I've had mixed experiences at the various McMenamins, but I was really impressed with this one.
It's a very large restaurant with 2 levels. Â We were seated promptly upstairs on a Saturday night. Â They seemed to be training servers, so we had a variety of people waiting on our table. Â Everyone was friendly and efficient.
The menu was varied. Â The burger/tots and Cuban sandwich were deemed very good. Â I had a coconut curry bowl. Â It was very tasty. Â However, it only comes standard with veggies and they need to work on the quality of their vegetables. Â I asked for them to add broccoli, which they did. Â But the rest was mostly onions, celery, and squash. Â If I didn't ask for the broccoli, I would have been disappointed. Â It does have avacado, so that helps round things out.
I would definitely return to this location and try other things on the menu.
Is it just me, or do you find the McMenamins that are not in Portland better? Â This one is pretty cool, situated around an old church in Wilsonville. Â They have a nice sunken patio area where they do events during the summer and the restaurant is a good size with an attractive bar area and a good party room in the back for groups. Â I look forward to spending more time here this summer!
