After reading the many reviews about "how laid back" this place was, my husband & I were asked to leave because he had on a tank top (as did I).  Really? August in Texas, 100 degrees. None of the other places we visited ( including many much nicer ones) treated us like this!

One of the best dive bars for a cold beers in Houston, if not Texas.  Alice's should be named a Houston icon!

My friends and I stop into Alice's for the large low cost cold goblets of beers she offers.  The crowd is a mix from old skool cats and cowboys to punk rockers and the fella in a suit & tie.

You have to smoke outside and it's standing only.  Juke box is full of old honky tonk music that no one can hate.

Great place to stop before going to a game or concert, or afterwards for that matter.
