This is update and I just want to say that the guest relations team was great in reading the review and taking steps to rectify the situations. I know a lot of places don't even bother. This has changed my mind and I will definitely be going back again and try some of their craft beer.
Review Source:After few years in California I usually try to avoid chain restaurants since both service and food are never on the highest level...So if I go there I know what to expect. But I must say that out of all others (and keeping in mind that I'm a heavy beer drinker) I really like Yard the most. I had good service at this location, food was very good too. They recently started to have more seasonal beers on tap which is great. I may be coming more often as they will support local breweries!
Review Source:Slip slidin away! Ever been to a new restaurants opening and it's the greatest thing around? That's the way the Yardhouse Victoria Gardens started out. The menu is great but the food preparation is hit or miss. Swordfish Tacos were excellent but served cold, the Enchilada Stackers completely are off and Chef Mike is to blame. What kind of fool starts with an excellent recipe and microwaves the meat inside? Chicken was tough, dry and flavorless. Bummer. I noticed that their not as busy as they used to be. It's no wonder as to why. Corporate needs to take a look at this location as it is damaging their brand.
Review Source:I've been to several Yard House restaurants and this was the worst. The food wasn't consistent with other locations and the staff was rude, at best, and incompetent, at worst. We had won a gift card for any restaurant in Victoria Gardens from VGDine and the Yard House REFUSED to accept it (this was on top of making numerous errors to our orders). We complained to VG Dine and they, fortunately, dealt with the situation for us. I will not be back.
Review Source:I love Yard House and this one was decent, but I've been to better locations.
I always recommend the appetizers they have at Yard House because they are so good!! Happy Hour is the best time to go whether it's late night at 10pm or early 5-7pm. The half off deals on the food and drinks are a great value.
The server we had this past time put my group's orders in at separate times so half of us got food 15 minutes before the other. He also was way too busy to come back and do refills.
The "lunch size" portions are pretty small so if you're looking to be full off of that, then you might want to order something else.
Happy Hour Recommendations: Onion Ring Tower, Sliders, Hawaii Poke Stack, Crab Cakes, Calamari, Chicken Nachos, Beer!! Most to all of the beers are half off too so it's a great time to try something new!!
Yard house is one of the places you can't pass up. They have great food and drink.
At this particular time I was at the mall and just wanted a quick snack and beer. I went in and was greeted immediately by the bar tender and served within a minute.
Happy hour can get packed at this place, but then again the entire mall is usually packed past 5PM.
They only serve 1/2 yards of beer now due to people breaking the full yard glasses.
I can happily report that my husband and I were not kicked out of the Yard House at the Victoria Gardens location. Â This location also has more people than the one at The Shoppes in Chino, which gives it more of the busy bar feel you'd expect. Â This place is hit or miss with food based on my experience. Â But the mac and cheese is consistently good and nothing like I've tasted at other restaurants. Â My husband ordered the surf and turf sandwich and I'll probably get that the next time I happen to dine at Yard House. Â It's lobster in your burger with asparagus. Â Casual fine dining in your mouth!
Review Source:Yard House is dreadful. Bollocks. Rubbish. Those and any other hyperbolic British condemnations you can think of.
I have been to 4 Yard Houses, including this one. Every time is an exercise in madness. The usual complaints: 3. Food is mediocre; 2. Twice out of four times I have gotten raw food, and I see other reviewers who have too; 1. WAY too expensive for the schlock you receive.
Story time!!
I had a miserable experience at the Brea Yard House, and recalling an even worse experience while on vacation in Hawaii, I wrote two damning reviews on Yelp. Immediately, a YH rep contacted me with the offer of a "gift" in exchange for my address. Within the week I received a $30 gift certificate.
Taking the gift certificate to the Rancho YH, my fiancee and I ordered a couple of beers, an appetizer, and two entrees, which ended up coming to around $50. God damn, I would later say.
The first profanity, though, came when I noticed a strange rawness in the chicken appetizer. Mm, a healthy pink... and sure, that particular chicken probably didn't have much in the way of diarrheal roundworm... but after a couple chunks I decided to send it back.
Anyway, I decided at first not to post again to YH since they gave me a free $30, though there was no quid-pro-quo we-give-you-money-you-give-us-review. But then again, I still had to pay more than the miserable meal was worth, and the people must know the truth....
Now for something completely different.
I recall seeing, at some place and time, Yard House categorized as a gastropub. More like asstropub.
The service is fantastic but the food is just okay. Their vodka shrimp pasta is really delicious, but what I tried during my most recent visit was just average. I ordered the ahi crunchy salad and my friend ordered their ahi tuna steak. My salad was alright but my friend told me that his ahi tuna steak was incredibly salty. He couldn't even finish the entree because the sauce was so overbearing. The desserts, however, were pretty tasty. We tried the mini lemon soufflé and creme brûlée and both were delish! I wish the lemon soufflé could be topped with some hard frozen ice cream, rather than the scoop of whipped cream that they had. Overall, okay food and amazing service. A good spot for night owls, as it's the only place around this area that's open until midnight!
Review Source:The battle of good vs bad. Went yesterday for lunch for the 1st time. Took my son and a buddy. Yh always was a great selection of beers which is nice but I really wanted a good burger. Not so much, I got the Swiss/avocado burger. Â The presentation was good, but it was tasteless. My kid got the BBQ bacon burger and he said it was good. Friend ordered the steak sandwich. Compared to the one right down the block at Toby Keith's (eat there about 3 times a month) the sandwich at yh just doesn't compare.
Bl- the lunch was the bad party. The good-the scenery and the tap selection.
Be back, but not for lunch.
On a normal night or afternoon, this restaurant would not be my first choice. However, every weekday night from 4-6 pm, this place offers half off appetizers and pizzas. What a deal!
On my last visit, I got the three cheese pizza and buffalo wings. The pizza was spectacular with the perfect blend of mozzarella, Parmesan, and ricotta all tied together perfectly by a rich marinara sauce. The buffalo wings were dynamite as well. Although messy, they had a great taste along with some heat.
I only dock a star due to the noise level throughout the restaurant. Other than that, this is a perfect restaurant to go to if you want decently priced AND delicious food.
I love Yard House, mostly because of the countless beers they have on tap. I know it's a chain, but I get excited seeing long rows of beer taps. The food is a little more than decent. It's not the best, but good enough to have again on a second or third visit.
I had 1 hour to kill before a movie started at the nearby AMC theater. It was a Sunday night and Lucille's BBQ was packed (where we originally wanted to go). Yard House was packed too but we got lucky with 2 bar seats so I grabbed a Kilkenny beer and some Steak Nachos with jalapeños.
I usually stay away from chains, but Yard House presents a good restaurant concept with their food, beer, and atmosphere.
I know I know, 2 stars... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Yard House in Las Vegas but this location was a nightmare. Our bartender was more miserable then I thought possible, it literally seemed like it was painful for her to talk to us. When I told her of my gluten allergy she rolled her eyes as she gave me their gluten sensitive menu. Even my guy friends noticed this & they never complain about service. After we all ordered we were still waiting on our drinks. About 10 minutes later the bartender came over with someone else's drinks. When we told her that wasn't our order the people next to us claimed them.
Then we received our food... I ordered a side of Indonesian rice, grilled chicken & grilled veggies. I ate half the rice and my friend stopped me. He said he didn't think it was gluten free. So I stopped another bartender and asked him. 5 minutes later the manager showed up & proclaimed the rice was not gluten free. When I told him I told the bartender I was allergic and to put it on the ticket, he apologized and said she wasnt aware it had gluten in it. Awesome. I then spent the next 4 hours sicker then hell, absolutely miserable. Thanks yard house!
I came here for Happy Hour with my mom and her co-workers. I enjoy this location. The staff is really friendly and accommodating for big parties. The Happy Hour menu is always tasty. I love the ahi tuna here but my fave dish at every Yard House is the KBBQ beef. The drinks are also good and decent price. The Mango Martini is another great choice. I enjoy this place!!!
Review Source:The service here is consistently good. And these beezies are organized as fuck. I know this because we tried to waltz in past the angry mob and steal an open table, only to be politely kicked out of it within 5 hot minutes. When you put your name in, you'll get a wait time of varying degrees, but if it's a Fri or Sat night, I'd count on a good hour before you're seated.
The bar is a great way to kill that hour wait. I'm a huge fan of their Chalkboard Limited Edition Series, especially their current Chimay 150 Cent Cinquante. The bartenders are friendly and will seek you out if you're standing in the back. The servers have always been great for me at this location, super friendly and happy. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a smile with my meal :)
The food is also consistently well done. I've made the pear gorgonzola flatbread my bitch several times - one of my favorite chain restaurant appetizers right now. Cilantro lime grilled shrimp was pinche divine - no joke, try it. I had a bite of the sea bass and it was aight. I've had better, but I wouldn't kick it off my plate, know what I'm sayin? They also have a badass vegetarian section that's surprisingly extensive, along with Veg-friendly indicators next to all the other menu items. I love when restaurants acknowledge my kind.
Anyway. The real stars here are the beers. They have a huge selection on tap, but I always go to the Chalkboard Series. No doubt there's something for everyone. And how can you not love a place that has beer floats?! Seriously, beer float or gtfo.
I'll also say, regarding the crowd....ladies, watch the men folk because some of them are sketchy. Also, don't be like me and hold your pee until the very last second because there WILL be a line in the bathroom. Super friendly crowd at this location, great vibes all around.
P.S: Hi, feo :)
So we went back again, this time on a Sunday evening before Christmas.
While the staff was friendly and helpful, we were with my 2 year old daughter and we were sat next to the door that went out to the patio. Â After we realized that the door would cause a draft we asked to be re-seated to the other side of the dinning room, but were told it would be 15-20 mins before we could get a table over there (I understand you can't move people while they are eating). Â So we stayed put waiting for the table, and it was never mentioned to us again by our server, we asked after 15 minutes about the table and it was like they had forgotten about our request. Â By that time our food had been ordered and was beginning to come out... Â all we ate were apps as we wanted to go as my daughter had been suffering from an ear infection earlier in the week... Â
The food was much better this time around...
I have never left this place unhappy. Â I can honestly say I have gone there at all times (as early as 11am and as late as 12am) and have always been seated promptly. Upon being seated, a server, a friendly server who, as I get more inebriated, is attentive and understanding of my wine induced jokes. Â I have NEVER had a wrong order there. Â Recommendations by wait staff are always great and the four items I always order: deviled eggs, guacamole and chips, garlic Shitake noodles, and truffle fries are always consistent in taste. Â The Yardhouse is that deal. Â The food is good. Â
Although it can have the atmosphere of a frat house during the last night of Rush week, most of the time it is a great place to drink and eat.
It's loud--it's pricey--and I didn't come to drink beer. Â But there's a lot of beer.
The service was good and the food tasted just as it should. Â I'm never impressed by the fare at a Yard House, however, and this location is no exception.
We were there for a family lunch... and my father-in-law shouted, "You're gonna have to yell like we're in a bar because I can't hear a word you're saying." Â He was sitting across the table for me.
Forgive me for sounding like an old, cranky guy here... but it's too darn loud at this (or any) Yard House for my liking.
Other than that--it was a nice time. Â But unremarkable. Â Oh... wait... I just remarked all about it.
Eating amazing Korean short rib tacos for lunch at YH made me realize how consistently delicious the food is. It's what I expect from a huge chain like YH, but this location really has great food and pretty decent service. It's always packed because of its prime location at the Gardens, but the beer selection and food is worth it.
And late night happy hour? Way to go, YH.
I've been to this Yard House a few times, but this is the first time in a while I've been here for their late happy hour. Their late happy hour is 10pm-close Sun-Wed. Since I went the day before Thanksgiving, it was more crowded than it probably would have been otherwise. Luckily, we got there right before it got crowded, so we were seated fairly quickly.
Their happy hour food menu is great. We got 2 orders of chicken nachos and an onion tower to munch on while we had beers. I didn't have some of the other things on the menu, but I'm a fan of their food in general.
The beer selection is great, as is with any Yard House. Definitely had more beers to choose from this time around. The happy hour prices are a bit higher than I remember, but still decent. Â
Definitely one of my go-to spots in Rancho Cucamonga for happy hour.
I have to honestly say I've never had a bad dining experience at this restaurant..
I love how they offer my favorite iced tea here...passion fruit iced tea!! I fell in love with this tea when I worked as a hostess during college at a Brazilian bbq...best iced tea ever..at least in my opinion...but not many places offer it.
My bf and I stopped here for lunch after the movies. Â We never had their lobster, crab, and artichoke dip before and decided to try that this time for the appetizer. Â The tortilla chips were pretty salty on their own..but the warm pita bread was nice and toasty. The dip however, seemed kinda bland....it seemed to be missing the "seafood" flavor kick I was expecting...maybe they didn't want to over salt it cuz the chips were so salty..but paired with the pita bread..bland!
My bf ordered the surf and turf burger which came with shoestring fries. Â He also ordered the french onion soup. Â The soup was nicely seasoned with a nice layer of gooey cheese. Â The burger was cooked medium and topped with melted swiss, grilled asparagus and huge chunks of garlic butter sauteed lobster. Â The burger was cooked perfectly as how my bf ordered it and the lobster was tender and they didn't skimp on the portion either.
I had my usual roast beef dip with fries. Â Always hits the spot. Â I'm a sucker for roast beef dips and this place never disappoints.
Our server, Victor was awesome...extremely friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic, Â constantly checking to make sure our drinks were refilled.
I thought it was really nice that another waiter passed by and noticed that my bf's soup bowl was empty and he cleared the table for us even though he wasn't our waiter! Â I love how the service at this location is so great and that the waiters help each other! Â Some people would just leave the dishes if it wasn't their table...another reason why i love this place.
This review is base on drink service only as we went to eat at another restaurant and came here to hang out as a group.....
Our first waitress was awesome, on top of it, brought our drinks out quickly, great drink selection.....great suggestion as well for my co-workers....we all loved her.
Then they had a shift change, the next waitress was nowhere to be found, so we decided to take off.....
So I've been coming to this location since it was first opened some 7-8 years ago. After the novelty at most restaurants has worn off and the place becomes old news (anyone living in Rancho knows that there's always a new restaurant opening up), it starts to be judged solely for it's food/drinks and service- and then the crowd tends to die down because as most of us know, most restaurants fail in those categories.
Over the years I've moved from Rancho, yet something always keeps me coming back to The Yardhouse when ever I'm in town.... and during my visit yet again to this location on 8/14/2012, I was reminded why:
Ambiance/Acoustics- TV screens throughout the restaurant, but muted so that you can enjoy occasionally watching rather then be forced to hear it. The building is set up perfectly as to disperse the sound of chatter and the kitchen. (I can't stand restaurants where I can barely hear myself think!). Trendy, Hip, Classy environment all rolled up into one!
Staff: friendly service, knowledgeable and caring servers and bartenders. They really go above and beyond, and they ask questions and get to know you. I've even had quality service from the bartenders on very busy nights. SEAN (server) gets a shout out because he was awesome and made my parents and I feel extra welcome!
Food/Drinks: they may be a little pricey and some may complain that portions are small, but for the quality of food I think it's just right. Besides, most places serve waaay more then we should be eating anyways, so thank your waistline that there was a tad less food and perhaps more room for some drinks (because their beer selection is fabulous!!). Also, you can eat and drink during happy hour for less, but yes, if you're coming in on a weekend night expect to pay more. That's the way it works everywhere!
I WANT TO THANK THE YARDHOUSE IN RANCHO FOR CONTINUING TO MAKE CUSTOMER SERVICE A TOP PRIORITY, BECAUSE EVEN WITH GREAT FOOD I WOULD REFUSE TO COME HERE IF THE STAFF WASN'T SO GREAT!! KEEP IT UP AND YOU'LL KEEP GETTING MY MONEY!!
Yard House is a regular place of me & my friends...they offer a good selection of beers and while their menu is somewhat limited...what is on there is good...especially their onion rings.
For your bdai they'll give you a complimentary souffle and a comped beer...they went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable.
The beer selection here is some of the best around in the area. Â Yes, the crowd tends to attract douche bags and bros, but I come strictly for the beer whenever I come home. Â Before I moved tot he South, I use to come here frequently to enjoy a nice pint every now and again and coming back home every so often, I still do the same. Â
I don't think that i have ever eaten the food here, so i really can't voice my opinion on that. Â However, the bartender that took care of us was very knowledgeable, gave great recommendations and even told me about them opening a Yardhouse location here in the ATL where I live now.
So happy!
Your experience at any Yard House pretty much depends on what time you go. If you are there for lunch or the afternoon happy hour you will find it a somewhat relaxing place, with good service. If you go at night, namely on a Friday or Saturday you will be treated to a very loud, packed place which caters to the early-20 year old partiers. but for those of us who are into our beer, this place is not good on those days unless you want to wait a long time to get pints. All other times are great to get a pint from their 60 or 70 taps. The bartenders know next to nothing about the beer they are serving so don't expect to have a nice beer-centered conversation. Yes they have tons of taps, and are known for their beer selection, but the bartending there is geared more towards what the younger crowd wants such as martinis and all the new shooters.
The moral of this story is go here if it is a non friday or saturday or if it is in the early afternoon. Good beer and good people.
This place really lends itself to the single crowd for sure. Lots of hoochie's running around and guys in too tight shirts.
Food- Ordered the regular burger and a salad instead of the fries. Right and wrong choice I suppose. The little ramekin with dressing was bearly half full. The burger meat was thick and juicy, but way too seasoned. The salty-ness alone makes you want to buy a yard. Maybe their clever marketing strategy I suppose. Street tacos came with pineapple in the guacamole. WTH? What is this nonsense.
Service- Was none. No refills, and had to wait for forever to get ketchup and some extra hot sauce.
Single and want to mingle, come here. Want some decent food, go elsewhere.
Dear Yard House of Rancho Cucamonga,
I love coming here for happy hour. The appetizers are half off and the beer is cheaper and on tap! Your servers are friendly and helpful when it comes to recommendations for the most part.
This is my only gripe about you. During late night happy hour (M-F 10pm-close) the music is so loud I can barely here my friends talking, would you mind turning the volume a smidge down??? In addition, check the thermostat because I swear I thought I was seated in the dining area and not in a freezer!
Thanks.
Yard House is the most overrated restaurant out there, but the Happy Hour is not so bad. Â If you stick to the Mon - Fri (3pm-6pm) and Sun - Wed (10p - close), you should make it out alive...if not, then you may end up with no money in your wallet and running into people (literally) because it is just way too crowded. Â
I recommend the BBQ Chicken Salad (entree salad) because it is very tasty and has a little kick of spice to it :)
Another plus is the selection in beers...they have just about everything, and more which always makes for great tasting time.
Ladies Tip - The framboise is a must try! (just make sure to have someone buy it for you...not cheap, lmao)
