  Our party of 8 had the WORST meal ever at 6512'. Claims of gluten free options on their menu and website were not just laughable but nearly offensive to truly be left with a salad that arrived for another table and when the correct one arrived, it was just lettuce with bread of all things on it, so it had to be sent back. Out of 8 meals, none were considered even fair. Fish tacos arrived cold, green chili stew lacked spice and was cold, the portobello dish was flavorless, and the $9 up charge for 4 shrimp to a bow tie noodle dish were not worth it. Kids' meals consisted of incredibly dry, bland chicken. The sliders were also cold and disappointing. With so many incredible restaurants in close proximity in downtown Durango, we can't foresee this place lasting with locals once the tourist season is over this summer. The only positives were the ambience, live musician, and alcohol (which is hard to mess up when beer and wine come from bottles.) As Durango natives, we will definitely not return and did let their staff know they have no right to suggest gluten free options on their menu or website as they even stated themselves that they do not have GF buns, tortillas, sedicated potato frier, or really anything other than a simple lettuce house salad which certainly isn't worth the price. The woman we spoke to agreed and admitted its been an ongoing issue.  As only 1 of 2 tables dining and all the rest drinking, it was absurd that our lackluster meal took 2 hours as well. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.  We certainly wish we had.

  From the minute we walked in the door, we were immediately made welcome by Chris. The atmosphere is casual and the happy hour menu & drinks were terrific. Have the tuna on a bed of blue cheese cole slaw or TO DIE FOR dolmas. Chris was really personable and worked with us on creating a new drink donned "The Rough" (inspired by a mutual interest in golf) which is (fresh) cucumber, jalepeno, lime, ginger and vodka. The crowd is friendly and the owner was visiting with everyone in the bar. Live music, sports and good drinks. We'll be back!
