Came on a Saturday evening around 6pm, had to wait in an over crowded tiny waiting area for 45 minutes when we were told twenty to thirty minutes of wait time. Â The hostesses were also serving as waitresses, clearing tables, and were carrying out a number of of many other responsibilities. Â The hostess could not even stand at the hostess stand because of the crowd, and many parties had a difficult time finding her since she was not in place and was frequently completing other responsibilities. Â
Someone at our table ordered a half of chicken BBQ salad... Unfortunately, the chicken on it was raw (see posted picture). Â Kindly, the waitress informed the manager, who came to the table, apologized, and said he would take the cost of the salad off our tab. Â In addition, he went above and beyond the call of duty by offering to pay for our beer. Â
The ribs are quite delicious and come off the bone pretty easily. Â When you order a rib basket, the fries are served under the ribs and soak up the succulent BBQ sauce, which comes in mild, medium, and hot. Â
For our entire dining experience this evening, the four of us were in and out of Ziffle's in 1 hour and forty five minutes. Â The accommodations are quite cramped and the overall service could definitely use an upgrade. Â However, if you have some extra time and are in the mood for some pretty good BBQ ribs, it may be worth the wait. Â
Just for your knowledge, this was my third time coming to this dining establishment. Â This was the only time someone in our party received raw chicken on their salad, but the service and cramped quarters were comparable to our other visits.
We were home for the holidays and my parents wanted to take us to "The Best BBQ in Ft. Wayne" as they had been told. Â We arrived on a Saturday night and the place appeared rather busy. Â The 5 of us were promptly seated at a round table near the front of the restaurant. Â We immediately noticed how cold it was in the restaurant. Â We all put our coats back on and left them on! Â As we looked around, many other tables also had their coats on.
The menu consists of many options that are all rather reasonable. Â All the men at my table were able to get the special of rib tips for $5! Â That is a really good deal! Â My mom and I split the Combo Basket and we had PLENTY of food. Â The Chicken was my favorite. Â
Here is the good and bad of the overall meal.
The good:
- Chicken was super moist and tasty
- Ribs had good BBQ sauce
- Tasty BBQ sauce
- Reasonable prices
The bad:
- Freezing cold in the restaurant
- Slow to get our food
- Fries were rubbery and cold
- Wish there would have been BBQ sauce at the table
I would come back but would bundle up for the cold atmosphere.
A family favorite since this place opened. The added seating when they opened the bar has been a welcome addition! BBQ heaven for the rib lover and equally tasty chicken!! Pizza, sausage rolls and sandwiches will never disappoint you. Family friendly with excellent and personable service. Prices are equal to very very good tasting food! Old saying, you get what you pay for, you'll never feel cheated here!!
