I visited on a Sunday night and had the worst experience I have ever had here, which still was not too bad. BUT, I would highly recommend going Friday or Saturday nights at 7, when the place is jumping with a Cajun band and it is really at its best.
There was only one girl (the daughter I believe) working as a waitress, and 4-5 full tables, so it was kind of too much to handle. Despite the slow service, the food was good.
Fried alligator as a starter was good, not dry, though a little greasy. The gumbo was only lukewarm but had good flavor. The BBQ crabs were delicious but so damn hard to eat that it took forever to get through a half dozen of them. People around us were eating pounds of crawfish, which looked great.
I really love this place and will keep coming back as it reminds me of my childhood.
My suggestions are that they sell tshirts, and have more waitstaff!
