Drink & Hunt

I did my first Drink and Hunt on October 1st 2010 and thought it was awesome! I was on a team with two of my girlfriends named the Rough Riders and we dressed up as cowgirls. We competed with three other teams running round downtown Portland, finding different bars, answering trivia questions, and taking silly pictures. This was a really organized Scavenger hunt pub crawl. We were sent clues on our phones that allowed us to find the different bars and once we were there we were sent a question and when we answered that, we activated the social challenge, which gave us 15 minutes in the bar to get a drink and chat. I liked how there were bonuses and penalties throughout the race, making it more exciting! I would definitely do it again!

I did the drink and hunt this past Saturday with the Rough Riders team! As I understand, the Drink and Hunt is new to the Portland area and hopefully it takes off! Teams of 3+ use smart phones to get clues to Portland area bars. Once you get to the bar you have to answer a question about something in the bar, and then wait a 15 minute period for your next clue. This gives you some time to have a drink and gather yourselves before running (YES, RUNNING!) to your next destination. While you wait out your 15 minutes you can participate in extra challenges to get time taken off of your final time, such as trivia questions and taking photos with various people/objects. My team arrived first at the final destination but we had two five minute penalties and in the end lost by 14 seconds!! We were each awarded a drink and hunt shotglass, and the winning team received pint glasses.
Some teams dressed up and played the part of their team name, which made it even more fun, and at the end all the teams hung out and had some appetizers and socialized. I would definitely do the Drink and Hunt again!
