Good food, but a little on the pricey side. Their Jerusalem Salad is very tasty. I could just have a plate of it with some pitas and I'd be happy. However, sometimes their meat isn't as good as the other days I go to visit. Fix the inconsistency and the price and I'll give it five stars.
Review Source:Try it while you can. Â With service like this, they won't be in business much longer.
First the positives: Â the place is clean, had ESPN on, and they probably opened promptly at 1100.
The negatives: Â out of all beverages but Coke. Â However, much like Lucy holding that football for Charlie Brown, that didn't prevent the cashier from asking me what I wanted to drink. Â The food is like high school cafeteria fare. Â My cheeseburger tasted like it ran the fouth race last night at Arlington Heights and lost. Â The bun was from Jewel-Osco and must have been on sale.
I do not recommend this place unless you're in a pinch and can't make it across the street to KFC.
I won't give a bad review on a first visit. Â Everybody has a bad day. Â Just wend second time, and here it is: Â First time it was completely disorganized. Â I waited about an hour for a not very complicated order. Â People were ordering after me and leaving before me for about 20 minutes. Â I can go on and on. Â My second attempt, most everything I tried to order off the menu, they were out of. Â Every item I tried to order, the person walked back to the cook, and came back and said, we're out. Â Those 2 people were the only ones working, and they couldn't keep up. Â The food is eventually ok, but not worth the hassle. Â Never again. Â 0 stars.
Review Source:My wife and I have eaten through carry out from this loaction 3 times. The first time was about 2 weeks after it had opened. The food was very good and service was okay. The 2nd time was about 6 weeks after they had opened. The food was just okay and service was poor as we waited over an hour for delivery to find our order was partially wrong. The third and FINAL time was about 10 weeks after the opening. This time the order was taken over the phone in which we were informed they would have to call us back to take payment and gave us many excuses why it was taken so long. After 2 hours, our order arrived. Our drinks were missing. Half the order was wrong. The things offered on the menu, they were out of. After bringing us our drinks and the corrected order, which was still wrong and over cooked. They wouldn't even give us our money back on just the part of the order!! The manager wouldn't even get on the phone!! We will never eat there again!! Such a shame. Customers 1st? Not here!!!
Review Source:GREAT FOOD (SOMETIMES) BUT TOTALLY INCONSISTENT AND A BIT PRICEY FOR A HOLE IN THE WALL TAKE OUT JOINT. Â First of all let me say that I absolutely LOVE their chicken platter and I really want to keep supporting this business; however, every time I order from Baba's, the food is different. - absolutely no consistency whatsoever. For the chicken platter, they either forget the vegetables, skimp on the rice, season the chicken differently, charge me $2 for extra chicken but don't provide it, or they dump sauce all over it even though I've specifically requested the sauce to be on the side. My husband loved their flour fried chicken wings the first time he got them but the next time he ordered them, they had this nasty batter on them and were burnt. You MUST order ahead or you'll be waiting for at least 20 or 30 minutes even though there seem to always be at least 6 employees there, mostly standing around. You can see the cooks and they're standing there talking to each other instead of cooking. The other thing that smacks of bad management is that they don't seem to follow their own menu. "All Sandwiches Come with Free Fries" but they never give them to you. And if you order the "Specials" like 3 gyros with fries for $10.99, make sure they don't try to ring it all up separately. Also, you MUST double check your order when they give it to you - I learned this after the first two times they "forgot" to include the items they were sure to charge me for. The prices are a little steep too - 1 chicken platter, no salad, extra chicken, Â 2 pitas and an order of falafel = $14. Sometimes they tell you a "free" lemonade comes with this platter, sometimes they don't. I really hope Baba's gets it together - when it's done correctly and they include everything they say they will, the food really is fantastic, especially the middle eastern selections.
