I'm giving B Ryder's Bar & Grill a four star rating simply because they provide a venue to showcase local music artists, and those are too few and far between around these here parts!  It is obvious that it is set up to primarily be a sports bar, but the two very different identities manage to coexist nicely.

I came here recently for the first time to see the Bakersfield band 1916 do a live show.  It was a fabulous concert and B Ryder's was a nice venue to have it in.  The stage was plenty large enough to house the entire band and there was plenty of room directly in front of the stage to have a decent sized dance floor.  There were plenty of tables in front of the stage to sit at and enjoy the band.  It was obvious who was there to see the band as many of them were dressed in kilts and Irish heritage shirts, did I mention the band plays Celtic Rock, but there were a number of people there who looked like they came for the sports.

The bar is at the rear of the restaurant and has six television screens suspended over it, all of which were playing sports programs.  There were four more screens on the adjacent walls also broadcasting sports programs and that area was full of patrons wearing sports jerseys enjoying a refreshing beverage (or 2 or 3 or 24) while watching.  There is also a huge widescreen tv at the front of the restaurant opposite the stage area also broadcasting sports.  Every direction you looked were either sports games or inebriated Irishmen dancing their tootsies off.  It was quite a sight to behold, I tell you.

Members of both groups chose to play nicely for the evening, with one of the sports jersey clad patrons joining the kilted folk on the dance floor for a while (perhaps during the commercials).

There was even a billiards table next to the dance floor which was being used quite a bit in the early evening.  The beer was good and not horribly expensive.  My friend and I ordered the appetizer platter which delivered, exactly as promised, a plate full of deep fried bar food which satisfied our hunger but probably didn't help our waistlines much.

I think it is important to support those venues showcasing and supporting the local Bakersfield music scene.

Good place to see live music.  One large room with a stage, tables, a three sided bar.  All of the staff were very nice on the night I was there.  I only had the french fries so I couldn't tell you anything else about their food. Nice choice of beers even though the majority of the crowd was drinking Bud and Coors Light. Come on people!  Break the habit!

    Amazing place to visit!

I drove from Manteca to Bako to see Fear and the nervous system, and this place didn't disappoint, food was good, drink prices were good.

Stage is big and could fit a hundred people (?)

Overall had a great night at this place.

If you are seeking a place to enjoy watching a sporting event with your buddies (for me and my girl, it was the UFC on PPV), this is a ok place to check out. They included "dinner" with our cover charge, which consisted of pulled pork (nom nom), a petite salad, canned beans, and a dinner roll on styrofoam plates-typical picnic fare, nothing fancy. Big screens can be viewed from several different vantage points, which I thought was cool. Overall, B Ryder's was ok, nothing to write home about. A decent place to kick it with the buddies.

Apparently the drink prices change depending on who your ordering from. Bunch of BS!

We were bored so we found a notice in the Bakersfield Californian for live comedy.  Unfortunately the routine was equal parts sexual innuendo and profanity and not that funny.  It makes me wonder where one goes for true comedy in Bakersfield.

Heard a lot about this place so naturally wanted to try it out. Wow was not empressed. There was no greeting at the front door to seat you so naturally no tables to sit on to watch the football game....so I left.

Stopped in last night for a few drinks with some friends. Our bartender was outstanding. That girl was on top of everything I asked for. I made sure I gave her a good tip.

The live band was meh, nothing to write home about. That's not the bars fault. I do however like the layout of the stage. The place was packed, we still got a table to sit. Never tried the food but I hear good things about Taco Tuesday.

Id say this place is worth another round or two.

I like this place.  Good bartenders that give you just enough attitude to make it fun.  Food is decent bar food. Burgers, good asada tacos.  Hot wings.

They show all the UFC fights and charge 10$ and you get dinner with the cover.  Decent bands every weekend.

Wish that they had more beers on tap.

Definitely a place that I will return to.

The people here are good people and the food is good too. I like the live bands, wish there was some old school bands in stead of rock bands all the time, LOL Over all this is my favorite hangout.
