Believe it or not this place is solid. Food and drinks are consistently good and portions are good. You won't leave hungry or broke

I am a regular at Acapulcos.  The food is very good, the portions are good, and staff and manager are like family.  I particularly like the El Presidente Margarita - which now comes in a jumbo size. The chips and salsa are great and free.  I've tried about 80% of the things on the menu - all is good.
It is a family run operation and fun place to go.

Has seen better days!  Foods gone downhill & the whole place is covered in a sticky film.  They need to close down for a few days & give this place a top to bottom cleaning.  So gross!!!!

Went here twice within a two week span, I liked it that much.  Service is super friendly, they were attentive during the meal and the entire staff came out to thank us as we left.

Chips and salsa before the meal were great.  We got a queso dip appetizer which was killer.  Had the carne asada plate once and I loved it.  The next time, I had the Asado burrito which was also excellent.

Our fav neighborhood joint and it's not even in our 'hood.  We go to this particular Acapulcos frequently.  The food is very consistent.  Service is also very efficient and friendly.  Within one minute of sitting, fresh chips and a very tasty salsa are on the table (gratis) and our server has taken our drink order.  Speaking of which, they make the best margaritas in New England, and have a decent variety of tequilas to chose from. Some favorite menu items: Steak Picado, Tacos Al Pastor, Chili Colorado.  Highly recommended!~

I love this place exactly for what it is: good Mexican-American food and cold Coronas. Did I mention they serve PITCHERS of margaritas?! Yup! I highly recommend their wing plate, very crunchy and spicy and all-you-can-eat warm chips and fresh salsa.

I should mention that the staff is VERY friendly, esp. Artie the bartender! Good times, good times!

Friday night dinner w/ family of four.  Not crowded, but reasonable crowd for 6 PM.  Easy to find parking on the street and plenty of traffic going through town, so not deserted.  We had a living social coupon - $12.50 for $25.  Warm chips, salsa and spicy salsa to the table, including refills on the chips.  Servers attentive and helpful.  Kids (2) each had adult enchilada orders w/ chicken, beans, rice.  Wife had assortment of enchiladas and same sides.  I had some assortment including skirt steak, grilled shrimp w/ same sides.  All were good, hot plates, refills on drinks, music in the background, and room was warm and friendly.  Soccer game on tvs in bar, but few watching.  Overall good meal, as authentic as you may find in franklin, MA.

Some what of a mediocre eatery.  Very basic food, fajita's, burritos enchiladas, nothing very inspiring or creative.  It tastes good, but nothing you'll really remember....

I've lived in Franklin about 10 years and been to this place 3 times, so that should be a good gauge.

Service is fast and friendly, decor is a little on the tacky side, and prices are reasonable, although most dinners tend to be largely rice and beans, not a lot of meat.

It is a chain, and I've also been to 2-3 others, all are pretty consistent....

The rice, beans, and queso were good but I wish the chips were homemade. The steak didn't have the flavor I was looking for. However the staff is A+ they were so nice and timely!

Service is good, the waitstaff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They also have awesome Margaritas.

The basic Tex-Mex entrees like tacos, burritos and enchiladas are very good   (and filling as the portions are large), however, the more traditional Mexican dishes like Pork Carnitas are less successful.

It used to come in a small crock pot filled with chunks of tender moist pork that simmered in a red Carnita sauce, delicious. I guess they changed they recipe, however, and now it is slices of dried roast pork with a red Carnita sauce ladled over top. Nowhere need as good.

Please bring back the old recipe.

Never bad meal, always amazing service, as close as authentic Mexican as you can get around these parts. I make this a weekly destination the food, the service, the atmosphere...just fantastic!

Okay, you're in Franklin Massachusetts and you want to have a Mexican meal.  This is not high cuisine.  No surprises here, but it's not Taco Bell and you get the impression that the people in the kitchen care about the dishes that go to the dining room.  The staff is very friendly and the food is hot, fresh, and fair priced.  I've never been disappointed with the place.

The only place for miles around where you can get a decent margarita, and better Mexican food than you'll get at any chain restaurant. The menu is all the usual American-Mexican, everything all the typical Mexican restaurants serve, nothing fancy. Neither me nor my kids nor anyone else I've been here with has ever complained about a bad dish.

The margaritas are a lot better than you'll get at most any restaurant, it's real lime, not sour mix, and you can pay more to get top shelf tequila if you want, but if you like a traditional margarita, the house is just fine. Depending on what night you're there, you might get a weaker or stronger Margarita. Only once did we inquire about the weakness of our margarita, and the waitress instantly brought it right back to the bar to kick it up a notch for us, and she did it with a smile and a wink. Nice work! The service is always great, and I think they hire all Mexican wait staff to support the atmosphere. The TV is usually on a Spanish language station. They are generous with the chips and salsa, and the chips are usually fresh and hot. The salsa is nothing special, but better than most places. Now I'm reading a review that says they have a homemade Hot Salsa? I did not know that. Next time....

My wife and I were ready for a "cheesy", fake Mexican joint with average food. What we got was amazing service, solidly good fare that is fresh and just a nice atmosphere that is fun for the two of us and also feels fine when the little one tags along. Wait...the little always tags along. But I digress.
We don't eat out much, but when we do, Acapulcos, Franklin is always on the list.

Solid choice if you are in the mood for Mexican. The chimichanga was dang tasy and the Queso for the appetizer went very quick.

The food was good. Chimichanga was good and Chile Relleno was okay. Everybody else had awesome fajitas and a good looking steak.

Free chips were a little thick and the salsa had scallions which was weird. When I asked for hot sauce they brought me legitimate salsa.

I got a house Margarita for $8 and it was terrible. Almost no liquor and poorly mixed.

I would go back if someone poor it out there as a suggestion or invitation but it if not my first choice by far.

I've been there several times and I always get the Arroz con Pollo.  Not because I don't like other Mexican food ..... there's virtually nothing I don't like ..... but it's just that good.  Friends have tried the other dishes; such as the Pork Carnitas or the Steak Picado and liked them.  The bartender is quite friendly so If I'm in the area and by myself I'll get a bar seat, which has never been an issue, get a Margarita and my favorite dish.  Yum.

Ah, my friend, speaking as a Texan: how much I desire to love you, to make you my  local amorcita.  But as a sweetheart you are a little too bland, a little too - dare I say it - traditionally family Tex-Mex.  Que lastima.

But the service is great, and you are good with the kids.  And for that you will always hold a place in my heart, even if it is only a small friendship...not a great romance.

This is one of our regular spots.  We probably eat here once a month and it's always good.  I think we take for granted how good and consistent it is.  I mean I've never written a review?!?!?  So here it is.

Acapulcos is great.  The food is hot, fresh, quick and delisch.  Servers are plentiful and quick with a Hola Amigo.  Bueno! :)

I typically get the Pork Carintas or the Arroz con Pollo.  Both are very very good.  The pork usually has a well done consistency to it but not in a bad way.  The chicken is also very tasty.

The Rice and Beans are basic but good.

Wifey usually gets the fajitas, chimichanga or a shrimp dish.  Always happy with any of those choices.

My 2 yr old used to like the quesadilla.  Now it's just chips, chips and chips.  Thank god they're free! :)

Back in our drinking days we'd enjoy the Cadillac or Presidente margaritas... MMM!! MMM!!

Now I usually have a Tecate and it comes with an ice cold glass.  If I'm not drinking then it's nice to have a place that serves Pepsi products.

I know it's American Mexican but it always does the job.

Ask for the homemade Hot Salsa if you dare!!

I used to work in Franklin and this was one of our favorite spots for Lunch as they had space for large groups.

Their fajita nachos are massive and delicious!  It could serve as an entree for 2 people. Otherwise my other favorite dish here is the Cancun chimichanga.

Eh, the salsa is in a carafe.  That just struck me as weird. Chips were good, the food, not really memorable.  Moved back east after living in Southern California for a while.  We haven't been back to eat other than to sit at the bar for a marg and basket of chips. The marg was very good and would go back again for that.  The food, nothing memorable about it.  Chicken burrito, no real spice.  Still looking for decent Mexican in the area.

Love this place! It's an easy, predictable go-to Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy and elaborate, just typical tasty food like burritos, enchiladas, etc. And a little secret: take someone for their birthday, and if you tell the waiter/waitress, the workers will don the birthday boy/girl with a sombrero and sing (in Spanish, I think?). I've never experienced that, but I hear it's a hoot.

Love Acapulcos.. or as my 6 year old calls it Acapacas.  We forgo 2 Mexican restaurants nearer to our house to drive to Franklin for "Acapacas".

We've been here a good number of times and the food has always been very good.. they always start you off with some nice complementary homemade chips and salsa...  the salsa has a nice tang to it, although a bit watery for my taste (I like a less 'processed' salsa).  But still good.. and they'll refill both on request.

For dinner, most recently I had the "Dos Compadres" special... a large chicken breast and skirt steak marinated and grilled with sides of beans, rice and guac/salad.  Very tasty and a decent portion.

Wife had the "fajita chimichanga" which she liked.  I've had this before and it's also very good.  Kids had the kids meals which they enjoyed.

In the past, we've had the fajitas, carne asada, arroz con pollo, and traditional combo plates (burrito, enchilada, taco) and all have been very good.

they make a fine margarita as well.

Having spent a Summer in Texas on the Mexican border, and having been to Espana (Spain), it is difficult to find a Mexican restaurant here in New England that serves authentic Mexican food.  Well, I was pleasantly surprised last night when four of us went to Acapulcos Restaurant in Franklin.  The food was excellent and the wait staff spoke both English and Espanol which was allowed me to use some of my rusty Espanol.  I had the Arroz con Pollo which was just a super delight.  I tried a friend's Pollo ala Crema which was also super good.  Acapulcos didn't get 5 stars from me because our table was very cramped for four people but the food was 5 star quality and the wait staff were very attentive.  If you like Mexican food, this is a good place to go.

Oh Acapulcos, how I love you.  I'm a big fan of American-Mexican food and Acapulcos is the best restaurant of this nationality in the area.  They have a little bit of everything.  When they seat you, you get a basket of warm, fresh tortilla chips and some of their signature salsa for dipping.  If you power through all of the chips and salsa, they bring you more.  You need to be careful to not fill up on chips and salsa though because the meals are huge.  The alcoholic drinks are a little expensive, but well worth it.

If you don't know what you're in the mood for, they offer a combo option where you can try 2 or 3 of their more popular items, along with beans and rice.  You get charged extra for guacamole on some dishes, but definitely go for it, because their guacamole is tasty just like everything else.

I'd give it a B. the food was good and staff was nice. I always enjoy seeing real Mexicans working at a Mexican restaurant... I don't want a burrito from someone named Steve. I had the mole enchiladas. They were good! Not enough mole though. They go real simple on ingredients. For instance, my enchiladas were filled with only ground beef and green chiles. My wife's chicken quesadillas were only chicken and cheese. Maybe that's the authentic way to do them - haven't been to Mexico enough to know for sure. Everything was tasty and I'm sure we'll be back soon for margaritas.

Acapulcos is not exactly the most authentic Mexican restaurant, but it's craveable.

Our table had just been cleaned and smelled like a noxious citrussy chemical, but it faded, thankfully.

Complimentary salsa and warm chips pre-meal are addictive.

Last time we were there, I had the Acapulco burrito with chicken and BF had the Enchilada Jalisco. Mine was slathered in a spicy sauce that I skipped, the filling was enough to satisfy me, along with the generous helping of sour cream and guacamole.

His trio of enchiladas was good, a little sloppy, but the refried beans and rice were awesome, and not too salty, as they often are in other places.

He had iced tea, which was definitely a mix and watered down. I just stuck with water, which was never refilled.

We had the deep fried ice cream, and though it was delicious, it was clearly not handmade. Probably something they get from a supplier.

Two meals with dessert plus tip came to $38. The waitress was really nice, the food came out fast and hot, but she mixed up my credit card with someone else's. I had to track down my card myself, which ended up at a nearby table. That could've been bad.

I think the worst part was trying to park. There is a very small lot behind the restaurant that I think is the right place to use, even though it says "Tenant Parking Only". A bit confusing, but I think Tenant refers to the restaurant. All other parking in the area is either metered, or private lots that are permit only or for the patrons of those businesses only. We went around the one-way only block twice before we found a spot.

There are two Mexican restaurants in New England where I will actually eat.  If it's not Acapulcos in Franklin or On the Border in Warwick, RI, I'll pass.

I can honestly say I have never eaten anything but the fajitas.  Then again, in ordering fajitas you get the basics for much of the menu.  The refried beans are good and the fajita chicken is great.  I don't think they make the tortillas in house, which is disappointing, but I know from experience how time consuming making tortillas can be.  The real test for a Mexican restaurant, in my opinion, is the guacamole.  If I could, I would ask for a taste of guacamole before ever sitting at a Mexican restaurant.  It's like a first kiss on a date, you will learn all you need to know from it.  If it's no good, walk away.  Thankfully Acapulcos knows how to make some good guac.

The employees are nice and very personable.  My only gripe would have to be parking.  The location is right on Main St. and if you don't find parking at a meter you might need to go around back.  I'm not even sure it is legal to park back there but I've never received a ticket.

Sometimes I get these odd cravings for Acapulcos salsa. They give you complimentary chips and salsa with your meal and it is to die for. I haven't been in a few months, but right this moment I am having one of those cravings.

The service is always very fast and friendly, I absolutely love the drink menu, and they make some fantastic food. I really like the quesadillas and the burritos here. It's very authentic, not the gross and greasy Mexican food so many places serve up.

But seriously, that salsa. It's just amazing.

When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was an overwhelming chemical/cleaner smell.. not very appetizing, but my nose adjusted pretty quickly and I got over it.

The chips & salsa were most excellent, and were refilled every time we got low. I had the quesadilla combo and it was good but the bottoms were a little soggy from using too much oil. I loved that they were stuffed with spinach!

The waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly - almost too quickly, but thats hardly something to complain about.

I think I'd go back. The margaritas were awesome.

I went to Acapulcos based on the reviews, wish i would not have.  This tasted to me like one notch up from Taco Bell if that.  Certain staple mexican food was not even available on the menu.  I will not be heading back to this one anytime soon.  My server however, was very on point and very friendly.

My favorite Mexican restaurant of all-time.  I am always torn between their Chicken en Mole and the Pork Carnitas.  They both get my highest recommendation.  Margaritas are good and so are the refried beans.

    Very good mexican cuisine.
I moved to MA from Colorado (no stranger to Mexican food) and this is my favorite spot when I want Mexican food.

This is a local chain, I've also been to Norwood location.  Prefer the atmosphere in Franklin (and avoiding route 1 traffic).

    Highly recommend the Mole` sauce.  It's the best Mole` I've had-awesome.
    Consistently quality food and service.
