It's open. Â
I'm not sure why someone would post a review if they only heard it was wrecked & didn't come down to make sure it was true. Â And why would a business deserve 1 star since Sandy wiped it out? Â
Just to offset that review I must leave 5 stars although it deserves more in the 4 range.
So far this summer I have only been once but found the Windjammer to be a more mature crowd than Paddy's and/or the Andrea. Â They have the best beer selection you'll find on Atlantic Ave. Â Plus they offer bands but don't charge an insane cover. Â The crowd isn't too rowdy & there's TVs playing sports if you don't want to partake in the bands.
They do offer a menu that I haven't sampled since last summer but found their burger to be decent & not too expensive for "beach" food.
Dear Misquamicut Beach,
Maybe we rushed into our summer fling too fast. You were so hot, and I was blinded by your sunny, care-free waves. I jumped into you without caution. Had I been thinking more clearly, I would have seen you were maybe a little too, well...dirty. Some girls don't mind that, but me - I'm more of an East Beach kind of girl, ya know? So when I made my way over to The Windjammer to drink my sorrows away, they were there for me. Clean floors, cool shade. Maybe the Frozen Creamsicle cocktails went to my head a little, but you have to admit - the live music outside on the patio had way more charm than your lifeguard whistle, Squammy. I know you waited for me to come back out, but I was enjoying a delicious grilled turkey sandwich on a big, delicious bun. A BUTTERED and toasted bun. What girl can resist that kind of move? Can you really blame me? I'm sorry, but I love The Windjammer more than you, Squam. Don't worry - there's plenty of other fish in the sea. If you see me there, just wave, ok?
Great view of the ocean from the bar.  Open air dining, with a full menu.  Traditional  items include Clam fritters (with huge pieces of clam), clam chowder, and fried seafood dinners, including fish and chips, scallops, and shrimp.  A margarita topped with an upside-down mini Corona is just the thing to wash down all this yummy seafood!
We parked right in front (there was a lot and no sign saying it was restricted), and didn't have an issue, but a lot of folks have reported that you need to pay for parking. Â I don't know...park at your own risk!
