I'm somewhat of a scotch snob. I don't frequent bars that incorporate the word "whiskey" as part of its name because I know that the extra "e" usually means that they'll only carry one or two single malts (usually glenlivet 12 and/or glenfiddidch 12) and a whole inundation of whisk(e)y from the inferior whisk(e)y distilling parts of the world, because well, we just happen to live in one of those inferior parts of the world.
In that aspect, whiskey bar is a diamond in the rough. They serve scotch in Glencairn glasses when asked to be served neat, and have a very rudimentary but impressive selection of entry-level scotches, almost as if the owner knew what he was doing and tried to stock the most popular/widely recognized whisky from each respective production region of Scotland. Representing Speyside WB(K) had Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, and Macallan; from the Highlands/Islands: Dalwhinnie, Glenmorangie, Highland Park, and Talisker; and from the marvelous island of Islay: Bowmore, Lagavulin, and Laphroaig. (Lowlands and Campbeltown are not represented)
Even with their current elementary stock, WB(K) outdoes most whisk(e)y bars I've been to, but their well-thought out whisky repertoire containing only the most basic vintage of each area tells me that perhaps there was an intentional watering down of the selection to cater more to the bourbon-loving populace of these United States of Augusta.
I also harassed our waiter constantly about glaring "errors" on the menu (i.e. on the hypothetical existence of a Lagavulin "18") and questions about their stock, (it took him several trips back and forth to confirm that they do indeed carry Macallan 18 Shery Oak) but I'm going to point out two more things that annoyed me while I'm still in the slightly gruntled mindset: 1. There is no such thing as "Yamazaki 20," so there is no way in hell you're getting it "in stock soon". 2. Bowmore comes from gaelic "Bogh mor" so it's pronounced "bough-moor" not "bau-more" you ignorant troglodyte.
Now that I've run out of bad things to say, on to the great parts that made my Friday night awesome. Yes I did rag on their scotch selection, but they have by far the best I've seen in Augusta yet; I never expected that I'd be able to eat Katsu Curry at 11PM at any restaurant in the state of Georgia, (although the waiter again didn't understand me when I ordered Katsu Kare- and only picked up on it when I said "Cut-sue Cuh-ree") and the atmosphere at WB(K) is appropriate for all drinking ages.
The service here, despite my lingustic reservations, is very attentive despite the heavy workload they have going on here and the food live up to the yelp expectations. (Katsu Curry, Cali Burger, Salsa/Chips, and their fries conction were all crotch-grabbingly delightful)
Asian fusion and a half-decent scotch selection. Faith in humanity somewhat restored.
It was crowded on a Friday, nite, but my friend and I found a table for 2!   Friendly hostess  and quick staff service!   Nice that they serve food so late... (I went by the Boar's Head and they stopped serving at 10:30 p.m.)  Thus I knew WB&K would come through for serving food late!
I was also surprised, because when I raised me complaint about their pork "tonkatsu" plate in the past to a friend, he told his friend/owner - AND the mgmt. listened! Â Wow! Â Thicker portions of pork and nicely crunchy panko deep fried crust!... I've always love their variety of sauce options!
Met mgmt./owner... and he explained the past problem and resolved the issue... now, that's listening to your customers! Â
I will now go in and order this "Pork plate"... also, nice huge portion of rice... and lovely accompaniment of mixed greens with a sesame ginger dressing. Â
Looks like they aim to please... and the place is packed! Â
Love - WBandK!
Everything is great here. We have been multiple times with good service and good food. It isn't great for a large group (6+) just due to the wait and the fact that they have to put tables together. I suppose they could also be a little more liberal with their pouring of liquor. They measure EVERYTHING.
Review Source:According to the reviews this is a great place to eat with a cool atmosphere...
Well, I would have loved to been able to agree with these users, but we had the worst experience by far just trying to get a seat!
There were six of us in our group on a Saturday night. We knew there would be a wait and that was perfectly fine. We put our names down and they told us it would be a 1 hour wait which we were all okay with considering the reviews we've heard on this place.
We decided as a group to go next door for a drink while we waited because it's owned by the same management - not just some random bar. Â One of the girls from our party told the hostess what we were doing and she said that the wait time had changed to 25 minutes. We said that's great, but we'd still be next door. She told us that she would even pop and let us know when our table was ready.
After 20 minutes someone from our group went over to check on our table. When he came back to tell us if our table was ready, apparently the hostess or one of the two (one of the hostesses apparently is the owners wife) had crossed our name off.
We decided to wait in the standing area of the restaurant since they took our name off of the list. We then watched as a party of five walked in after us and was almost immediately sat. After a few words with both hostesses, one being quite rude and snarky, being the owners wife, and the other not really saying anything nor apologizing we decided to eat elsewhere after waiting for almost an hour and a half.
I can't say I will be going back to try to ATTEMPT eating at this place due to the sheer rudeness of the employees and lack of competence when it comes to seating people.
Very impressed with how they have redone the place. Â The bar has a really nice vibe and atmosphere. Â The whiskey menu is very diverse, but the beer selection is a little lacking. Â The food is very unique, but good. Â I went with the curry rice, which was made in a traditional Japanese way, and had pretty good flavor, but could have been a little spicier. Â The burgers have some interesting toppings, and the one with bananas and peanut butter was actually pretty good. Â The burgers could have used more seasonings for better flavor. Â I would highly recommend this place for anyone that's looking for a nice place to sit down, have a good drink, and enjoy some good food with some friends.
Review Source:they definitely have GREAT burgers! the first one I tried was the TCB and it was wonderful, as well as the others I tried on separate occasions later. the seaweed salad is one of the best ones I've ever tried. they make almost all of their sauces (excluding one) and they're all delicious, except the coconut sauce that comes with the sweet potato fries. it takes like sunscreen. the Asian dishes and tacos are good as well. I will say that every time I try the pimp nugs, they've been super dry.
the whiskey concept is a great idea. but for someone like myself who prefers not to drink whiskey straight, it might be nice to offer signature whiskey mixed drinks as well. but overall, the food is great and also the atmosphere.
The overall experience was not a good one. There is a list of all the whiskeys they have in the place. There was plenty of wait staff but no one was actually doing anything. I was there with a date and we ordered beer. It took a long time to get our beer, our server actually came back and asked if we were ready to order before we got our beer. There should also be recognition that better beer should be served with a glass. We had to ask for glasses several times and actually gave up waiting and started drinking the beer out of the bottle. The menu looked interesting. I decided to try a Japanese Curry dish(I thought it sounded interesting) and my date had a burger with sweet potatoe fries. The japanese curry dish reminded me of something that was microwaved and slopped ontop of over cooked rice and chicken that had been fried way too crispy. It was edible but it tasted like a bad microwave meal. My date on the other hand really enjoyed the burgers and fries. I would also mention that the booth that we sat it was right next to the computer station the servers put order into and I would suggest servers not to lean on the booth and that the back be made higher so that it at least obstructs the ability of patrons to see the workers play around.
Review Source:@Brutal S. I'm sorry you got  sick, but if you got sick two hours after eating here it couldn't have been from Whiskey. It takes a minimum of eight hours for you to get sick if it is from what you ate. I hope you got better quickly.

On a side note, I've had almost everything on the menu here and it's all phenomenal! The burger I would recommend is the TBC it is delicious! And the tacos have a kick to them, but are just yummy! And anything they make with pork in it is the best!
This is more about whiskey than food in a nice setting with wooden booths. Â A good selection of bourbon whiskeys with some ryes ( I tried and liked the Pendleton Rye) along with a basic selection of Irish and Scotch Whiskeys.
The hamburgers were somewhat on the small size but good. Â Next time I will try the Teriyaki Chicken with vegetables over rice.
After tasting the Pendleton Rye straight I wanted to try it in an Old Fashion. Â Noting an earlier review where they used club soda (not to my liking), I asked for it with water, no soda. Â The waiter was quite friendly and came back and asked if I would like their Signature Old Fashion (no muddled cherry and only water) to which I had to say yes. Â It was excellent and brought out the flavor of the Pendleton. Â
When I asked for the recipe the water gladly talked to the bartender and came back with the two bitters used (Angostura Aromatic and Peychaud's Aromatic Cocktail Bitters). Â I even talked with the friendly owner who had developed the recipe.
Overall, an enjoyable time and I will be back. Â While the waiter was not that experienced with whiskies, he was quite friendly and accommodating, saying he was slowly teaching himself about what was offered.
Well worth a trip if you are interested in whiskies and/or cocktails.
