Whiffletree Tavern

Oohhh, the good ol' Whiffle Tree.  It's a great place to go to meet good people, drink cheap, strong drinks, and devour some great bar food.  The place is always busy, even when we go in for lunch.  The drinks are reasonably priced, and mixed drinks are always well made!  I would like to say I've tried numerous items off the menu, but the chicken strips, fries, and cheese curds are so good that I rarely try anything else!  Definitely my favorite area bar!

The new outdoor patio area is awesome!  Lots of space with plenty of seating plus two sets of bags to keep people busy!

I came here after dinner on a very snowy Thursday night, and the place was packed!  My friend and I ended up having to find two seats at the bar, and only after one guy left did we get them.  It was trivia night and most of the people were playing.  They had TVs with college basketball games and ESPN on, and the crowd was college aged as well as middle aged.  There is a pool table and place to play darts, and a couple of video games as well.  The inside is pretty small, and reminds me of going over to a friend's basement to hangout and have a good time.  They serve food until 10 pm and the drinks are cheaper than places just south in Machesney or Loves Park.  This place is great if you want to just relax and have a good time.
