I went to Asaki on a Saturday night with my beau. Â I would not expect some of the high prices on certain dishes since Asaki is not in a city (tempura, Thai dishes, certain rolls). Â Nonetheless, the service was attentive and the food did not dissapoint. Â I had a spicy tuna roll, squash and avocado roll, and shrimp/avocado roll. Â The Geisha Tear Drop cocktails are yummy and inexpensive--$3.95. Â Also, Asaki seems like a good place for groups, there were about three birthday parties going on while I was there.
Review Source:Considering that Asaki could be considered out of the way by Wyoming Valley standards (it's actually closer to Dallas than Luzerne), it is really a gem of a restaurant. I have had the hibachi, the sushi, and the Asian menu, and I all are good. I was especially impressed that the sushi, as I have not really found good stuff when I have been up in the Valley. I'm not a big fan of hibachi, but when I went there the day after my father's funeral, it was fun enough to take my mind off things for a bit. This place is definitely worth trying.
