what an amazing place. we had the french onion soup and it was amazing in taste as well as in eye appeal. We also had a salad and u can tell these dressings are home made and so gorgeous. We then had the steak and every bite was better then the previous, and the short ribs just fall off the bone and filled with flavor!! The waitstaff is amazing and the lovely. We had katie and she was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu and wines. Every plate was gorgeous as we were checking out other peoples meals. The atmosphere is very pleasant and enjoyable. We will def recommend this place and will be coming back.
Review Source:We had been eyeing J.A. Heneghan's since the restaurant was under construction and were very excited when it finally opened! Not your average tavern food, with a wide range of selections.
We tried several different appetizers and I absolutely loved the crispy calamari; delicate yet crispy with a slightly sweet, flavorful marinara sauce. The clam chowder was freshly made with a twist, including bacon and tasty Long Island corn. The salmon entrée was delicious, cooked just right and complimented with lemon risotto that melts in your mouth, bursting with flavor.
Best French onion soup I've ever had! Try the bacon-wrapped filet mignon, with Gorgonzola mashed potatoes, caramelized onions, and roasted mushrooms. The ingredients come together so well.
The waitstaff and the kitchen staff alike were very friendly and attentive. The ambience is simultaneously comfortable and classy, making for a great evening. We highly recommend J.A. Heneghan's, and we'll be back very soon to try the rest of the menu.
