You can judge me all you want- ITPers but out here in the burbs we have to appreciate what we can get and honestly I don't think Bahama Breeze is all that bad. I have visited this chain in several different locations. It became a go to place for my husband and me when we were dating. It could be found in whatever city we were living in at the moment and we liked the mojitos and coconut shrimp. I was pretty impressed that my non seafood eating husband loved their coconut shrimp and has now even graduated to ordering fish. He got the tilapia recently and liked it a lot. I had black grouper with this shrimp sauce. I wish I would have taken a picture. The shrimps were pretty big. Not the tiny salad shrimp by any means. The fish was nice and meaty- cooked really well. And it was a huge portion so I had leftovers that reheated pretty well. I got a side of yummy fried chunks of yuca- crisp on the outside- creamy texture inside.

We had also ordered the corn cakes appetizer. I found these to be a bit sweet. They are served with butter and jelly. It seemed more appropriate for breakfast.

I will definitely return for the fish. Being a chain I would have expected the prices to be lower- maybe the seafood dishes were more expensive- the coconut shrimp were $9 and my grouper was around $22... But we had a $10 coupon that came in the mail so that lessened the blow.

And last thing- we really liked the atmosphere. It's a little kitschy but it sort of reminded us of stops on our Caribbean cruises!

I went here on a work related group outing. The atmosphere was chill. I'd say the lighting was a bit dim (both on the dining floor and restrooms). The food selection was vast. I really had a hard time choosing. The prices were reasonably priced. I'd say it was more of a two and half $ price range to three versus the stated two.

This place would be a good place for drinks after work since there are plenty of places for a large group. As for lunch time dining, the food selection was good. Do give this place a try.

It's been about a month since I brought a large party here and I can honestly say that in my 10+ years of organizing group events, this was - hands down - the worst experience I have ever encountered. Startlingly so.

Having been in the restaurant industry for many years in my youth (including managerial positions) I can say this was an issue of managers and not necessarily wait staff. Oddly enough, 2 years prior we had a great experience there, but the year before I had some red flags that made me exclude them, and this year I decided to ignore my instincts. BIG MISTAKE.

Though our large (50+) party probably will not affect this particular location (80% OOTers), what it will affect is similar events that occur in every state all throughout the year. Most of the people in our group were out-of-towners, but every single one of them is on a committee for the same event for their state. And I can promise that without me saying ONE word, NOT ONE WILL EVER CHOOSE BAHAMA BREEZE AS THEIR YEARLY LOCATION. Ever. 3 years from now if someone new joins a committee and recommends it, they will be reminded of how bad it was here.

I won't go through the litany of problems that occurred - I will reserve that for corporate. Suffice to say, this was a horrible experience as an organizer of an important event, and not only will I not ever use them for a group function, but neither as a personal dinner function.

If you want great food and service, Bahama Breeze is the place to go. Their Happy Hour menu is extensive and the Mojitos are to die for!

We go at least once a week. Ask to sit in Brittany's section, you won't be disappointed. She remembers  our names, drinks and we always get great service when she is our server. She goes above and beyond and makes sure every visit is memorable and perfect.

We love to sit on the patio and listen to the live music. Lots of fun, good food and good music. That;'s what it's all about!

Went here on Fri for happy hour, half off certain drinks and apps. Drinks were delicious. I had the mojito, the pineaple coconut martini(YUM) and the red sangria, all were very good. Ordered, the coconut shrimp and they brought out bbq sauce for dipping instead of the citrus dip, oooookkk. We didnt notice until after the fact and ate it anyways, it wasnt too bad. The chicken sliders are ok and I also ordered the jumbo lump crab. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Theresa was our server and she was top-notch!

I have eaten at this location a few times before, but I was simply blown away with the great service on my latest visit, as our service Brittany did a fabulous job.

My coworkers and I arrived during happy hour, and proceeded to load up on appetizers and drinks.  Brittany made sure that we were aware of the specials, and helped out with food recommendations.  She stayed close by and kept up with our drink orders, remembered our names and drinks, and pretty much made our evening.

The food was good too!  The size of the chicken wings was amazing, an dthe coconut shrip were to die for.  The drinks were well-poured and not skimpy.

We will be coming back, for sure!

I really enjoyed the food, the music and also the service was great. I like that they have different types of Carribean food on their menu Cuban, Jamaican, Puerto Rican etc.... Our server was really friendly and had a great personality. I think her name was Brittany.

    Definetely an '80s island vibe.

Food is always good. Even though they look like they have a big adult crowd (after-work gigs, dates, etc, ) they are great with families with kids as well.

You can eat inside or out on a deck that is heated in the winter.  The heated deck has entertainment and the Hawaiian-shirt clad lounge singer wasn't so bad. My kids were his most enthusiastic fan.

I had the seafood chowder (where the kitchen floated 3 coconut fried shrimp in the middle as  a happy surprse!) Bowl too big, but it was good.  Entree was the jerk chicked with cream sauce and bowtie pasta.  It was spicy (Jerk) and delicious! I ordered the lighter version and can't imagine how the rich the regular version is because this was nicely rich, but  not too much. Since the bowl of chowder was so big, I brought most of this home (not complaining!)  It came with a tasteless rectangular bread-like thing that looked more like a room accessory than anything.  I kept it to feed to the goats at Billy's Farm.

Kids gave a thumbs up to chicken qeusadilla, mac n cheese (of course) and bow-tie pasta with red sauce.  Little 10 oz milkshakes for dessert and they were set. (Raspberry is especially yummy.)

    Ample parking.

    Nice night.

The only thing I've ever had here is the Cobb salad but I quite enjoyed it. I ate here for lunch and the service was great, the food came out quickly, there were several things that sounded good on the menu, and the parking was plentiful. I would return.

This place has been around for seems at least a decade (I am sure longer, I know it is one of the few original restaurants around North Point)- but I have only been twice after all of these years.

The decor here is close to 5 stars- I love the size, I love the patios, and I like the layout.  However, that almost seems to be one of the only draws.

Had dinner here the other night with my buddy.  There was about an hour wait that night; we decided to sit at the bar.  The bar at the time only had 5 people (that number includes us)- and had 2 bartenders.  For a place that is known for cocktails, I was expecting some high qual 'tenders, but that didn't seem to be the case.

Maybe they were overwhelmed.  Maybe they need a third one, who knows- but it seemed like the current system needed a revision.

I didn't get any booze (too overpriced for my liking)- but I got an app size of the Coconut shrimp($9), as the dinner portion was $16.  What amazes me about this is that for $7 more, you get 2 more shrimp, broccoli, and other veggies.  I hope those veggies came with gold leaf!  Definitely not on the value side...  The food is decent and the menu is vast, but I can see that if you add a drink or two, you can easily spend $40-50+ PP...

If you want a place to pregame or grab a few drinks, come check it out, be careful though this place can get busy, and when it does, service may or may not be compromised.

On the flip side, they are doing something right to be open all these years, and for that, I am impressed!

Yes, it's a chain restaurant. Having dined in several of them before I expected more of the same. Amidst the backdrop of a downpour from a summer thunderstorm we had prime patio seats. A lone guitarist with an electronic band played Jimmy Buffet and Eagles music. Hustle and bustle from a Friday night crown.  Sucked up an exotic rum punch while downing the coconut tinged onion rings.  In my 62 years I had never tried paella, so I ordered the Seafood Paella.  Wow! I had to look for the rice amongst the copious amount of various seafood morsels.  That is a welcome surprise these days.  At $16 bucks - not bad. Seasoned perfectly too, including some extra chili's I had asked added.  Great menu and super service from Jeff. We're coming back here again!

I was a little disappointed to find the end-of-year staff luncheon was being held at Bahama Breeze. I tried to be optimistic though. Bahama Breeze is what it is, a chain food emporium. The food isn't great by any stretch. It isn't bad either. I whittled together a decent meal by ordering the salmon lunch (with shrimp on top) and an 8 oz sirloin a la carte. The steak was cooked reasonably close to the temperature I asked. The salmon was absolutely killed though, way overdone. I didn't ask, but I would be surprised if Bahama Breeze gets their fish fresh every day.

The virgin drink I had was probably the high point of the meal. It was a mixture of mango and pina colada mix, very refreshing.

Brian our server did a great job. He was very attentive and made everything run smoothly.

I would visit Bahama Breeze in the future only under similar circumstances (a free meal).

Appetizers seem to be a great price for what you get. We got the onion rings and they layered those rings on top of each other....a lot to share between 4 people.

For my entree, I ordered the seafood paella. The first thing I thought when I saw my dish was that it was very salty and small sized portion...especially at $16.99.

The drink I ordered was called "Painkiller" and was delicious. Definitely DIFFERENT than what I was expecting (a pina colada ish taste), but had a good kick to it.

Yeah... I used to think that Bahama Mama was a high class restaurant until I actually tried it.  It's not the best but definitely good value for the BUCK!

I really have not much to say but the food was good and it was cheap! :)

Our table was dirty, as were the other tables around us. The menu is not extensive at all, and If you have someone who is picky about seafood, go right ahead and leave, because they don't even have an adult chicken finger meal. The bathroom smelled extremely foul, as if something had died in there. When I arrived back at my table, my meal was exactly what I did not want, and when I sent it back it took them 20 minutes to bring three of the tinniest chicken fingers I've ever seen. Honestly I thought they were nuggets. I was so irritated I didn't even eat, I just asked for a box and left.
The waiter was good, seemed to be on to of things, drinks stayed refilled, but the overall experience was wretched. You can guarantee I will never be back.

1st visit here, liked the place - decor is 'tropical', food and drinks were good. Waiter was friendly, explained the food choices, made good suggestions and did not rush through his patter, and his service was fast, and he kept the refills coming on time. Both my wife and me enjoyed the visit.

Will look to try the 1/2 off Happy Hour next time.

Ok I know what you are thinking..."what the hell is chip doing in Alpharetta?" I was visiting my friend Bethany and Bob made us go here.  It was a great day and we sat on the patio. Summer was our server and was prompt to get us drinks and water. We started with the coconut shrimp. They were really good. Fat large shrimp flattened and mashed in coconut. Loved them. Bob and I had the fish tacos with tilapia. The fish was cooked perfectly and placed on top of the guacamole and served with a ancho chili sour cream. I had a few draft beers to wash it all down.  I went to the bathroom and was impressed how clean it was and they had mouthwash in a little dispenser. Overall I walked in ready to be disappointed and was pleasantly surprised. Next trip to the Retta I now know where we will be going.

I am confused about the bad reviews here. That the 1/2 Happy Hour is banging would be to understate it. My and my amigos went and the drinks plus food added up to a fine time, let me tell ya.

First the drinks. When I drink I sometimes like to have myself a fruity, frozen something or another and BB delivers. The Bahamarita was so, so good. Kiwi, Mango, Strawberry rita all mixed together with a side car of schnapps. What??? There were others. All for $3 or $4. Can't beat it with a stick.

Listen, and listen good. The bad reviews on here seem to be all about bad service, but most have to admit, the food is damn good.

We had onion rings, crab claws, shrimp and lobster quesadillas, firecracker shrimp, chicken wings, and coconut shrimp. Everything, that's everything folks, was absolutely delicious. There is good food in this place fo sho. 1/2 off the price of everything made it taste better.

The Happy Hour menu is extensive. Not just five or six items like most. They have about twenty selections on that thing. I love that. Also, we sat on a patio that was huge and spacious. Gotta love that too. A man came out at some point and started singing and playing a guitar. We're gonna call that live entertainment at the Happy Hour and we might as well go ahead and love that also.

Our service was pretty good. The only thing I could say would be that the server lacked any kind of personality. Smiles? No. Enthusiasm? No. But did ole girl handle her business? That, good people, would be a YES! Nothing slow or incompetent about our service at all.

I will partake in this Happy Hour over and over again.

I love me some Bahama Breeze 1/2 off Happy Hour, but I loathe this location.  The staff is TERRIBLE.  Really, the worst restaurant staff I have ever encountered, and I eat out a lot.  Have they not been trained?  Do they just not care?  I have no idea.

The problem is me however, because I keep giving them another chance.  I have been there 5 times, and EVERY time it has been a major let down and something has gone wrong.  The last time I was there, they brought out my fiance's vegetarian dish with chicken on it, TWICE!!!!  Another time we had a waitress just not come back...ever (maybe she was fired? I hope so...).

Anyway, what I am saying is stay away unless you are a glutton for punishment.  Every time I go I think things will have changed, they will be better!!! BUT, they aren't.  They. Suck. Every. Time.

However...if you like cheap happy hours, this is the place for you.  Just don't expect to leave anytime within the happy hour time frame.

Sadly I have to update my rating.  The only saving grace is the food taste good, but the waitress simply sucked.  The brown sugar water they called sweet tea was un drinkable.  Half the table requested water, which took 9 minutes.  Then we ordered the food, this took 32 minutes, yes I timed it.  The table beside ours arrived 20 minutes after us and got their food at the same time as our table.  No one got a drink refilled or any reason for the delay.  Spoke with the manager and she didin't seem to give a s@$t.  The restaurant was not full, maybe 3/5 or so.  I would suggest you find another place.  .5 stars.

Caesar salads were a bit dry due to a lack of dressing. But both Coconut Shrimp dishes were delicious and the ladies found the dipping sauce a perfect with a touch of heat. I had the Jerk Chicken Pasta and found the flavor well balanced and the asparagus fresh and tender. Service was poor and getting refills was difficult. I also leaned against the table and the hinged leaves stained my shirt with dark grease.

This is one of my FAVORITE places to eat. I love their Lemon Breeze (lemonade with sugar cane) and the Jerk Chicken Pasta is my selection 85% of the time. Yes, it is that good. I also enjoy their MASSIVE onion rings, and beef patties.  They have good jerk wings and awesome coconut prawns. On this visit my husband tried their sliders. They are new to the menu and pretty good. Go eat here!! :)

Coconut shrimp.  It's what I automatically think of whenever anyone mentions Bahama Breeze. I know they're not healthy, particularly when you dip each bite in the sauce, but they sure are tasty.

I've also been known to get soup and salad for lunch.  They've got 3 soups to choose from - chicken tortilla, black bean, and chowder.  The chicken tortilla is a relatively flavorful broth with good chunks of chicken and avocado.  I can't recall having tried the others.  The basic breeze salad is a mix of greens (including radicchio and frisée) with tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, yummy citrus vinaigrette, and some melba-toast sized slightly cheesy croutons.  Good option for a lunch with some brighter flavors, particularly on a gray and rainy day.

Happy hour is delicious!  All the island drinks you can imagine.  They've got great patio spaces for it as well.  I always look forward to corporate happy hours (when someone else is buying the coconut shrimp).

There's plenty of parking, but most of it is a good bit from the front door, particularly as the lunch hour progresses.  Need the walk to burn all the calories in the cocktails anyway...

The service is ok.  For a party of 12 yesterday, we had two servers, and for some reason, they had divided up the table, and only the server who took your order could ring your check up.  Not that big of a deal but considering all of us needed to leave at the same time, but our server wasn't around to take our check, and the other server said we needed to wait, it seemed highly inefficient.  After all, with a party of 12 gratuity is included... so it's not like one's getting better tips than the other, particularly when they don't seem to be helping each other out in order to make the experience easier on the customer.

This place is just okay in my book. It's generally a lunch destination though I've been for dinner and drinks. To me, it's the kind of place you go when you can't think of anything else. And if you can't think of anything else, you should get out and experience more things. I'd like to see them remodel, it could use it.

    Food
Had a cheeseburger with fries.  The patty was a decent size cooked to order, although the bun was stale.  No ketchup bottle pet peeve of mine and they served it in a little container and tasted watered down.  The fries were fine

    Drink
Pretty typical drink menu.  One that you would expect from a chain so a little surprising.  But they did have more than the average fruity drinks.

    Ambiance
The funny thing i think the part i enjoyed the most was the music, they played so many different genres.

    Staff
The staff was okay, attentive also.

    Parking
    Plentiful.

Overall, it wouldn't be my first selection, but its fine place to eat in a bind.

I like the food here and the mojitos are delicious. Try the fire-roasted jerk shrimp app, one of my favorites. All the appetizers I've tried have been good. I can't vouch for the chicken wings, as I've never eaten them. I'm usually not craving wings if I'm at a Caribbean restaurant.

I must admit I don't usually make it past the appetizers. I usually drop by for a few bites of food and a drink after hitting up Alpharetta Eye Associates at North Point Mall (they're great, btw). I have had the scallops and tilapia and was quite pleased.

There's a fine line between cool fake tropical and tacky fake tropical, and Bahama Breeze is definitely tacky.  We got a $10 coupon in the mail and figured we would try it since most of the reviews were pretty good.  We actually got two $10 coupons so we still have one left, send me a message if you want it.

Usually I take forever looking at a menu because I can't make up my mind, but here I couldn't find anything that sounded good.  There were no pictures on the menu and the descriptions just didn't sound that interesting with the exception of the paella, but I didn't trust this place to make it right.  We both ended up getting the chicken special (fried boneless chicken breast w/ corn salsa, mashed potatoes, and spinach) which seemed more southern than tropical but it was good, my mojito was very good, and my husband had two fruity things that were both good.

Our waiter on the other hand, not good.  He was really creepy, like the naked dancing guy in Silence of the Lambs, and he spoke really softly so he had to repeat everything about five times - just want you want when you're trying to get someone away from you as quickly as possible.  For someone who at first seemed so quiet, he sure did make a hell of a lot of noise in every other aspect.  He would bang our drinks down, sloshing them all over, bang the plates, bang into the table next to us, banged into my chair, and came by to ask us if we needed anything and dropped a stack of dirty plates he was carrying on our table almost dumping a bunch of dip all over my husband.  Luckily his reflexes were quick from being on edge due to our serial killer waiter and managed to jump back out of the way before getting splashed.  If I want to be scared while eating tropical food I'll go to an authentic dive in Miami, where I may get hit by a stray bullet but the food will be good.

Every visit I have a harder and harder time making it past the appetizer list. The only entrees that I recall that have blown me away were daily specials, but the apps keep bringing me back. Yesterday was three apps and tasty adult beverages.

The patties are in a flaky pastry with nicely seasoned filling. It's served with a mango-apple-pepper salsa that is mildly sweet, so produces a savory-sweet combination that's not too sweet. Also had the tostones, which could be considered Caribbean nachos, but replace chips with twice-fried plantains. We also tried the jerk shrimp for the first time which more resembled a spicy Caribbean fusion take on shrimp scampi with half a loaf of bread with it. Wonderfully garlicy butter sauce seasoned with fresh thyme all disappeared with the loaf before closing out the ticket.

On a cold night recently while shopping up in Alpharetta, the hubby and I saw the big round fire pit inside Bahama Breeze beckoning us to come in.  We enjoyed our meal and time here.  I had salmon with a lemon-y sauce with garlic mashed potatoes, and he had the Jamaican chicken.  We both cleaned our plates, had a few drinks (I even got a "girly" drink off the extensive drink menu and it was good--I typically don't go for those drinks).  Good chain restaurant that's a notch above a Jimmy Buffet restaurant.

This place brings back old memories.

Back in the olden days when I moved from one town to another (AND didn't know what the word "cook" meant outside of Mac N' Cheese), there was a McDonald's a block away from my place. I ate there 3-4 times a week and was sick of it and all fast food in four months.

Now, back to the present. I recently move to Alpharetta. Bahama Breeze is about a block away (IS there such things as "blocks" in ATL?!), and I went here 4 times in the first month. No question about it, I was sick of it!

I didn't get a great impression the first time, had questions the second time, was desperate the third time and the fourth time? I cannot remember. I guess my sense has forced me to forget.

Every time I was there, I never once had "good" service. Service was "eh" a couple times, but certainly nothing to get exited about. Each time, the waiter/waitress usually had an attitude like a cheap prostitute in "I want out of here so let's get over this quick"....at least that is what have HEARD a cheap prostitute is like  :-

The food each time was so-so. I almost gave this place a second star because the food wasn't terrible, but the service simply trashed the food.

The one and only nice thing about this place is the decor. But again, with my experience in the service, it isn't enough to move the rating up.

The ONLY reason I am even giving this place 2 stars is because I liked the decor. It was tropical themed. When I first walked into this margaritaville nightmare, I couldn't help but laugh to myself.. Everyone is wearing these jimmy buffet style hawaiian shirts. WHOA!, So me and the family walked to our booth only to discover a PECULIAR smell all around. I would describe it as a vomit smell. That was just an appetite ultimate destroyer. I mean this is the MEGA-TRON of destroying appetites. Sorry, back to the review. I ordered the beef kabobs and my significant other ordered crab legs dipped in some kind of stuff that just doesn't go well with crabs (imagine that!!). Both of us couldn't even finish our meals due to the taste, That's where we lose another star. Please don't waste a precious 2 hours of your life here unless your heading for the bar for some drinks. NUFF SAID....

Great place for a group. Convenient location and lots of parking - they even have valet parking.

I used to meet friends here for drinks, lunch or dinner. Food and service were always good. Never had a restroom problem. I live too far away now to stop in regularly, but I do try to get my CS fix whenever I am in the area.

The one thing that I would note is that, after I tried the Coconut Shrimp(CS) , I never ate anything else. It was so good, that I couldn't get myself to venture off that beaten path. It was consistently excellent.

Friday and Saturday nights here are busy, so get there early or you will have a wait. But the bar is friendly and the drinks are fun, so waiting never was a problem for me . . . and after a few drinks the coconut shrimp is even better!

I never had any beef with Bahama Breeze.  I used to work down the street from this location and my coworkers and I used to head over here after work to bitch and drink our cares away.

The atmosphere is very Caribbean, or it tries hard to make you think that if you've never actually been to the Caribbean.  But hey, it is more interesting than Applebees!

On the weekends they have weirdos come in and play beachy- Jimmy Buffet songs on the outdoor patio.  If you're a group of gals out for a drink beware- the dudes loooove to flirt with you between songs.  It can be disturbing.

The food is pretty decent, I've only had the pasta pomodoro and it's pretty good.  If you're in Alpharetta I would recommend this place as one of the better restaurants in the area.

    Let's start with the PROs
    1. Moderately dimly lit = good dinner conversation and relaxing environment
    2. The food didn't poison me
    3. Nice bathroom layout

    And now the CONs...
    1. The bathroom stank like some serious funk (musty body odor.), i even checked my stall for rodents because i wasn't sure humans could create a funk like that
    2. The waiter places my leftovers in the takeout box, writes the date on it and then promptly throws it on the table at me. I did nothing to that man and I never had that happen to me it was really out of place for the evening.
    3. I don't know how but even the water tasted off.
