This is a great little wine bar in Denton!  My friends and I stopped by before dinner for a glass of wine.  If you like sweeter wines, their Moscato with peach nectar is divine!  We also snacked on some pesto and crackers...which I could not get enough of!  The pesto was fantastic, and there were plenty of crackers to accompany it.  We met the owner, who was very warm and friendly, and simply added to our great experience.

It's clear, I love this place. I enjoy the atmosphere of the space and casual nature of the staff here. My wife and I regularly come through, to learn and spend time together or with friends. This spot is perfect for that. The wine selection is very nice and if you feel a little hungry, order a cheese plate, or enjoy a bite from a local eatery. The tastings are always a great chance to try something new and if you want to learn more about wine, take a class.

This is a great place and if you come here they will take great care of you. Such a funky and amazing place to kick back and enjoy some delicious wine.

Pretty great little wine shop with an awesome beer selection too, good for getting booze to carry around the square during various events and happenings! Such as wassailfest!

I came here one night last week to celebrate finishing my finals week and I really enjoyed my time here. My roommate and a friend of ours came here because they stay open until midnight on Thursdays, we couldn't decide on what to get so we were recommend on a bottle of prosecco that was really nice, it was sweet but not overbearingly sweet. I can handle to really overbearingly sweet stuff (yum) but my roommate and our friend weren't to keen on that so this was a nice combination for everyone.
What was really nice about this place, was the owner told us after our tour that if we wanted to we could take a blanket out to the square and relax and drink our wine by the trees. And it was a niiice night that evening so thats what we wound up doing.
The owner of this establishment is really nice and really interesting in helping find the right wine for them to drink before they settle on a decision.

It's a little hole in the wall on the north side of the square in downtown Denton.  Blink and you'll miss it  At night, it's even easier to miss since the north side of the square seems to always be dark. Still, it's well worth the search.

Actually, I've debated about whether to write this review for a long time.  You know how the song goes, "You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye."  Still, it's too good not to share.

For me this is, hands down, the best wine bar in Denton.  Of course, the competition isn't very stiff.  So, I'll up the ante.  It is one of the best wine bars in Dallas and, for that matter, in Texas.

There is an eclectic assortment of art on the walls, as well as posters for local art, culture and charity events.  The furniture ranges from OK to shabby chic.  But, you're not there to see or be seen.  You're there, at least at first, for the great selection of beer and wine.

It's a quiet place with about 9 tables and a bar with about 8 more seats.  Sometimes it's less quiet when they bring in live musicians.  I've enjoyed the musicians a lot, but they do make it hard to talk.

Talk?  Yes, like in an English pub, people talk.  I don't think there's been a time I've gone there where I didn't meet someone interesting and have a great conversation.  People from all walks of life walk are there, and that makes things more interesting.

The wine, and beer, selection is constantly changing and has always been delightful.  Brook, Andrew and their staff give great advice.

Since they don't have a kitchen, their food offerings are limited, but they have great cheese platters as well as the phone numbers of local restaurants that deliver.

They also have very special events.  Wednesdays are usually a wine class, Thursdays are the "Boss tasting" where the boss opens some great wines at great prices.

Beyond the wine and beer, the real genius of this place is it's a great place to hang out.   You should look it up. It's worth the search.  Really.

Refreshing! It was so nice to find a cozy little spot off of the the square to enjoy some wine. They offer a great variety of wines for any budget along with a good selection of beers and ales I saw written on the wall. The service was good and knowledgeable. When I asked for a spicy red, I got a Cabernet from South Africa that was spot on.

Another plus is cheese plates, breads served with olive oils or pesto, and I believe on Thursday nights they have live music.

So if you want a break from the bars, a place to sit and enjoy your friends or even a good book; Wine2 is the place!

Wine Squared is a relatively quiet, cozy nook to sip a glass and chat with friends or a date. However, the waitstaff is quite variable. I've had great service and been completely ignored by the bartender in the same night. I guess it's a risk you have to take for the selection they have to offer.

Time to do an update, since last time I reviewed this place was back in 2008.

Still loved this place. The staff were all friendly and fun to talk to, the wine options are unique as always, and the atmosphere is as bohemian as you could get in Denton.

    ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE!
A group of friends decided to go hang out on the square and have a chill night of catch phrase and drinking. I decided to check out Wine2, the gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and knowledgable. The prices aren't bad either!

I have mixed feelings about this wine bar. The customer service was good, helpful, and friendly. They had a nice selection of wine by the glass. The only thing that brings my rating down is the decor. It is very drab and generic. The chairs are very uncomfortable. I would work on the interior design to make it a little bit more hip.

I don't know much about wine bars, but i'm slowly starting to learn.  This felt like a place in which i could do so.  The staff seemed very friendly and knowledgeable.  They let me sip between two wines to decide and after i chose he gave me the extra left in the bottle.   The whole place was laid back and had some local art work up on the walls.  I really like that they offer classes and tastings.  I'll be coming back here soon

I really love this place. I've been there a handful of times and have always enjoyed my glasses. The staff is super friendly (especially for some of the members of my crowd that have already been well-toasted upon arrival), as well as the owner. One night when she brought out our cheese she talked to us about it for a bit and told us the best way to eat it. That being said, she really knows her stuff.

The cheese was great too--I always try to remember to come by more often and do the glass of wine + appetizer for a light dinner, but hardly remember to do so. I hope to more often this summer and take advantage of such a neat little place.

Wine 2 is not only a remarkable wine bar, but it has also become a second home for me. From my first visit to this perfectly placed shop, I was hooked. I entered the shop a novice wine drinker and exited smarter and somehow happier about life. This cozy shop is ripe with great selections of wines from around the world.  You won't find oversold brands of wine that are overpriced and under deliver on flavor and complexity. Instead you will discover an eclectic selection of product that is handpicked by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier. Regardless of your tastes or budget, you will find a wine that you will absolutely enjoy. This is truly an amazing place to pass a good time.
    Cheers

While making an evening of touring downtown Denton, we stopped in on a whim.  The gentleman helping customers provided us with great wine suggestions based on our normal selections.  The wines available by the glass weren't huge, but they were all good.  The location seemed great for a date or to meet new friends.

    Two other nifty things:
-On a board near the register was a list of classes offered.  They included basic wine tasting, specific varietal tastings, and beer tastings.
-While they don't serve desserts, they will allow you to bring in desserts from local establishments, and they have a list of menus and great recommendations to go with your wine of choice.

We will definitely stop back in when we venture into Denton again.

This is a great wine bar with a very knowledgable staff and comfortable atmosphere. The owner Brook is a sommelier and really knows her stuff.  The wine classes on Monday at 7:00 pm are fun. Every Sunday, the bubbles flow begining at 2 pm. This is the best wine bar in Denton.

Wine selection could be improved (I was there this evening, and there were about five different reds available--this is a wine bar), but the ambiance and experience were quite nice. Chill atmosphere for having a glass or sharing a bottle with friends.
