I love this place. They have the best sandwhiches for greast prices. They are small so you generally have to get more than one. Their fries are the best too. Wednesday is the best day to go because they have everything for $1 but get there early because it gets packed at night. This particular location is new; it's really clean and the staff is ok. When I went there was a long line and only one of the cashiers was taking orders. Another was on her phone and the other just seemed to be "distracting" herself so she wouldnt have to deal with customers.
Review Source:I'm not even sure where to start. I regularly visit the 100 Montaditos located near Sunset Place and it is the place my friends and I go after coming from Bougie's. When my wife told me one opened in Kendall, I was ecstatic. We planned on going Wednesday to take advantage of the $1 deals and bring the my mom and sister for their first visit to 100 Montaditos. I will say that it being Wednesday, I expect things to be a little crazy with the staff, especially after working for a fast food place in my younger years. Even with this expectation, tonight was the WORST visit to any restaurant ever.
I got there around 730 and the dinner crowd was in full swing. The line was to the door, but I was already expecting it, since Wednesday is always a busy day. I collected everyone's orders and it was written on one ticket. I don't write sloppy, and I would expect the cashier to ask if she can't understand something. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the register. She plugged it all in without asking anything and charged me. My card didn't go through since I needed to transfer funds. The cashier waited the 30 secs it took me to transfer funds and I made sure to give an extra tip for the time I wasted, something I regret now.
We noticed a problem almost immediately. One of the drinks we ordered wasn't included and I'm sure it was written down (something I can claim, and you'll see why later). I went up and explained the situation. They charged me for another sprite and I waited another 10 minutes while the two girls up front responsible for drinks kept ignoring one cashier's customers completely. My wife decided to go over the ticket and now we could see that we were charged for an extra sandwich. I didn't think much of it; it was only $1. When the order came out (rather quick, compared to other 100M's I've visited on Wednesdays) we were missing four sandwiches and the chicken with honey mayo looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for days.
I fetched the manager and tried to calmly explain what had happened, but I'll even admit I can sound confrontational when I'm trying to be nice. Â Even so, he went item by item and told us he would be back with the correct sandwiches and a refund for the Sprite (something that really seemed nice of him to do) and the extra Montadito. What I would assume was the store manager came out a short while later and brought me $1 and I had to explain to him that I was told something else by the other manager. As he went to get the other $1, thats when we noticed the ceaser montaditos didn't have lettuce. When he returned with the other $1, I told asked him if there was a reason they didn't have lettuce. Â He said that's how it came if that's how I asked for it, which I didn't. He said he would go check the kitchen ticket just to make sure (1st time I get called a liar, but I understand). The original manager and the store manager some back at the same time and they give me the sandwiches that were missing.
The store manager then starts showing me the kitchen ticket and he fetched my original order slip that I gave the cashier. That's when I verified what ordered didn't match what I got. One problem, though, the store manager starts telling me that what I ordered is what's on the ticket. Really? You're going to call me a liar when every issue I've talked about is proven to be your staff's mistake by the documents in front of us? He then changes his tune saying he was trying to say it was their mistake, completely contradictory to what he just said. I really don't like being called a liar, especially twice, so I told him this review would be written and he just walked away. Seconds later my mom notices her BLT had a cold burger patty. Not just cool, but cold like it just came out of the refrigerator. At this point we don't even care anymore and just finish our food.
I'm not even the kind of person to complain when little things go wrong. This experience left such a bad taste in my mouth, it's hard for me to say whether I will ever visit this restaurant again.
Here are some bonus pictures to see what I'm talking about:
The dried chicken sandwich <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FfuQvLpM.jpg&s=42458d2529af95af9fca1cd2db6339b2881526790e3b2970de16622872dc34fa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/fuQvL…</a>
Another chicken sandwish (i think) <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FnIl5vsp.jpg&s=7e304179ed923cdc86f1b7c958192df9eeebf7c91214e482e84df9bd546cebc5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/nIl5v…</a>
This place is affordable and awesome. Their sandwiches may be small but don't let that fool you. They are packed with flavor and 3 of them are enough to fill you up along with a glass of sangria. I think its great for a gathering of college students. The bucket of french fries along with the white ajo sauce is truly delcious and zesty. They are very addicting and great to share with others. I like going here on Wednesdays when the majority of the items are just $1. All sandwiches come with a complimentary side of potato chips and they offer salads and small tapas and other appetizers such as fried calamari aswell. Most of the portions are small but like I said before they fill you up and you can't beat the prices. Love going here after school with friends.
