This is a cute little place that is a wine store in the front and a wine bar in the back. Â I visited once before with a girlfriend. Â We had some tapas and a glass of wine. Â It was crowded when we went to we sat in the bar. Â I remember it being a good time.
My boyfriend and I stopped by recently to purchase some wine for a cousin's birthday party/ housewarming party. Â The guy working the front was super helpful with his suggestions and found me some options for my price point. Â We bought a couple bottles to take home. Â However, we ended up paying $43.99 for a bottle, which was way over what we wanted to pay. Â The boyfriend didn't think to ask for prices and it was not labeled. Â
So, ask for prices for the ones that aren't marked so you're sure of what you are paying. Â The wine was very good, but we're not educated enough in wine to know if it was worth the price.
Overall, great store - check them out!
This place was pretty awesome...and they have in stock an awesome root beer.
I been to this place a couple of times...its far from me...but I would like to come here for a tasting. Â The food and appetizers being cooked were making me hungry. Â The seating was comfy with couches...but there was seating and tables as well.
She was very knowledgeable, and very friendly and energetic, I had an enjoyable time both times I was here....and I can see hwo this place can be a popular place.
Viva Le Vine has a wine store in the front and a bar in the back. You know -- business in the front, party in the back -- mullet style! Â ;-)
I think the store is great. They have good selection and the sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have cute wine-related stationary that I am still thinking about.
The one night I sat at the bar was very busy and I had to wait to be served. This was b/c the elaborate menu forced the wait staff to spend more time preparing food and less time pouring wine. Thus, I might recommend simplifying the food menu. All you really need at a wine bar is cheese, olives, nuts, and some cookies. I am really looking forward to going back on a less busy night.
A great local business. They offer (generous) 3 oz. "flight pours" of well-selected wines that you can then order by the glass or bottle. The second is suggested if you go one of the nights that they offer no-corkage fee. Basically, you can enjoy your bottle at register price in a great atmosphere. A very intimate setting with friendly staff. Didn't have any of the food (think heavy hors devours), but it sure looked good. Trivia on Tuesday nights is fun.
Review Source:We are lovers of Mom and Pop businesses when they deliver as they should - with personal service, passion for what they do and a great customer experience. Â Marcella, the owner of VivaLe Vine epitomizes what we seek. Â We had been here only once, during a really busy Friday night promotion, purchased some bottled wine but didn't hang out for the appetizers or wine bar experience. Â Today, truly on a whim, we decided to drop in on the walk back from the library. Â Wednesday early evening, no special reason, just check it out. Â What a joy. Â We love to sit at a bar and chat with the proprietor (when they aren't stretched too thin.) Â In this case, Marcella, the proprietor, was only busy with two other customers and keeping an eye on her nephew, while she prepared tapas for us, told us about the wines we were trying, gave us the history of her business and generally made us feel like we were sitting at the breakfast bar in Martha Stewart's kitchen, watching and talking to a friendly expert. Â We shared a buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad with balsamic reduction that can only be described by explaining that her nephew actually went outside and cut the fresh basil for it from the herb garden in the back while we waited. Â Yeah, it was that fresh and good. Next week, she will be bringing the tomatoes from her garden, but these were still fresh and delicious. Â Then we had a "pizza" sort of dish that is based upon an Indian flat bread called Naan. Â Fresh sliced turkey, brie and pears, then toasted. Â OMG. Â There is a wonderful selection of wine by the glass for $6 and up, a full wine store for bottled wines, a great selection of bottled craft beers, quite a selection of champagne, plus a giant selection of dessert drinks and dessert offerings. Â Wed. they have the appetizers at half price all day long, so our total tab, for five glasses of wine and enough appetizers to constitute dinner for us, was $42. Â I know where we will be most Wednesday nights from this day on while we live in Libertyville! Â Go, relax, chat, imbibe, enjoy!
Review Source:This shop has some of the most friendly, helpful people running it - if you ever need wine to pair with a delicious meal, or just a nice bottle to give as a gift, head on in. They have a fantastic selection of bottles at all price points, not to mention the nice and fun wine accessories and racks they offer.
Pop in and check it out - you won't be disappointed.
