I know that most people wouldn't think to go to a Mexican restaurant for breakfast, but in my opinion, that's what this restaurant does best. The buttermilk pancakes and waffles are excellent, as are the skillet meals. The Mexican fare here is always decent, but unremarkable, although my husband can't seem to get enough of their al pastor tacos with cilantro and onion.
The decor is seasonal and kitchy, so if you're looking for a  sophisticated atmosphere, you'll be disappointed. Owner and staff are friendly and service is prompt. Its a nice, casual family-run restaurant, and we frequent it often.
The food was good. I'm not going to go into a long song and dance about the atmosphere or the authentic architecture. The place is in a small building. The decor is not exceptional. The atmosphere is not quaint. It is a family friendly restaurant and they serve good food. The wait staff was friendly even though they appeared short-handed. The kitchen didn't wast time and had our meal ready and on our table quickly.
Their salsa was okay. Their con queso was okay. Both are served with chips prior to the meal. I would have preferred they be a little more forthcoming with the chips and salsa, but like I said, they were busy and appeared to be short a wait-person or two.
Regardless, I'm from Houston and I know what I like in Mexican food. I found it here. The food was good. My family enjoyed their meals as well. We will be going back.
Came here with my coworkers, of course.
Decent food. Â Salsa was meh, so I stuck with the cheese. Â I got a tostata and enchilada. Â Both were good. Â It's a great restaurant with good prices... but when I think "OMG I NEED AMAZING FOOD NOW!" this place doesn't rush to mind. Â Granted, not many places in Zion do...
(Guess I'm just spoiled in the city, where I actually live.)
