I had wanted to come here for a long time because I had checked out the meny online and the food looked delicious. Whenever I'd pass the place it always looked like it had a nice atmosphere inside.

Well, the ambience was nice but everything else was a different story. The food was definitely nothing to run home about. I'd consider giving this place another shot because sometimes you have those occasions where the chefs just aren't having a good night. However, the real kicker of the night was the super snooty and rude waitress. It wasn't a busy night and it seemed like half of the time we were waiting around for her to wander by. When she did come by it always felt like she had somewhere better to be and that we weren't worth her time. Her mood did not change until after she saw me filling out the comment card that had conveniently come with the check.

Needless to say I will not be giving the food here another chance because of the awful service I received here.

As previously reported, the service is terrible: awfully S-L-O-W ... and our table of 3 was the only patronage for over an hour.  We had to ask for everything; silverware, waters, refills on the coffees after eating.  The flat bread chicken BBQ was good as was the baked Brie, but pricey for what you get.  Can't say I was impressed by the wines, either.  The moscato was by far the best one I tasted (altho it's pretty hard to mess that up). And the wine prices were over the top in general.  Our server "forgot" our dessert for over 30 mins until reminded but at least the manager comped us that.  Doubtful we'll be back.

We decided to try the Wine Loft after want to go there for quite some time.  The food is decent.  They have a great wine selection.  I tried a Riesling that that waitress said was her favorite, and it was really good.

The service though is something else entirely.  It is VERY SLOW!  We decided to sit on the patio since there were not many real tables to sit at inside, and we planned on eating a meal.  It took a very long time for any waitress to come get our drink orders.  Once we finally got our drinks and ordered some small plates, it took nearly 30 minutes for it to come out.  The waitress was nice, just inattentive.  The patio area is nice.  Of course there are lots of cars, but its to be expected since its by the main entrance.

Food and service here are way below par. We came here because it was a nice night and thought sitting out on the patio with a glass of wine would be nice. Wrong. The patio is on a busy corner of The Greene, right across from The Pub, so it was noisy, tons of traffic, and the smoke from the outdoor smokers across the way blowing over.

The only reason to come here is if you want to sit inside and have a drink. I won't deny the interior ambiance is nice for Dayton. The tables and niches are intimate and comfortable. Wine list is just OK for a wine bar, but  you'll find something you like.

As you can tell by other reviews the service is quite horrible. I don't think I've ever had such a rude waitress. We had reservations for a friends birthday and were seated in a rather secluded area right by the "servers station" or what have you. While the atmosphere and decor were very nice and upscale the place is so overrated.

The waitress was the main issue. You would think in such a nice place you would have some attentive friendly waitors and waitresses. One of our group members was completely ignored the first two times she came around, he finally had to ask for a drink. The mixed drinks were very dodgy. I ordered a Loft long island three times. The first time it was very good, decently strong (clear for those of you who know about long islands). The second one was weaker, and the third was completely dark, i'm sure it was 1/3 soda and the rest alcohol. It tasted like a watered down tangy coke. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not. My tab for 2 people was $63. This is for a flat bread pizza, one wine flight, and 3 drinks. I'm not sure the pizza could have gotten any thinner. The entire group went and got pizza's from Meijer after we left there. Don't go to have a meal there unless you want to order a few dishes to fill you up. Oh, and they had gratuity on 6 or more people even if you all have separate bills. I am usually not a complainer but our waitress couldn't have been more snotty and condescending. I asked if I could have ranch as a side for my pizza and she stared at me like I was stupid and responded with "um... I'm not sure if we have ranch." They ended up having ranch by the way. I will not be going back there.

We had really high hopes, but we're very disappointed.  We went on a weekday before going to a movie, we thought for sure that an hour and a half was more than enough time, but even after telling the server we were going to a movie we barely made it out in time.

Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, service was extremely slow.  When the food finally came out it was old and greasy.  I had the sliders, which were nothing special, a cold flavorless patty on a bun that should have been toasted and no flavor in the condiments.  My wife had lamb, which was cold and fatty.  Neither of us finished our food.

When we complained about the food the manager did come and talk to us, but honestly I had no patience for excuses and talk, just refund us our money and let us leave.

tl;dr: Bad food, worse service, not going back.

'Tis quite the gem for travelers on business in the tragically dull Dayton area...  prices are on the high end for the area, but fair for the atmosphere.  Tasty food and yummy wine flights will bring me back the next time I'm exiled.
TIP: If an older gentleman is working as both the bartender and your server, you're wise to either move to the bar or ask for a different table.  The guy is sweet but very forgetful so you'll get better service if you're within earshot.

When I stopped at the Wine Loft it was a Thursday night and pretty slow. Service was decent. My waiter was very helpful in selecting a nice glass of wine for me. especially since I know very little about wine. The food was just ok as well. A bit overpriced in my opinion but I was there for the wine and the food was just a secondary thought. Overall, it's a nice place to stop and grab a glass of wine and some food. I definitely will be trying the Wine Loft again.

Ok. Let me warn you... THE SERVICE IS SO BAD.
It's really bad when you're literally the only table of people in the place, and you can't seem to get your dumb, blonde waitress' attention.
    The food is just ok.
The wine is great. That's what it's about, right? The prices can be kinda high, but if you get a wine sampler it's much cheaper, and you get much more wine.
The inside decor is very contemporary, and beautiful.
It's a good place for wine, but I guess, don't expect to be wow'd.

Nestled within the shopping center of The Greene, is the best living room in Dayton. The venue seating is quite relaxed, yet intimate with mostly sofas and ottomans. The wine list is extensive and mostly boutique; a refreshing change from chain, cookie-cutter wine lists. The cocktails are geared more towards the ladies, being on the sweeter side; but a full liquor bar accommodating any palate that visits. The staff is not only gorgeous, but knowledgeable and friendly. The Wine Loft is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of work, kids, school, and life.

It was nice to check out via a Living Social voucher, but I don't think we'll return under our own choice. I don't see this place lasting--I think they are currently benefiting from the other overbooked options at The Greene.

    The Good:
The indoor ambiance was great--very contemporary, yet relaxing.

    The Okay:
An okay wine selection--but better to be had at any of the nearby restaurants. For their premier product, I would expect a lot better.

Food quality was pretty good... but extremely limited menu (entirely tapas expected for a wine bar, but the voucher we had was only good on food), small portions and pricey--again, better options to be had at numerous other restaurants at the Greene.

    The Bad:
    Prices.

    Selection.

Outside patio has a horrible layout--would have great potential at a nice setting like the The Greene.

And most importantly....Service was horrible--and we were there before it got a little more crowded for a Friday night. I didn't think we were every going to get our food or the bill.

    fairly decent pricing.
    nice outdoor patio.
not to crowded, so its a great place to meet and talk.
    the wine was great.
    A subway opened next door.
You can pretend to be be rich and snooty.

    bad.
tried three different tables outside until we found one that didnt wobble, seems bad for wine glasses.
the waitress didnt actually give us the wine we ordered. three seprate times.
    was that apricot.
I think I heard a song by Zamfir.

The Wine Loft is a nice place that doesn't have anything bad to write about it, but also nothing wow worthy either. I will say that the server we had was very friendly and followed up with us often. The wine list isn't anything outstanding. I did like the fact that they have wine flights, unfortunately they're pre-made lists and you cannot mix and match any. The flight we had consisted of two reds that were "meh" and one that was good. We also had the chocolate lava cake which was outstanding. The decor is nice, fairly modern with a cool setup of closed off seating areas for your group. It's a nice wine bar if you're in the area.

a delightful venue.  i'm glad that the miami valley now has a bona fide wine bar.  one of dayton's classier bars.

great atmosphere, especially for dates.  plenty of room to move around.  couches in various rooms, partitioned by curtains.  bar seating.

a great selection of wines, both by the glass and by the bottle.  cuisine is pretty good ... your typical smaller menu for a wine bar.  service was (mostly) friendly.

the decor was good (especially for a city like dayton).  in my opinion, the venue could be improved by altering their lighting a bit, and by choosing slightly different music that's more suitable for the atmosphere.

no dress code as far as i could tell.  but keep in mind that this is a wine bar ... dress accordingly.

prices are your typical wine bar prices.  appetizers are ~$11 and desserts are ~$7.

    highly recommended.

open everyday 4pm to close (which i believe is 2am on weekends, and a bit earlier on weeknights).
