Very convenient to where we live, so we probably visit much more than we would if we lived farther away.
The service and food are good, but nothing to write home about. They do have decent drink specials, meat 'n two specials, and trivia on Wednesday nights. I also appreciate that the owner is there almost every time we are, and checks on all the patrons in the bar and restaurant. A good, local, non-chain option.
Good food, good service, nice building & atmosphere, extremely low prices.
First, I just want to address Laura B's review on 2/29. The idea that this place has high prices is hilarious to me. As a transplant to the area, the prices at this restaurant were shockingly low. Just abut everything on the menu would be 30% higher back in Maryland (and probably similarly in Nashville itself). 2 Beers on draft for $3.50 at all times? What wonderful world have I been teleported to?
Anyways, the food is about what you'd expect. It's not the greatest food you'll ever eat, but considering where it's located it's pretty damn solid overall and I'll definitely be back on the regular considering the low prices and good food.
Well, it is in LaVergne. I feel like this place somewhat embodies LaVergne, nothing terribly special. It seems to be pretty popular with locals, but there's not much else here. Prices are high for mediocre food, although there is a full bar I think most in here are drinking beer. Margaritas left a lot to be desired. Nothing very special about the atmosphere either. I just can't bring myself to pay a lot of money for a piece of grilled chicken in a forgettable atmosphere. Nothing is terrible here either, service isn't that bad, but on the whole a forgettable experience.
There actually are a couple of decent restaurants in LaVergne, but this just isn't one of them.
Hoping for a quick dinner, I missed the turn for McDonalds due to congestion, and took the next turn. There on the left was an attractive diversion. Finally found a parking spot and went into a nicely designed restaurant - see through fireplace and all. Â Ordered the Smoke House Chicken (did someone say grilled onions and mushrooms?), then was warned it would take 15 minutes. A bit longer than I would like, but thought it would be okay. It was MORE than okay! The wait was a bit longer, I think, but well worth it! The entree and the sides were delicious. I'm sure I'll be back the next time I'm in town (maybe on this visit again). Â :)
