I went there about four months ago and  a rat ran across the floor..Looks he's a local, and had a few  to much to drink and eat. The steak I ate, tasted like its been around since Hemet was around. But hey,  If you want to get just drunk?  Have at it!!

This place is under new ownership and much improved. The dining room is completely remodeled in a contemporary, chic motif.

I ordered a 10 oz ribeye steak from the "light side" menu. It comes with one side dish, and I chose the grilled vegetable skewer. The other two people in my party ordered the pork strips in mushroom gravy. For starters they ordered sauteed mushrooms and we all had a mixed green salad. Dessert was the "Coupe Danemark". Very yum!

Everyone was pleased with their meals. The pork strips are in the part of the menu that has Swiss faire. The Anchor also has burgers and kids menus, as well as wine and beer. There is a full bar.

Service was prompt and friendly. The owners also came by our table to thank us for our patronage.

I peered in to both restrooms, and while not opulent, they are very clean. I would imagine that a makeover might be in the works in the near future, so as to match the chic dining room decor.

I'm happy to see the Anchor return to the Hemet scene. It had been turned into the California Palms some time back. The  Palms started out on the right track, but then quickly degraded and shut it's restaurant section.

Didn't really eat there but the bar experience was not good. Ordered an A.M.F. and got cheap watered down Vodka in blue food coloring. Cost me 6.50 and tasted like toilet water...Probably was. Others in my group also ordered lots of different items and again, received gross tasting drinks. Credit is accepted but machine was broken and lines were long. I know the standard for bars in Hemet is pretty low but I think you would do better to just skip it altogether. One good thing is that they had free Wi-Fi which I partially used to make this review.

The good: The Anchor/Palms is kind of a Hemet fixture. It's been around for a long time, and people expect it to endure. It has a full bar, and tries to represent the nicer things about this town. They have free WiFi, but the signal is pretty weak.

The bad: The company I worked for booked this place for a large event. It didn't look bad- the hall is large and an appropriate temperature. However, the problems started almost immediately. For a party of ~300 people with a cash bar, they scheduled 2 bartenders, who were quickly overwhelmed and not enthusiastic. Drinks tasted terrible and were overpriced. Service was sluggish, and overall underwhelming. Parking was poorly lit. Their credit card machine was busted, so they had a complicated tab system going. Requests for nicer ingredients to drink (mint, pomegranate, etc) were met with some doubtful looks and some demure refusals. Unimpressive, guys.

The ugly: The bathrooms are beyond hideous, desperately in need of a few upgrades. The ladies' room in particular- the floor was flooded and the wall showed where old fixtures had been removed and the spot not painted. Overall, the feel was divey at not-divey prices.

Overall: I know where to get a good steak, good sushi, a well-made drink... even where to take a big group. In Hemet. The Anchor is not the answer. If it hadn't been a corporate function I wouldn't have gone; its reputation is that it's an older people's bar. However, having gone for this party, I see that there is no reason to go again.

I just wanted to write a really good review for these guys. The bar has a really nice regular crowd that is welcoming to the "not-so-regulars". We went to this place the week before superbowl and had the crab/jalapeno egg roll thingees, the onion rings and the stuffed mushroom. They were all awesome. drinks were reasonable and like I said, nice folks. We ended up going there to watch the super bowl and they had a kick a$$ buffet for 6.99 with lots of munchies and such. And we got free shots everytime our team got a touchdown.
We go back everytime we are in town and spending the evening.

We took our family here this past Sat night for a late dinner. There were only a few other patrons in the place. Very nice atmosphere, great food, and service, but I must agree with an earlier posting, the music being piped in was horrible.

Will we return? Most definately with friends and family in tow.

Technically, I have never eaten here, but I have frequented their bar and I must say it's one of the nicest in town. The bartender is friendly, quick and attentive. The place has great TVs, and the people who seem to be all familiar with one another are really nice.

A great place to go after a long day at the office or on a Sunday afternoon.
