I wish I could rate this a 2.5. Â It's great to see a cozy little bar like this in the historic center of Lebanon, but something is just off about the place. Â The beer list is long, but unfortunately inaccurate. Â We asked for about 5 or 6 beers listed on the permanent menu, but they were not in stock. Â Might make more sense to throw out the printed menu and just list the current options on a chalkboard. Â The by-the-glass wine selection was affordable, but not very high quality. Â Carry-out selection is decent for such a small shop. Â Lots of potential at the Wine Cellar, from the location to the inviting interior.
Review Source:There is just not enough room to go as wax poetic as I would want to be about The Village Wine Cellars. Â The most talented bar staff in the region... absolutely. Â A favorite stop for some of the most engaging live music in town... yes sir. Â Delicious food as well... mmmhmmm.
This landmark establishment takes what they sell to customers very seriously. Â With a mind boggling selection beer, all tasted and judged before ever going on the shelf or in the fridge, a person could easily walk in and have a different beer each visit and know it will turn out excellent. Â What other bars even come close to that sort of dedication? What other bars even have a selection of ciders available for that matter?
I won't even go into the wine available here other than to say every staff member knows what they are doing and can help even if you don't. Â All the wine has been tasted, reviewed, rejected or accepted by the staff as well. Â Frequent wine tasting events make finding what you like easy. Â There is seriously nothing else like it around.
This is the one place in my travels that I would give 10 yelp stars to. Â I'm that comfortable there and that certain that each and every time I visit things will be as good as they can get.
