Yamataro Japanese Cuisine

I decided to be brave and so I ordered a sushi pizza. To my surprise it was delicious! Great service and good food! the owner Monica even came over to check in to see if everything was okay. If I'm ever in that neck of the woods, I'll have to make another visit.

Ehh, this place was all right. Since I'm a sushi-lover, a friend told me about this place and suggested that we try it! When we walked in and ordered our food (tuna, salmon, white tuna sushi and a spicy salmon + spicy tuna roll), we were quite disappointed with the service. As the other reviews stated, the staff did seem pretty...preoccupied with something else. We felt a little uncomfortable with the tone...but hopefully it's not a "normal" thing. The sushi was okay...it seemed "fishy". I'm not sure how else to describe it...but it didn't seem too fresh. I've had much better sushi at other sushi restaurants. Hopefully they'll be much better if I come back in the future!

Not impressed at all.  Was there tonight for my third attempt, and everything is mediocre at best.  The spicy tuna roll was bland.  the special roll was bland.  the soup we ordered was bland.  and the service was not good at all - the waiter was not at all friendly, forgot our rice, and was very slow - there were three tables in the entire place, there's no reason to have to sit to wait to order for as long as we did.  Shame, since the location is so convenient for me.  will not be back.
