    INTRODUCTION OF PAGEANT.
    On November 14th 1999, Marcia Deans, President of MVD Entertainment launched her first Miss Tropical Paradise Swimwear Pageant. Twenty-two young women ages 21- 30 took center stage and competed for the title of Miss Tropical Paradise 1999.
    The event was sponsored by Air Jamaica, Guinness, Unfold Magazine, Caribbean Life Newspaper, Sutton Place Hotel, just to name a few. The winner of the pageant was Sawmaya Sterling., and has been a success for the past 13 years.

    FACTS
    Currently, there are no hospitals in the Negril area to help the thousands of people in the surrounding communities. When coupled with more than one million tourists that travel to Jamaica annually the risk of inability to respond in case of a medical emergency or a disaster situation looms very large.
    We believe that this cutting-edge Negril International Hospital will become a recognized leader in the world for curing illnesses and saving lives and a flagship institution for health tourism in the Caribbean. The facility will feature clinical area, featuring a full-scale emergency room, several operating rooms, a cardiology lab, and a radiology department. There will be a heliport enabling emergency transport from the 14 parishes to the Negril International Hospital. There will be organic farming on the site to integrate good nutrition as part of our commitment to health lifestyles.
    UPON COMPLETION OF THE HOSPITAL
    *Hundreds of jobs, professional services, non-professional service entities, blue-color jobs, and entrepreneur services, will be created to serve the Jamaican populace, while simultaneously complementing the countries' health tourism services.
    * Provision and access to affordable and quality healthcare will be available;
    * Quality medical wellness services to both tourists and the Jamaican populace will be in place;
    * That NIH will become an industry leader that is innovative and at the forefront of the specialized medical services sector;
    * Strengthening teaching and training opportunities through collaboration with the Jamaican medical schools, American, Canadian and the United Kingdom medical teaching institutions.
    Please join us in this worthwhile important event.

    The Vault Café is where you want to spend a romantic time, enjoying Haitian Cuisine, professional customer service and music. I've taken my wife there several times, we love it. Their Akra is off the hook!

    UnderWhelmed!

    Nothing to brag about here, its as typical as any Haitian Restaurant.  Arrive early, there is only street parking so be prepared to scour Hempstead Tpke and Elmont Rd. for parking.  The Vault is built in an old Citibank Building, unique idea for a spot right? Wrong!.  They could of worked better with the decor and theme since its called The Vault Cafe but no, its a hodge podge of Artsy Fartsy things that don't really mesh well.   Though they do try very hard, by trying to be hip.

    The mixed drinks were average and the food was served cold with the exception of the Shrimp Creole.  The wait staff was very courteous and attentive, I would of given one more star but the Management is a bit too pompous for my taste. I wouldn't want to embarrass my friends and subject them to the nonsense. The Owner was screaming at staff and even louder to the Manager.  He didn't bother with the few of us that were in the club and sat there like a fat cat, in his mind we were all beneath him.  He was only there to make sure his money was straight and no one challenged him. Blahhh :P

    I went there for a girls night out (10 deep) and it was OK. The place wasn't packed at the time.  After dinner we stuck around for the DJ, Bad idea. The DJ was inconsistent and turned the volume way up on his favorite songs.  THAT NEVER encourages dancing just earplugs in your purse. Sometimes I wonder if he was playing for the crowd or himself.  The ambiance wasn't that great because they were typical wanna be posers there.  Is this suppose to be the Echelon of  Haitian Society?  Really People??? Get it together its not that serious.  Its only Dinner and Dancing.  The promoter did his best to keep us happy but it wasn't worth it, we left as soon as we found an alternative spot so the night wouldn't be a total waste.

    I am not going back even if it was FREE, not worth it when there are better restaurants with parking, and respectful owners.

    Thanks for Listening/Reading.
