A buddy of mine and I went to the car show and saw a bunch of cool cars we can't afford. Â On the way home I remembered a cool place with food I could afford, Baby's Cheesesteak and Lemonade whose wares I had enjoyed at the Yelp event.
We got off the highway and got waited on right away. Â My companion had the cheesesteaks and I had a couple of hot dogs with fries. Â Fast and very satisfying in a modern, clean restaurant with very helpful people working there. Â We discussed the cars and enjoyed our food.
Affordable and delicious, even better than the car show. Â Well, until we can afford those hot new rides.
Finally made it out here last night for a late night dinner with Fred. Â It's located in a little strip in front of a big strip mall. Â Nice, clean spot and just as nice inside.
We were the only ones there when we got there at around 9 PM, but it shortly picked up after only being in there for a few minutes. Â We ended up ordering the Chicken and Waffle (with the wings not the strips), Crispy Cheesesteak, Buffalo Fries and an original lemonade. Â So yeah...basically one of everything!! Â Kidding! Â But seriously...it was fat time up in there...and I LOVED every minute of it!!
The food came out quickly and was awesome!!! Â Let me start off by saying...best.cheesesteak.in.Chicagoland.area. Â Such a great concept to deep fry it, it keeps all the cheesy juiciness inside and that crunch on the outside is amazing! Â Mmmm mmm!! Â The chicken and waffles was magic in my mouth...crispy, salty, sweet, slightly doughy...everything I hoped it would be. Â And that breading on the wings is so crispy and perfectly seasoned. Â So good! Â The buffalo fries were very tasty, I just wish they were crispier. Â But that would probably require less sauce, which would make them less buffalo-y...it's a double edged sword, really. Â But I would DEF order them again cause I LOVE me some buffalo sauce! Â The lemonade was a frozen version which froze my teeth, but in a good way! Â Nice and cold...would be perfect on a summer night!
The prices are right, the location is easy to get to and the food is fantastic! Â If you haven't tried Baby's yet...get your ass over there and give 'em a try...you will NOT regret it and your taste buds will thank you!! Â
PS...to top off our amazing fat fest..."Bands a Make Her Dance" was playing as we left...so OF COURSE I had to shake my ass the whole way out. Â Thank you Baby's for making my night fantastic!
I want to eat everything here. Literally.
So... the Orland Park one is pretty awesome but, this one... this one takes the cake.
For one - There's Clubber's Pizza - never heard of 'em but, figured I'd try a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni. That was a mistake and I'll tell you why; I am 5'4" and weigh 155 lbs. these so called "Slices" could get up and KICK MY ASS! They're HUGE!!! No wonder they gave 'em to me in to-go boxes... One look at me and the figured "No way those are both for him"
The Cheese was tasty, I really liked the crust, nice air pockets and I got a free ride on the flavor train too! The only way I can really describe it is "burnt in all the right places" that wee bit-o-char, that extra little crisp in your chew... I'm done... Clubber's TKO'd me on the first round... then again it was two slices against one Filipino and I'm no Pac-man.
I got two slices and a lemonade for $9.16 - not a bad price at all considering that I got half a pizza. Picture - http://www.yelp.com/biz_…
Two - And here's a pleasant surprise - There's a sign it says "ALL PIZZAS MADE LARGE & FRESH TO ORDER" Ya... that's cool right? I was thinkin' damn, I want a hot 'n fresh pizza but, I can't eat a whole large alone... guess I'm stuck with off the rack pizza...
Hell No! Even the individual slices are made right then and there! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Never in my life... that's just cool.
Finally - The employees, they're friendly and just seem really relaxed, not like lazy relaxed but, relaxed like there's stuff happening and we're handling it no sweat. I really don't see what the so called "Tips" about disrespectful and poor customer service is about... I've had BAD service before and this ain't it.
The one little thing that was a bit "aww man" was that my Lemonade didn't have a squeezed lemon in it... maybe they forgot or maybe it's just the other location. No biggie really, it still tasted good but, I want my lemon.
Even though this location is a bit further away from my work than the Orland one, I'll be back here for Clubber's and to try that Red Velvet Parfait that's been raved about.
SYOY
Really friendly staff, everyone seemed to be having a good time at work. We were a bit outside of our neighborhood coming back from running an errand and wanted something quick. Many choices, but all the same, lot's of burger places. Wendy's, Sonic, McDonald's, you know the drill.
There were also a few cheese-steak places around. But, this place had a sign up that they do pizza. I happen to love pizza, I must admit to being skeptical so I kept it simple, one cheese pizza, it was much better than I expected, a little bit doughy which could be corrected by cooking it a bit longer. My husband got a salad, and that looked good too, it had lots of fresh romaine on it.
This place is fast food, however it's better than average. If I were out there again, and hungry sure I'd go back. They do have these slushy type lemonade and other flavored drinks, looks sort of like a frozen margarita. Be warned they are crazy sweet, for example take a shot glass fill it half way with sugar and the other half water, chill it and drink. If this sounds good to you, you'll love it.
I have came here at least 10 times since they've been open. If I could rate their turkey burger it would be 10 stars, seriously. I did have a not so good experience. They served me a garden salad with "golf ball size" cut-up tomatoes and "pinky" finger size cuts of cucumber, and a forest of romaine lettuce. Yes, it was as bad as it sounds. To top off my salad experience I bit into a rotten golf ball, oops I meant tomato. YUCK, yes I would just stick to eating unhealthy here.
The pizza is bland and the gyros are really greasy. I saw the cook place the gyro meat on a grill so I'm assuming that's why it is greasy. The fries tend to always be greasy and a couple times they forgot my fries due to me being in the drive-thru and the inside being busy.
The philly rolls were not what I expected and the cheesecake slices are very small for their price($3). Last, the service is hit or miss at dinner time, but DO TRY THEIR TURKEY BURGER, it's a WOWZER . Their chicken nachos are also de-lish. They're fairly new so I will give them some time.
Let me start off by saying what I was disappointed with. Â The food was so delicious, I did not have room for dessert. They had red velvet, apple caramel, and tres leches parfait, which I know would have been delicious, but gives me a reason to come back soon. Â
I had the chicken and waffles, and the made the Belgium waffles, just the way I like them. Â The chicken strips were a little crispy for my taste, but the manager told me, next time to order them not so crispy. My kids ordered chicken fingers and hot dogs, they scarfed it all down, which us something they don't usually do. Â I also ordered onion rings, which comes some homemade spicey maynaise sauce, which was pretty freakin good. Â They also have these lemon chillers, that come in watermelon, strawberry, and other flavors, I can't recall, me and the kids, had the watermelon lemon chiller, which again was pretty freakin good.
Looking forward to my next visit, when I will try the Philly rolls, and save room for the red velvet parfait
WTF? Â Seriously? Â As if a philly cheese steak sandwich couldn't get any better...these guys went ahead and fried it. Â Imagine all that flavor and unhealthy goodness packaged in a crispy shell. Â Needless to say it was awesome. Â And it didn't stop there. Â My wife tried the BBQ chicken pizza. Â I was a bit skeptical at first...a BBQ chicken pizza from a place that slangs gyros and philly cheese steaks? Â Really? Â Well I was slapped across the face with how good it was...and how cheap. Â It was a whole pizza for like $8-9! Â It was freaking delicious. Â I also tried their garlic fries which were great...maybe they could've used a bit more garlic. Â We also had some good flavored lemonade and an ice cream. Â This place turned me into a gluttonous pig. Â I will definitely be back.
