I love Aleo's. I work at an office in the area and reps send us lunch from here all the time. Their salads are fantastic! I have also tried a few of their pastas as well. Always lunch sized so I wouldn't know about how their catering is. They are definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
Review Source:The quality of the food is solid, on par with salumerias in Brooklyn and Staten Island. My main issue is with the speed of service, or lack thereof. You can stand there for five minutes before one of the guys behind the deli stops whatever it is they're doing and asks if you need help. Once they do help you, it's at a snails pace. Also, pricing is a drop higher than other Italian delis in the area.
Review Source:Wowwwww. Â This deli has a gigantic selection of creative Italian
food. Â I absolutely loved it. Â I came here with a friend and we got a POUND of fresh ravioli, marinated in seasonings and oil with all kinds of grilled peppers and sun-dried tomatoes. Â It was so incredibly flavorful that I can practically taste it when I close my eyes... a week later! Â I could tell that all of the ingredients were fresh and that the ravioli was homemade. Â The cheese filling was really creamy, too. Â
One of the best parts was that we ordered a pound, plus two Pellegrinos, and the total was TEN BUCKS. Â If I were to go to Manganaro's in Hell's Kitchen or somewhere else in NYC, that same order would have easily been twenty dollars.
Really worth it. Â And easy to pass by... so pay attention!
Great Italian food. Â My wife shops there religiously , their bread is fantastic, their sauces are fantastic and love the chicken pinwheels. Â They also catered my daughters b-day party, great services, their cook was great, brought all their own supplies and was cost effective. Â Keep up the good work!
Review Source:Get the Chicken Aleo sandwich!
Probably not good for your health, but this is a lightly floured chicken patty fried and then topped with a rich looking buttery sauce with Prosciutto.
Their other Italian specialties look good, however have not purchased anything besides the Aleo and the Neo (the wait staff heard Aleo as Neo, but like it anyway).
