Amy's is on our "must do" list whenever we're in Aurora. The sandwiches are fine, but what really stands out is the atmosphere: quirky, eclectic and fun. It's the perfect break in the middle of a "girl's day out". Also, they sell kitchen-themed antiques. Very dangerous for the vintage cookware addict... ahem, I mean... me.

One other note: I love their chocolate cokes. I don't drink soft drinks normally, but Amy's chocolate coke tastes a little like a chocolate phosphate, for those East Coast/Midwest soda counter fans out there.

Good, fresh food. Had the chicken salad half-san with soup. Tasty chicken salad recipe with cranberries & almonds. I thought $2.50 was high for an iced tea - you can get refills, but if you only want one glass, the price is steep. Fast, friendly service.

Shades of the 50's and 60's. The tables and chairs are an eclectic mix of designs, colors and shapes. Mine was a red and white gingham covered table and matching chairs of the heavy wire type that was common in Malt Shops and Soda Fountains back in the day.

Amy is a pretty little bundle of enthusiasm who told me she makes everything in house. I zeroed in on a gorgeous piece of Lemon Cake that was singing Etta James "At last" to me from under a sparkling crystal bell jar. (If you don't think Lemon Cake can sing to you, ya got no soul man!) It was every bit as good as it looked, smelled, and yes, sounded.

Lunch was just minutes behind me, at Topaz HomeStyle Appetizer Bistro around the corner, so I didn't check out the real food here, but I saw some Sandwiches which almost made me re-think my current state of stuffedness. You can bet I'll be making an encore appearance to test drive one on another day.

Try it. It will make you smile!
