Like many others, we were nearby and said what the heck. I tried to be objective knowing they are a new place. First impression was pretty good. I liked the decor and even with the restaurant being pretty crowded we were seated very fast. The girls at the front seemed a bit snotty but I figured whatever, our waitress seemed nicer. We ordered an appetizer which we waited FOREVER for. I appreciated our waitress being honest and explaining that another waitress who seated the table next to us 15 minutes after us gave them our appetizer which they also ordered by mistake. The place just seemed like chaos and I found myself watching a crazy number of waiters, waitresses and hostesses yet they were all standing around waiting for stuff. Watching them deliver stuff to tables was insane and I wondered how they even kept track of anything. The food was eh...not bad but seriously, if I have to wait an hour to eat - I better be blown away.
Review Source:I'm giving this review two stars for the front desk staff and the drinks. Â My husband and I went to Twigs last night. Â We promptly got seated on the patio (which is a very nice patio). Â We sat there for a good 15 minutes or so before anyone approached us. Â Finally one of the front desk girls must have noticed we hadn't been greeted and brought us waters. Â Another 5-7 minutes went by and finally our server came over. Â We ordered two Jalapeno martinis which were really good. Â It took about 10 minutes to get them however. Â I ordered the crab macaroni and cheese and my husband ordered a Cuban sandwich with fries. Â The fries were clearly the frozen kind that come from a bag and were not seasoned well. Â They tasted like cardboard. Â The sandwich was okay, but not great. Â My macaroni and cheese was dry and not seasoned correctly either. Â Just kind of bland. Â When the food arrived, my husband ordered a beer and it came about the time we were finishing our food. Â With so many choices for restaurants in Portland and around Bridgeport Village......we most likely will not be back.
