I stayed at the motel adjacent to the bar and was pleased that it was there.
The cheeseburgers are super good, hand pattied and come with the works and your choice of potato salad, macaroni salad, caeser salad, chili, soup, fries or tater tots! The veal cutlet, although pre-fab, are tasty, and come with a large portion of mashers and gravy and a nice sized mixed salad topped with cheese, black olives and tomatoes, and a couple of pieces of grilled garlic bread for $8.75 tax included!!!! Â The bar maids are friendly and efficient and smile when they serve you. Â I can understand that the Seattle gals were a little taken aback by the locals, but hey, it's a BAR for goodness sake. Maybe the reason the service was a little slow for them is because the bartenders also cook the food at times and it only takes a few folks coming in at once to get busy in a hurry. Â I like this place for reasonably priced, home-style cooking at a great price. Â Monday is burger and a side night until 8-$5-best burger deal in Whatcom County! In addition, it is a great place to watch sports and pull some lottery tabs-4 stars for the non-pretentious!
This was a very sad bar. Â When my 3 girlfriends and I walked in on a Saturday night we were instantly stared down and by the locals and ignored by the bartender. Â We are all in our late 20's or 30's and weren't drunk and rowdy, just wanted a cocktail. Â It was made very clear that we were not welcome which was a shame because they had a very large space and good music playing. Â The space and music are the only reasons I give them 2 stars.
