Great atmosphere accompanied by a fantastic craft beer selection. The food is an eclectic take on traditional bar food. The Calamari Rockefeller was delicious and unique. The bartender, Keven, was great as well. My date and I explained that is was are first date and he really made if a fun time and really helped us break the ice. I will definitely be back.
Review Source:SOOOOO disappointed! Â :-( Â My husband and are were sooo looking forward to finding a decent place to dine in West Davie...this is NOT it. Â Very disappointing, to say the least. Â
We went early to eat, to avoid the live band situation. Â It was so loud, truly, our ears felt like they had been to a rock concert, even without the band! Â LOUD! Â I can't believe when they were doing the renovations, they did not attempt some sort of sound barrier/baffles between the bar, and dining room. Â It is LOUD! Â
The Food? Â Abhorrent! Â I ordered the French Crouton Soup....oops...I mean French Onion soup. Â Truly, it was a bowl of soggy croutons, with no 'soup' to be found! Â Truly...None! Â Even if there WAS soup, it would have been a measly portion...MAYbe one cup...and at $6, it didn't fly with me, and back it went. Â
My husband ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich for his dinner, and I ordered the Fish-n-Chips, but I didn't want the fries so I substituted a '595 salad' instead. Â I will start with the positive...the Fish was hand battered, fresh smelling and tasting, and cooked properly....except the jicama slaw on the same plate made it very soggy in no time. Â The Jicama slaw was strange, under-seasoned, and uneventful, and I do love Jicama! Â The tartar sauce tasted more like Miracle Whip than any tartar sauce I have ever tasted. Â Pretty underwhelming!!! Â My husbands fries were tasty, though served with absolutely NO salt. Â His Philly on the other hand, was so salty it was barely edible. Â The Philly was also drastically under-portioned, so he pushed all the meat to one side of the bun, and just ate half. Â The meat to bun ratio was like a hot dog in a sub roll. Â Oh, and that 595 salad? Â It's a plate of mixed greens out of a bag...a couple rings of onion, some inexpensive, flavorless blue cheese pre-crumbled stuff, and mine had the pleasure of having rotted cherry tomatoes, and I do mean, rotten! Â Like slime in your mouth...ROTTED, with the corresponding black mold inside! Â Being in food service myself, I spoke to the manager, and told her they WILL make people sick if they don't get a handle on their cold foods. Â I was disgusted.
We had a good experience with Service, and the drinks were fairly priced and well made. Â They did 'comp' the soup, and though not necessary, they comped my meal as well (which ironically, the fish was the best part of the night!) Â We paid for the rest. Â They didn't need to do more than they did....bottom line...we won't be back. Â
If you are into a loud bar scene with IPA beer as your focus, and live bands, then you will likely enjoy this place. Â Â A dining location however, it is NOT. Â We will give them another try....WHEN the ownership, atmosphere, and food changes....which I don't think will take long!
