Famous with the locals as a place for Sunday Brunch. Well known for it's fried chicken & chicken livers. I'm not a big buffet fan & was disapointed with this one. Some of the items were dry & overcooked, all of them were bland. I've eaten there a few times now & I think I've discovered the secret to the Yellow Jacket - go with friends you haven't seen in a while, on a day when you're not in a hurry. Skip the buffet & order the fried chicken off the menu. It'll take 20-30 minutes at least. Spend that time visiting w/ your friends & then enjoy their excellent fried chicken hot & cooked to order.
Review Source:We rented a cabin not too far from this place and needed to order some take-out. Â We found a menu for The Yellow Jacket in a drawer and called to order several different things on the menu. Â Everything was pretty average to decent, but the Fried Chicken was out of this world, and I might even venture to call it legendary. Â If there was a place in Atlanta that had chicken this good, I'd probably be sneaking over there at least once a day to eat it...and I'd probably be 300 pounds in no time flat. Â The locals eat at the buffet here for the fried chicken on Saturday nights (a tip for you to act on, should you be in the area). Â Oh, and save yourself the trouble and skip the hamburger steak. Â It's just a hamburger without a bun and no toppings, served like a steak. Â As you can imagine, it left a lot to the imagination and needed a bun, toppings and condiments to turn it into anything worth eating. Â My 4-star review is just for the chicken. Â Everything else would probably be a 3-star.
