Not at all what we were expecting from the name. A converted caboose serves as the kitchen and a few two-tops while the rest of the restaurant is housed in a neighboring building. With the quaint name and small town location I didn't expect such a fun menu of creative omelettes and breakfast sandwiches. If they could do one thing to improve I'd say add an espresso machine, but that may not go over well except with big city tourists like me. Definitely the best breakfast around that area and if you eat everything on your plate you'll have plenty of fuel for your day of skiing or hiking.
Review Source:I sometimes think I go to the Catskills, just to go here for breakfast. I live in Bethlehem, PA so its not a quick jaunt. The Arkville Bread & Breakfast is the place I compare all other "breakfast" joints to. They almost all fail. The bread is amazing, the atmosphere is what you'd expect for the Catskills. I call it awesome, some call it roadside disheveled and hippyish. I don't care what weekend this is, if you aren't doing anything get in your car, drive to the Catskills go hiking, shop, hang out, and then when you wake up - go here and bask in the brilliance that is the Arkville Bread & Breakfast.
Review Source:The Catskills are known for their quirky nature - places like this are the reason why. Jack will be singing along to rock from the 60s and 70s while making great breakfasts at very reasonable prices. The old caboose is filled with charm. Eggs are very fresh, breads are very, very good. It's a fun spot. Service can get a little ragged when the place gets crowded, but there are only three people working there and they're running as fast as they can! Stop by for lunch too - sandwiches are very tasty. I had Roast Beef, my partner had a Cuban and both were delicious.
