I've been to Vince's four times now and, overall, I enjoy the experience.  Everything I've eaten there has been fabulous.  I really enjoyed the Sunday brunch.  On another occasion, I had the Pan Seared Grouper and really enjoyed it.  It was fresh, which seems to be difficult to find in Ft. Wayne, and well prepared. The salad bar is good, fresh, and has a unique variety of items.

Service, I'm afraid, has yielded mixed results.  We've had very attentive and friendly service but have also had the kind of service that leaves you feeling like you're an inconvenience rather than a valued customer.  A little more training for servers and consistency in this area is needed in my opinion.  It's a shame that such great food is not always accompanied with top notch service.

On my most recent visit, there appeared to be a bit of a disconnect between the front of the house and the chef.  When I asked for basic details about one of the specials, neither our server, a manager who came by to ask us how things were going, nor the hostesses could answer.  Finally a different server, who overhead my conversation with my server, took the initiative to go to the kitchen and get the answer.

Edit:  Vince's is now closed permanently.  A major loss...

Went on a Sunday at around 5:30 PM with the wife and 10 yo twins and the place was not crowded.  Wonderful atmosphere while not overdoing the aviation theme.  I had the $100 hamburger while the wife had a grilled chicken breast (can't remember the menu name).  The kids had Mac & Cheese, which is really pasta with cheese and the kid's cheeseburger.  The food was excellent with my burger maybe the best one I have ever had.  Everyone loved the food all around.

Service was good, with the host seating us immediately and the waiter being attentive and food was brought out promptly.

The bill for the four of us was right around $42.00 and change.  Definitely a place to go to again...

We went here Sunday for their brunch buffet.  We were seated immediately and the host was very pleasant.  We were seated in a round booth, which makes getting up and going to a buffet kind of difficult, but I noticed that almost all of the tables in this restaurant are booths.  They had several items on the buffet: fruit, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes(the little square ones), bacon, sausage, cinnamon roll casserole (?), garlic mashed, salmon, a pasta dish, a spicy rice dish, and a bbq chicken strip dish. They also had a waffle station - but NO OMELET STATION.  Ok - here we go:  the biscuits were a little hard, the breakfast potatoes were hard, the cinnamon roll thingy you scooped out with a spoon.  It was very dry and needed some sort of sauce.  The scrambled eggs were very good.  There was no beef dish as we were told on the phone.  The waffle station was  nice.  It had several diffferent bowls of fruit to put on top of your waffle, but all of the fruit was cold.  It would have been nicer to put warm or hot fruit on a hot waffle.  I must say that the staff was excellent and attentive.  It's really too bad, because the food just wasn't good enough for me to come back.  Get rid of the waffle station ( just replenish them as needed), add an omelet station, and check ont he quality of food - then this place might have a chance at a decent brunch buffet.

Went here for lunch. Nice atmosphere. Service could use a little work (she didn't offer a box, came back a few times before she remembered my refill).

My California chicken sandwich was good, but not $9 good, especially since there were no leftovers to use for tomorrow's lunch.

My lunch companion had the almond pecan shrimp - sadly it overcooked. They were a little rubbery and there was no nutty flavor to the coating.

Vince's potatoes are very good as the side that came with both meals.  I might be willing to come back with a coupon and try another item on the menu. Perhaps a burger or salad.

My wife and I went for our first visit on a Sunday afternoon.  Very attractive atmosphere, with smooth jazz playing in the background.  Very attentive wait staff, considering we where there on "off hours".  Since my wife and I are trying to eat mostly vegetarian, we opted for the soup and salad bar.  We did inspect the salad bar before ordering and it looked fresh/diverse and well attended to.  On a even better note, it was fantastic!  That's saying something since around Ft. Wayne everybody has a salad bar, and most are awful at best mediocre.  All ingredients were very fresh with multiple types of greens and homemade dressings.  We ordered the soup of the day which was the French onion.  Again a hit!  Very tasty, and not the usual "salt lick".  We are really impressed with Vince's so far.  Another plus is they offer vegetarian options as well.

Vince's is a great local, family-friendly restaurant. Like they're slogan says, "Comfortable, Casual, Classic". I have yet to have a less than exceptional experience here. Kip is the best bartender in town.

So we were in town to visit my fiance's parents, as well as to catch up with a few friends. On our way in, we decided to meet a friend at Vince's to give it a try. We had heard that it had just opened up and that it was alright.

Unfortunately though, "mediocre" would have been a more apt description.

There were three people in our party, and we were all pretty jazzed about a new place. The place looked great. I loved the colors and booths, even the window treatments were nice.

We were seated in the bar area, and the service was really weird and uncomfortable. For some reason there was water all over the floor and the place was awkwardly deserted for a holiday weekend lunch.

I ordered the "Blackened Seared Ahi Tuna - Blackened sushi grade tuna seared rare with Asian ginger sauce . . . . 11.99". The portion was too small, the tuna was stringy and not cut well, and the side of vegetables had been oversteamed and doused in a sugar-water of some sort.

My fiance ordered the "Breaded Tenderloin - Center cut pork loin, breaded and fried to a golden brown . . . . . 8.99" which was a good portion size, and the Tenderloin seemed well cooked. The only downside is that you literally only get a bun, tenderloin, and a bun. Nothing else. No lettuce, no sauce, not even a solitary pickle. To call it dry would be an understatement.

Our friend ordered the Tuna as well, but the appetizer portion -- which was curiously the same size as the lunch portion, as well as the salad bar.

My fiance and I had checked out the salad bar, and it was definitely not something to write home about. Small selection, and why were there M&M's?

We'll be surprised to see that this place is still open the next time we make it into town. Kind of disappointing, especially since we were really looking forward to finding our next great go-to place in Fort Wayne.
