and actually have a conversation with your friends without worrying about something bumping into you/ your hookah.
The service was fantastic. Usually you have to flag someone down for new coals. They pretty much gave you new coals every five minutes. Definitely coming back.

The two owners, Lee and Richard are the entrepreneurs that own the place. They're friendly, helpful, and very attentive. They cater to their customers making sure they have sufficient coals. Everytime I make my way to hookah joints, they are always shady with coals. I'm not sure how much the cost of coal is, but this place always gives great refills!
Cost:
$9 per hookah. and $5 for refills
I believe they also have happy hour 2-6pm, $7 for the first hookah
Overall:
I'm not a big cigar, hookah smoker, but I sometimes like to come here with my friends to chill at this venue. You don't need to be a smoker to enjoy the chill ambiance and friendly service.
